Buyers guide along with check points and some common faults with the fn2 type r !! Hope you find this helpful. If so please like share and subscribe !! Follow us @stealthbrotherz
Useful video. One thing I'd add is before starting the car, turn the ignition on and check all the dash lights illuminate, especially error/check engine lights, and that they then go off once you start it. Unscrupulous sellers can hide engine faults by removing the bulb/soldering a resister to disable that and hide the fault.
Hey man, thanks for the quality content, keep the videos coming! Would love to upgrade from my punto to a type r this summer. Gonna keep researching and hopefully get a good deal. Cheers, Danny
+dannyboie9 that's awesome news brother. My first car was a punto 😁 you'll love the type r just keep patient when the time comes you'll be glad you waited for the right one trust me. Such sick cars.
thats a top guide to buying a car, i do most of the things you do, and i take my time, because it's my money i have to part with, lucky that jack never landed on your foot, and i hate that sub frame click, it's easy enough to fix, brother i would deffo go for a double din, especially now that the android double dins have come a long way since they first came out, you would just need a double din facia and a connects 2 wiring kit, brother keep up the good videos, i always look forward to one of your videos to come out
+Jay Khan thank you brother. Glad you enjoi the channel. Yeah was thinking that when the jack fell would've broken my toe lol. Yeah I need one of those double dins. The android ones are great now the prices are down. Thanks again for the comment bro 👊
Massive thanks to stealth brothers for the great intel! Without your guidance I would have made a terrible investment on a 2010 FN2 Type R GT which I am happy I did NOT buy!!! Keep it moving forward bruvs.
I would definitely buy an aftermarket double din / sat nav if I could. I have the GT model with the factory built in sat nav so if i remove the stereo I will be left with a big blank screen above lol
laughing me fucked up 4 the jack that fell!!!😂😂😂 But great vid bro!! keep it coming! I also have a FN2, got it 3months now. 2007 Red GT model. 94 000km on the clock. much luv from CAPE TOWN, South Africa 🙋
illie 33 haha thanks for the comment brother. Lucky didn't hit my foot 😂. Nice to hear your loving the car and vids brother. South Africa that's awesome thanks for tuning in 👊
Hi mate. Love the videos. Glad to have just joined the Fn2 club myself. Wish I had joined it before! My car has 63 k on clock and fsh, 2 owners. Just had service from dealer I bought from and I want to get the valve clearances and transmission fluid changed. When should the cam belt/chain be done and also the auxiliary belt that I can see on left of engine? Cheers
+Nicholas May hi mate awesome you've joined the fn2 movement 👊 yeah good to get the valve clearances checked. Aslong as these cars are well serviced the chain should last the lifetime of the engine. All belts and the chain will be checked up on when you take it in for a major service at the recommended 75k miles mark. These cars are bulletproof when looked after man. Such good cars. 👊👊
+Ryan Davies cheers brother. Yeah there such good cars. And it's just the gt models that have the folding mirrors buddy 👍 although some can have a mod done quite easily to make them fold.
Do these feel quick enough? I'm in the market for my second car as I want more speed (currently have a 2 litre BMW) my cheaper options are this or a Subaru WRX, trying to see if I can buy something like this outright before I have to finance sometimes else.
+Matty Abbey cheers man really appreciate the support. EBay seems to be a hotspot of your not going genuine. There are some genuine mugen sand a good selection on there. Other wise I'd go directly to the manufacturers i.e. Mugen or feels who do some nice parts for them too. www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.hondatwincam.co.jp/&ved=0ahUKEwi70qrkloHTAhXLAMAKHWqwDyYQFggdMAA&usg=AFQjCNHU2j3TJLGtmyaxIoejgt5AmWf0-w&sig2=YnC2B-UwYGWNYQMKTa98pw
Shaz Ali you could do but not fully necessarily computers sometimes take you away from the feel of the car. If there was some sort of warning light on I'd use it then of ask the owner to sort it of knock some money off brother
Mate the one reason you drive a car is to see if there is any knocks etc in the suspension so what you on about it’s best to check by just turning the wheel at a standstill, you can’t hear any noises from the springs and the actual shock if it ain’t moving
State the obvious doesn’t everyone go on a test drive ? However Top mounts bearings make a prominent noise at standstill and fade as your moving as there’s less strain on them once rolling. It’s a well known fact 😎
The engines in these are pretty bulletproof, if you follow the instructions in this video and there's nothing wrong you'll be fine. I've seen examples with 200k miles that still drive strong.
When warm put the car in reverse and at tickover with the handbrake on slowly release the clutch. The engine should start to stall. If it squeals the clutch is on the way out.
