Hey Jai, Andy, the founder of Aviron here. Appreciate you taking the time to review our product. Let me jump right into addressing those pain points: Casting - Yeah, that’s a bummer. It's definitely not intentional - casting should work. I've tested it on Google Chrome Cast, Google Home Hub and some TVs. Sounds like a glitch we need to figure out - I just tried it on another TV and wasn't able to get it to work. We're on it and hope to have it fixed ASAP. Remote Resistance on the Handlebar - Totally get your point about the foam. That was an after-the-fact addition. We've tweaked the design to make it easier to swap out, but we’ve got a few hundred machines to sell first. That's why you still have to painfully remove it even though its new. If you check out the remote assembly instructions, you can see there are instructions for the old and the new version. Seat - The original seat is hard to ensure durability, especially for gym use, and it provides support for posture and energy transfer. This is standard even for on-water rowers. However, we understand it can be uncomfortable if you're not used to it. Straps - Same deal as the seat. Built to last and consistent with industry standards. Handlebar - We thought we hit the sweet spot on width, but hey, feedback noted. What's interesting is we probably have the widest handlebar (check out WaterRower). Typically handles aren't wide to mimic being on the water. We didn't want to look wacko by going too wide against the industry norm. Apple Support - We're 2-4 weeks away from launching Apple integration, which is currently in beta testing. As a smaller company, we have to prioritize our long list of tasks with limited resources. Rest assured, we are committed to building the best product possible. Your feedback is valuable. We have nothing to hide, we are really passionate about what we are doing. Give us some time. ok so you have a new model and you still could have taken the loss and sent out the new handlebar with me. I told your company I would be doing a review on it. Wouldnt it have made sense for me to get the new handlebar since you knew it was going to be put on my channel? Also what if i had a problem with the rower and for some reason it broke down, me cutting up the handle to swap it out for a cheap piece of plastic; wouldnt that void the warranty? Also why not have it GO OVER the old one and not be a replacement? Also, what about for blind or deaf people? 0 Accessibility? I have come to find out that even the Go rower with the Ipad would have been the better choice as I would have been able to bypass at least option 1. So you have a return policy, what if i wanted to return this and get the one with the ipad instead? Even the guy that you guys hired for your guided workouts said your handlebar was too small in width. So its not just me. And then for option 1, I think its the biggest - I understand to lock down android because one small thing could destroy and corrupt the system. At the same time, it not being able to cast is so many lost opportunities.
@@JaiHaze you're absolutely right - we should have sent out the model with the new handlebar. This was a poor judgment call by a member of our team. I'm looking into why it happened and will take steps to ensure it doesn't recur in the future. We take great pride in our customer service. If there were an issue such as damage to the belt, we're committed to fixing it or providing a replacement. Regarding the resistance controller, we were concerned it might look too bulky on top, given the battery and electronics. It's a bit thick in places. We're still evolving in terms of accessibility; as a startup, our product is in its early stages. Addressing this is on our roadmap. About the handlebar width - I completely agree with you. It's a fantastic suggestion. Our product isn't perfect, but it's constantly evolving with valuable feedback. As for casting, we also agree it's crucial and are working on fixing what we believe is a bug. An update should resolve this issue soon. In the meantime, we're happy to send you the bracket for the Go, allowing you to swap out your screen for an iPad.
All valid points and it would take so little on their part to make it a great product but apparently they are content to be second best to Peloton, games or not.
More power to you for being able to workout at home. FOR ME if I'm working out at home... I just won't do it... If I'm at the gym, I'm gonna force myself to workout. This kind of thing by companies is a pain. You buy something but they lock you out of doing things. Very short sighted as creators are a good way for products to be seen. Not.being able to share is bad. Connectivity acros platforms in todays world should standard and is easily achieved as many things do it already. I hope they are sending you the new bars free of charge as to destroy something to make something else work after you have spent all that money is taking the pss as is the seat upgrade.
Complaints about wanting a wider bar are legitimate. Beyond simply behaving a bigger frame than most users, having a wider bar would let us change our grip spacing and would allow us to more fully work those muscles.
If this is an android, let's just jailbreak it......🙂 I had 2 that are tilted, due to bad welding in the frame. This is bad QA. The company is getting stuff fro. China, so QA isnt their area. Also the $89 heart rate monitor is a $25 monitor that comes from china. They just slap their name on it. If you want one, just look it with google on a reverse picture search. Oh my welds on both rowers had rust.......probably from the shipping from china.
I take my hat off, jai i really do. Its a little crazy to me (a normal cyclist) you decided to do rowing. I'll probably have to give in to a electric bike, as i get older. I'm not young and have triple brain damage if you include addiction. Which btw is much more damaging to the brain than the stroke and bleed I've had. I'm going to continue for as long as possible. One modern thing that's cool. I honestly feel like i was born 100 years to late or 200 too early. As ever digression.
@JaiHaze well I am sorry but you were complaining that you couldn't connect your apple watch with an android computer. I just simply told you why they won't connect.
But they do… peloton connects to Apple Watch and that’s android, same with hydrow. You also can’t chrome cast from android to android with this but can on other androids. You focused on one thing but it’s even wrong
@alvinlee-et1mj what exactly are you talking about? as a service technician for almost 30 years in this field every word that you typed is incorrect. in the modern era all devices CAN and often do communicate to each other. running certain software on non-compatible or out of date devices is 1 thing. but doing something like casting or pairing uses completely separate technology and protocols as defined by the IEEE. for example, Bluetooth, ZigBee, and Wi-Fi are such protocol standards for short- range wireless communications. that are not proprietary to a single software or hardware manufacturer. but specifically universal protocols that manufactures use to ensure communication with devices of other manufacturers. this IS WHAT a protocol standard is. by definition. and why manufacturers use them. to ensure communications with devices outside of their own proprietary ecosystem. what do you think IBM compatible even means? Android and Apple are both non-IBM products. however, Windows PC's, Apple Computers, Android devices, and Linux based operating systems on a computer, or other device, can all communicate to each other and send and receive data and file share using a standardized protocol SUCH AS, WI-FI and Bluetooth. YOU CAN'T however run specific programs or applications, on the other devices. Microsoft office for example, YOU can NOT run the ISO version or EXE on an apple computer, YOU need the DMG version. but it is the same program, designed to work with the specific operating system. Communications between those devices are common, again using a standardized protocol. IT'S literally why they HAVE standardized protocols FOR SHORT range communications. this is why you can use such a protocol, for example a JPEG, and send it from any of the devices to another, and open and view it on any of the other devices. this is WHY you can use ANY Bluetooth headset on ANY device that has Bluetooth NOT just AirPods on an iPhone. but YOU can also use AirPods on a windows PC or android phone and vice versa. do some research before you make such a confident incorrect comment, PLEASE. you sound ignorant.
