Wow - you got that done quickly - great job! Another way to feed the gun cables underneath is to simply remove the top arcade and lay them from front to back and then replace the arcade. As long as the cables are in the middle, they won't get pinched. Thanks for the great overview and happy hunting!
I wish I could have got a T2 at Best buy for $315 so I could do this. No stores in my local area had T2 in stock to get the deal. Online price is stupid. Great video MR. PD7!
I ordered a Big Buck Hunter Pro after watching your video. Got it for $539 plus $50 off for signing up for a HSN credit card. Maybe they will make a kit for BBH.
I was going to check today to see if anyone still honors, you got a really cool shooting cab! It’s a really fun game lineup, I’m sure this kit will work on Big Buck and Time Crisis very soon. Let me know how you like it :)
I guess you can always count on #MisterFox! 😁 This video is so great! I don't know if I will put the retro-shooter in a cabinet when I get mine, but this looks incredible! The only question I have at this point Phil is: How do you feel about Time Crisis now? You literally turned T2 into the definitive shooter cab! paPOw!!! 💥💥👊💥💥 🙏
Oh man I know it’s all I thought about last night Zod :) We will do a comparison of how Steel Gunner 1&2 along with TC play on each. Like we said yesterday it’s the look of the cabs, because we all have these games it’s never enough :)
Great tutorial Phil. I haven't even received a shipping notice on my Buy Stuff mods yet. I suspect because mine is pretty much the full mod with artwork. I plan on doing a full conversion video when all the stuff arrives. Looks good!
Your T2 looks fantastic! What an upgrade...i ended up ordering the pedestal from bsa with their 6 button config and multicade artwork. Can't wait! Been having too much fun with the rs. At some point i may also buy the bsa transforming tv stand. looks sick.
Man I couldn’t believe it lol oh well I guess it’s part of the modding experience right :) wont be the last. I love it too, really looks great and plays great too.
lol yes it would be :) Unbelievable how great this plays Mike, I haven’t checked out the other games on here yet might do a follow up but those shooting games are amazing!
@@PDX7are you still loving this mod?? Do you use the single player stuff and joy stick that much? Or do you find it mostly a light fun cabinet! I’m debating ordering this right now!
@thomaskiser3886 I’m loving it Thomas, if you are interested in playing pretty much everything on here and you have room to mount holsters on the sides I’d get the 2 player with 6 button layout. I just play light guns because only 2 buttons doesn’t work for everything.
@@PDX7 thank you so much for the response! I’d like that but the upgrade is so expensive with everything else 😂 thinking maybe the one player with extra buttons just to get some more bang out of the Pandor's Box. I do have a modded TMNT cabinet so I am wondering if the extra money to use the box on the T2 cabinet is pointless and it should just be a light gun cabinet. I want the screen upgrade so the deck+screen+retro shooter is a big cost already with everything. Decisions decisions! Thanks again though
@thomaskiser3886 well that’s a good point, if you can play these elsewhere just go single deck or even just encoder board. PDubs has a video for keeping mostly stock, but Kongs R Us just did a stream last night on T2. Looks like there’s a hack to keep everything stock.
Great review I have been building a racing platform for my RR so been waiting on this, is there also other games that aren't gun games on this and does it work with the joystick? Thanks enjoy your day
Great video. Really makes me want one, if even just to hook up the retro shooter to my TV. I was looking at the current sale on the retro shooter but the 0:07 shipping is $48! I also unfortunately don’t have the T3 cabinet. I would have jumped on the $315 deal at Best Buy but the stores around me don’t have it in stock. Hopefully, we’ll see some more Black Friday deals.
Thank you :) Retro kit will run 258 total for just tv plug & play it’s not bad. I’m 80% sure if you pulled up T2 on BB site and showed Customer Service sku# they will give you 315 instore deal.
@DUGDAWGER yes I checked today pull up sku# on phone and say I want a store pickup for this it should come up 315 and question them if it doesn’t they should honor it.
@@PDX7so just to follow up, I talked to Best Buy customer service and asked them if they could ship the T2 cab to my local store for pickup at the $315 price, and they said they couldn’t do that from the online store. They said I could try to go to the actual store and see if they could order it from there to honor the price, but I haven’t tried that yet.
It holds calibration very well. Retro Shooter's are not as good as Gun4ir, of course, but they are very good. Certainly better than Aimtrak, Wii and don't have the ugly Sinden border. Their Bang for the Buck is hard to beat in our experimentation and experience.
Great tutorial Phil! I’m looking into picking up the full kit with the 19 inch screen for T2. Does the control deck come with the plexi like the stock deck? I didn’t see one on yours. Really great mod especially for us that don’t have a ton of space for multiple shooting cabs.
Hi Tommy, the deck doesn’t have the plexiglass artwork won’t come of it’s like a 3m vinyl cover. Man it’s awesome having all of those games on T2 we’ve been waiting for this :) Thank you for watching Tommy have a great day 👊
Darn you Phil!!! now I want to get this. Great video. I do have a few questions, the first, could you drill out large holes in the control board holsters so the gun wires can fall into the cab? Next, I noticed you installed the pedals holder on the back of the cab...I'm a little confused on how you get to the pedals. Do you have to pull the cabinet out and then remove the pedals from their holders?
lol it’s the best Stokjock! Ok the holsters do have openings on bottom, but all of the wires / cords from control panel and pcb are all over the place they would all twist up on you. The best thing we can do is drop in riser and it’s not as bad as the cords were originally with T2 when you assemble it. I just reached around right hand side to pull out pedals, nothing is on the right of T2. I thought back instead of side would be the best for me.
The pedal holders can be mounted on the sides using the screw already there on the riser - no tape, no drilling. The gun wires come out of the stock of the gun but the holsters take the gun barrel so they have to drape to the front just like many arcade gun cabs do - these will tuck nicely into the riser when not in use.
Absolutely incredible job, buddy. Excellent tutorial. Thorough and helpful. I appreciate the shout-out also. Thank you. I have one question. Now that you have every shooter game. Will you still buy dedicated shooter cabinets if Arcade1up produces more and more of them?
Thank you Jesse! I thought of you when I was cleaning that screen like don’t scratch anything :) I will because of what we talked about yesterday it’s the look, just like your background behind you that’s what sells us.
@PDX7 I will admit they are great looking machines. Others in my family have played it and enjoyed the games. When the fix comes out, and possibly, the price is lowered. It would be a great addition for the people in the family who really don't play video games. Guaranteed they will play this for a while.
It would have rocked hard if the Retro Shooter devs put a chipset with better 3D assets. Plenty for same cost that run Dreamcast and Naomi perfectly for shooter games. Also if the mod panel could have two more buttons for non shooter games, but only so much space.
Yes there are some games that needed more buttons, but you could go with 2 player deck for 6 button layouts for those games. It’s a great looking deck for just a little bit more, maybe we get updated SD cards in the future. Thank you for watching 👊
@@PDX7 So when they changed from 2 sensors to 4 sensors it fixed the lag issue is what you are saying? Thanks in advance as that saved me some money for having to buy the T2 cabinet and kit lol
Thank you Justin, no I’m still waiting for it. I want to do some comparisons, I think TC is going to be a really great cab, but you wouldn’t necessarily need it with this.
This is a great tutorial/review! I'm leaning towards doing this as well. However, I prefer the look of the T2 guns. Do you think it's possible to swap out the guts and put the Retro Shooter gun's insides into the T2 guns?
Thank you 🙏 I don’t believe so because the T2 guns are Sinden and require the white boarder around the monitor these guns are hooked into those 2 sensors. You could reuse the T2 with Time Crisis cab and possibly Big Buck Hunter. Thank you for watching 👊
@@PDX7 I’m passing on the Time Crisis cab, especially if I go with this T2 mod. (Save a ton of cash and space.) I appreciate the insight. It looks like a fun and fairly easy to do mod.
I would love to see someone so that . The issue is that parts might not match up but also the retro shooter has the little joysticks on the sides Gun4ir sells just hits that you can put into any shell but those only work worn pc
Hey SLS, the white usb goes from Buystuffs control deck to the retro shooter gaming box so if you just plugged into your tv it would be the Xbox controller port.
@PDX7 Oh okay. I'm thinking about getting this but I did the recessed screen mod and I don't if it would still work or if I would have to move the screen back to the front. I also have an authentic lit coin door on my T2 and was wondering if I would still be able to power those.
@sls78.. yes for both you will still have your lit coin doors and the monitor further back is good you won’t have to stand as far back as I do. The secret with the sensors is you have to be a good 3-4 feet back and if you have limited space that will help.
@briannypd44 nice! There’s a 19” monitor upgrade too, it has 4 built in sensors. The new version from Retro Shooters are better than mine in review and will only work with 4 sensors in corners vs 2 that I have.
I want retro shooter for my mortal kombat 2 deluxe arcade1up(already hack with cheap arcade box)but i dont know how i will plug my 2 usb encoder( player 1 and 2) in pandora retro shooter
I assume that is the 2 players controller board. What a waste of space. They told me I can get the stock option and spend another $20 to get the 2 players upgraded controller board for 6 action buttons. I would def get a real steel faux coin door for easier front access to the box. I don't understand people using fake 3D print or Aracde1UP style coin door that's ugly and impractical. Is it really that hard to cut a square hole in the kick plate? like seriously.
You could really take advantage of the other 430+ games with the 6 button control deck. I just wanted the holsters in deck, definitely have options with this kit. I know lol but some either don’t want to or are worried about modding and cutting in to the cab.
@@PDX7 So I'm still waiting for my kit . I recess the stock monitor back. Will the IR work if I drill the recess monitor frame and use that instead of the front frame?
The 2 player deck has 6 buttons, I honestly just wanted the shooting games but loving the other games too. I went with 1 player deck because I didn’t want to mount guns on the side. Thanks for watching 👊
oh Wii style 2 IR sensor type guns/ This will NOT be a good experience for lightgun play! Aimtracks have been and always will be garbage and this uses the same tech. Sindens, Gun4IR or the new Props3d guns (maybe) when/if they ever release!
They are much better than Aimtraks and Wii. Of course, Gun4ir is better, but you're also paying a lot more. We do, however, have a T2 bezel kit with embedded IRs for Gun4ir as well.
@@BuyStuffArcades If the point of aim for the retro shooter is the same as the (simulated) point of impact and the tracking is fast enough to keep up with twitch movements then a light gun is doing everything I could ask a light gun to do. If a lightgun fails to meet either of the above criteria then it is as useful as a flat tire on your car! There is no such thing as a better or worst light gun. There is accpetable and uncceptable IMO! If both gun4ir and retro shooter guns were able to meet the criteria mentioned then both would be great light guns! I personally haven't seen a dual IR sensor gun that fell into the acceptable catagory so my experience would lead me to conclude that these won't be either. I have also seen reviews of the Chinese Retro shooter's and they also indicated these were not a great light gun experience! If you have to have crosshairs turned on and steer the crosshairs to the target then you are just using a funny shaped controller and not a light gun! If you can aim the lightgun and hit targets, that is how a gun works and therefore that is how a light gun ( arcade gun simulator) should work! You can make a Gun4IR for around $100/each for basic versions without vibration and recoil, a bit more with.
@@mynameisprivate158 I don’t think you’ve actually tried the Retro Shooters, have you? They might not be for you, but hundreds of people are having great fun with them and that is okay!
Thats a pretty sweet mod, T2 cheap and this is about the best affordable dedicated shooter that has some good games selection. The box that runs all this has an RK3566 which is a pretty good pcb and the same one Glen is bringing us on the iircade, via Viperboard. How do you rate these g.ns compared to the stock T2's. I am waiting to see how the iircade shakes out with GlenOdeck and Viperboard since I invested in the SInden, but if I didnt have the SInden, I owuld go this route for sure.
