Thank you for your time to put this video together. I've just bought a Canon 7D mark ii with a cf flash slot and I hadn't a clue what this meant! At least now, I can research the best cf card to buy for my needs. Thanks again Ben
I have a Transcend CF Card UDMA 7 400x 32 GB. The camera I'm using it in is a Canon XF 100 Camcorder. When I first stuck it in to the camcorder it wouldn't record.Kept telling me I needed to initialize (format I guess) the card within the camcorder in order to start filming/record. But when I attach the CF card to my computer to look at the footage, it only comes up in data files and I can't see video. I tried opening them in the video editing software I have and with all media forms available on my computer (iTunes, Quicktime, Multi-media Player and also pro tools. How can I convert this data into video so I can see it ?
Hi there, great video about memory cards. I'm actually trying to find out how to determine the health of a Compact Flash card. I'm having a couple of shoot in the next few month & it would be nice to know that it won't fail on me while I'm on the field. I'm also considering on keeping the setting on backup mode where it copies the one file on Card 1 and then again on Card 2. Do you think this is a good idea?..
