I saw this Patriot and just assumed it was an automatic. I was so happy to see it was a manual. Basically that is all that saved it for me.

This has been my fav car to own. Had it since 2016, no CVT issues of course. Got the black out wheels and monthly payment that is done already was only $190. It's still rock solid and not sure what the electrical issues are this guy had. But had free touchscreen XM Hair Nation lol. I hear a few break squeaks on a cold morning, but never had to pay a dime for repairs and not sure what these people are doing to to mess up their ride.

We bought a 2014 Jeep Patriot Sport FWD new in November of 2013. It doesn't have the CVT, it has a 6-speed PowerTech automatic transmission with Auto Stick with the 2.4L engine. We now have 147,800 miles on it. I do all of the maint service on it and since new, so far I've replaced, the drivers side spindle assembly (bad bearing, the drivers side rear wheel bearing, the radiator and the filler neck in the top radiator hose. We live in North Georgia and for us it's been a great vehicle.

I dont normally watch these reviews, but my wifes gonna need a new vehicle soon, you can find these cheaper and in decent shape arpund here. I was wondering if they were much good. This video helped me with that, im always leery of anything cvt

Don’t get the CVT. 6 speed automatic combined with the 2.4 L engine (gasoline) is most reliable. I’ve seen a few with 350k kilometers

My sister used to have one of these & from what she told me about it; I'd have to agree with you! Now I want you to do a high miles review on my 2016 Toyota Carolla Sport with over 200,000 miles on it.

Its a toyota, it runs and the dash likely doesn't rattle, what more can you say 😅

Zero Electronic issues so far. I am the 2nd owner of a 2014 jeep patriot "North" edition. however the fuse box located under the hood to the left of the driver position makes a sound that might sound like a serpetine belt but its not. Its actually the air compressor (aC) causing vibrations to the box that houses the fuses. When the car idles it squaks. I also noticed these are prone to a transmission leak especially on the CVT but why are Lines ran the way they are its silly.

These cars are quick, they just need to be driven a certain way. Stems from the 4 cylinder

My opinion is to buy it! I just purchased a 2014 Patriot 4x4 5 speed manual also a week ago with 159,000 miles for $4,000. I agree this would probably be the more reliable drivetrain. So far I had to replace the sparkplugs because of hesitation during low end torque. It drives very well and havent noticed any issues with anything other than the sparkplug issue which is common on these 2.4's. Because I live in the rust belt I plan on keeping the subframes well oil coated to protect them from rusting. I plan on installing a tow hitch because I use a utility trailer every so often. Overall, cheap to buy, useful 4wd and fun to drive!

I have a 2016 patriot with 50,000 miles. I've had seized calipers front and back. EVAP issues. Spark plug issues. It's been a nightmare.

I sold my 2015. Big mistake. It was probably the most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned minus the crap I did to it lol. I just recently bought a 2015 with 92k miles. Only things that needed replacing was all the brakes and the rear wheel bearings. Nice and quiet down the road now.

The CVT transmission is horrible. We had 3 different ones for company cars. All three lost their transmissions at around that 150k mark. The replacement transmissions are no better!

Buy. I like these, I'd drive one of these. CVT or 6 speed PowerTech, Hyundai automatic basically.

Hi. I have a 2015 patriot 2.4 automatic is running good. That only problem I have for 4 years is de suspension and body rusting I have in the rear fender . I do my own macanic work. Wish I saved money on that. But in the future I going to buy a real Jeep. Thanks.

Dude 4th and 5th have nothing because your RPM's aren't high enough. This is a high-revving engine with a 6,500 rpm redline, give it more gas dude. I have one of these with 162,000 miles on it and the only thing I've had to replace was a wheel bearing and a set of spark plugs. Zero problems passing or merging on the highway with the 2.4 engine.

Do you remember there was a Saturn that had a Honda engine? When you say you want to like this car I am thinking the same thing but these cars need to have something better and proven underneath. Like that Saturn/Honda thing. I remember test driving it and the Honda engine ran great but there was so much noise in the cabin from bad interior design.

Just don't tow with the manual Patriot. 2000 pound towing capacity ? Give me a break ! My Toyota Rav 4 with 33 more HP only tows up to 1700 pounds. I towed with the Manual Patriot , towed a 16 foot Aluminum boat , probably 700 pounds total weight with engine , trailer and the clutch went out at 26,000 miles. 6 months before that the transmission blew up and they had to repair. I've driven manual cars since 1987 , put at least 150,000 miles on a 1992 Mitsuibisi Mirage , drove it like a maniac to work everyday and never needed to change the clutch.Drove a 2001 Hyundai Accent for 125000 miles when the clutch went out , probably driving up mountains did it. after losing the clutch at 26,000 miles I gave up and traded it in to Carvana and purchased a 2017 Kia Sedona with 32,000 miles, about what the Patriot had and it ended up a wash, I paid no more than I would've if I purchased the Minivan new. Cost $18,000 for Patriot, got $11.500 from Carvana, purchased the used Kia Sedona for $20000. Patriot is nice looking, simple, with horrible mechanicals. The Minivan gets about the same gas mileage , The Patriot engine is a gas guzzler . Never regretted selling the Patriot.
