So, Tyler's daughter has been driven to school in a Rolls Royce Phantom, then a Maybach 57, then her mom's Bentley Bentayga, and now this Maybach 62. Someone at her school who is not familiar with Hoovie's Garage might be wondering why there are not armed security guards accompanying the young lady to school ;-)
My gf's daughter went to private school in Silicon Valley. Mom took her to work in a Subaru wagon. Her classmates were in the first Tesla's, Rolls, Porsche and Land Rovers. One classmate's mom had something like Google employee badge #8...but no Maybachs...
The cheapest Maybach 62 in Germany is currently listed for like 62k Euro (incl. tax), so I do really consider that you got an amazing deal on this car. Especially also the limited production run. This car will be part of automotive history.
These kids are GOLD! If it is scripted- then their acting is on point. If it was not- the kiddo with an attitude is seeing places. And the mini Tyler- priceless. Also- her singing was on point. Get her to music lessons.
Hoovie, your daughter was absolutely adorable and hilarious in this video. Thanks for the laughs and the quality content. But I also have to say that I'm mad at you for putting this one on my radar, because now I'm looking for my own $40,000 Maybach 62 to use as my family hauler. 😅
Travel the Barrett Jackson circuit. Lots of great cars. But it's not a bad idea to take a mechanic with you. Many of those cars are pigs with lipstick applied by experienced professionals.
@@respawn76 Ummmm. Maybe because you wrote "because now I'm looking for my own $40,000 Maybach 62 to use as my family hauler." smh .. There are several Barrett Jackson auctions around the country now. That's where you might look if you want to find random scars. Besides they are fun. Used to go to the Scottsdale auction yearly. Maybe you were just big talking. Sorry.
@@boyracer3477 That reply wasn't to you. It was to wojak telling me the golden rule was no kids on YT. For the record, your advice was actually welcome and useful. :)
What's the catch of owning one at such a highly depreciated value? I know for one is out of warranty, but would the repair costs explain such a depreciation?!
Refreshing to see someone excited by a car. My opinion is that if you don't giggle just a little as you walk to your super car, you don't deserve it. Great deal! My kids would freak over it, I'd hope. Bought a custom van with sink,TV, tables and special lighting, but they say it's a "Hooptie Van", whatever that is.
Funny, I bought an immaculate used 88’ BMW 750 v12 in 1990 with only 20,000mi for $30,000 from a judge that had a stroke and could not drive. He had paid ~$90,000. I also had two young kids and it worked wonderfully for us for eight years and sold for $20,000 to a BMW mechanic who was clearly not afraid of it. Everyone told me I was crazy to own a 750 due to huge operating costs. I was incredibly lucky and only had normal maintenance. Nicest car I have ever owned and I truly enjoyed. Now I am retired and have virtually no interest in this type of vehicle. I hope Hoovie is able to enjoy like I did!
E32 were from the "good era" of bmw, and 750 was the king of the road in -88, no matter what brand. Now that isnt to say they were faultless, but pretty good. Glad you got to enjoy it as it should be.
The wizard and the rest of the crew definitely should get a “test ride” in the back when you take it for the wizard assessment. It would be a great shop truck to get the lunches and coffee for them while fixing your other projects!
I had a friend who bought a Mercedes for 10%. It was no longer in warranty. There is a reason the price crashes then...He was an absolute genius mechanic. Unfortunately, he has passed away, and his wife is not...so there it sits, gathering dust.
@@EFFEZE you must illiterate. The original comment is remarking on how Hoover's kids remind him of when his kids were that age. What's creepy about that?

Your kids are awesome! They deserve to be chauffeurd around in a half a million dollar limousine all the time. Good for them. I hope they understand just what status this indicates they have achieved, in the few years they have been collecting status as human beings. You must be very proud of them. What an accomplishment!
I'm glad for all his success, and I understand that he needs to keep buying exiting "youtube-able" cars, but when I think of Hoovie, I think of a huge boat car and Mercedes guy. I'm glad he found this one, it really suits him.
At this point, Tyler has everyone from a 2000s Fortune 500 company’s. The Maybach for the Founder and President, The SLR for the CEO, the SLS for the CFO, the old 300 D he used to have was the third floor accountants car that has been with the company since day one. The AMG he gave to magic Mike is the hot shot salesman I could go on ad nauseam.
I think it's a really good deal. Total premium mercedes, last before neon and touchscreen madness. If it's in perfect condition its a best buy : 🙂 I have cls500amgpack 2005, its mostly have same tech - awesome car. But mine is totaled by interior and exterior:))
This video is a perfect example of everything you do well, which has brought you success. Make what appears to be a bonehead decision, sincerely make the best of the situation, and just be the genuine family guy with his arsenal of dad jokes and puns. Appreciate what you do and hope to shake your hand and tell you in person someday. All the best
@@piccalillipit9211 Wouldnt his post say "edited" (just as mine currently does) if he changed it? Because, no other considerations about it, the referenced post does contain a spelling error currently. So if he hasnt changed his post, he is correct.
@@piccalillipit9211 I guess you still don't know how to spell "lick". Google it. Where do you see a grammatical issue here? If I made one, I have no problem with having it pointed out. I have no problem learning. When you have to stoop to childish name calling, you will always lose. I just made a quick humorous comment about your mental error. We all make them. That is something we all do. When we do it, a friend will often make a quip about it. Do you always attack friends for commenting on you faux pas? Do you have friends? Get your panties untwisted now.
@@alexanderratisbona6614 400k then? As a BMW owner, I can tell you first hand that German engineering is just horrible. Every stupid thing they can come up with to make it cost more to work on!
Great deal! At $40,000! It’s better to do this with these expensive high end cars. Wait some years then get one in good condition. Low or lower miles. This would be a car great for kids. You must have a very understanding wife to be able to do these kind of things. Usually wives don’t like it. Great deal! Love the color too. Inside and out.
You must have the most understanding and (obviously) beautiful wife. It goes without saying your children are just spoilt rotten, but what else can you do with them. (Then again I am British so I believe all children should be cleaning chimneys or digging coal - anything to pay for their parents gin). God Bless you Hoovie. You are truly blessed.
Fellow Brit chiming-in to say: (Hello and Hi from Oxfordshire, firstly - and then..) We had a chimney cleaner round the other day and I was annoyed to discover that the attending chap was not, in case of fact, the Dickensian urchin-like youth I had expected; somewhat dispelling said quaint notion. Also all OUR (deep) coal mines are closed... ;) ... Annnd... I don't think that 62 would fit down my road to be honest!! :)
Hoovie's mentioned in past videos that his wife encourages the hooptie buying. I bet she's just as much of a car nerd as him. She just doesn't want to be on camera as much lol.
My friend and I are big Maybach aficionados. He is currently in the process of buying a 57S. The partition is in fact extremely rare, and you got this car for a steal. Was excited to see the video for this after your post in 04 Rich. A fun side note: Celine Dion still owns hers, and she still dealer services it.
I have been watching this channel, for years... Today's episode was easily the most entertaining homage to the Good Life yet! Well done to everyone involved 👏
i was thinking about that, if you can rotate the window spray nozzles to the side maybe you can spray some bystanders as you drive past. better yet take em off and tape the tubes to the side to give em a real soaking
Even a Maybach is not kid proof.😆 "Don't make Daddy stop this Maybach and make you do your homework, young lady." Congrats on a great car and a great family too.
I was lucky to have access to Wayne Newtons Chrysler Executive Limo, this was back in 1985 when he had property in the Poconos. Basically an extended k car, very cramped up front.
I thought "damn I'd pay $50k for that anyday" so I started looking online. Cheapest base model I could find is $200k. Top model with the convertible rear is online for $2,000,000. Needless to say it'll be awhile before we can find one IN THIS CONDITION for $50k 😂
@@markwright3161 I did a quick 5 min search on a generic site like carfax and found like 5 of them around this price range similar year though. Maybe he's in a different country?
I sat in one of these at the Meadowbrook Concourse De Elegance. At the time there was much to do about the rear seats being first class airline seats. Lots of stuff that breaks.
@@dieselfixr 1:05 - 1:07 you can see the shadow of the drone. I think the panning shot inside was also his drone and the panning shots outside of the car.
I laughed out loud pretty damn hard when I saw the juice pouches and snacks in-between the back seats where billionaires would have hid their coke lol.
I recall parking just outside the Maybach manufacturing facility in late 2004, inside the Mercedes-Benz factory area in Sindelfingen. It was the first and only time I saw a parking lot with only Maybach cars.
Funniest thing on the internet today is Hoovie shutting the partition to keep out the kids' singing, only for them to switch on the intercom. I properly laughed at that one. The look of utter defeat on Tyler's face in that moment is a familiar one to any parent.
Absolutely incredible. I was 13 when this car was new and I remember seeing these at NAIAS. To say I’m envious of you with this car at that price is an absolute understatement. Congrats, Tyler!!
Madness? What's the worst that can happen? It's not going to damage the car, the worst thing that can happen is break a rotor or something on the drone which is easily replaceable.
I'd really love to see a RU-vid creator mashup of Hoovie, Fab Rats & Matt's off-road. Hoovie buys a hooptie 4x4, Fab Rats fixes & mods it then Matt rescues Hoovie when he inevitably gets stuck/breaks down.
It's funny, of all the channels about cars, trucks.. you name it, Hoovie, Fab Rats and Matt's Off-Road are the ones I watch regularly too. I'll throw in WatchJRGo for the extra Kansas connection and Robby Layton for extra Utah..
How about Western Chaplain ? Now we respectfully understand that Western wouldn't fit in the drivers seat, his remedy would be to extend the steering colum to the back seat ,add some more turbos, drag wheels and tyres, but hide the Snacks 😎 RedneckMaybach
Starting out with our first 3 kids we had a ford crown vic that was great for 3 kids. We ended upgrading to a minivan when we had a 4th kid. We for a few years used the vic as our commuter car for work. Once the vic had a bad rusted frame that broke apart and took out the steering we replaced it with a Toyota Camry that gets 10mpg better fuel economy.
I am curious if insurance companies will give full coverage on a car like this. Parts so rare and expensive it could be tough to fully insure a car like this
This has been my ultimate dream car since it’s debut. Many years later I decided to convert a hearse into a similar experience. Beautiful piece of automotive history
And ....I walked......8-10 km. And my first car was a early 80s Ford escort with a hatch beaten in by a front end loader and no engine. Seriously. Bought a car 2 years younger from a guy who had the rear end beaten off in a drunk driving accident. Made the engine fit. Hockey pucks! Very useful! Wiring harness was different. Alligator clips are also useful. Lol.
I knew his daughter was going to play the role of Queen sitting in the back like the owner perfectly. The bit with the partition and intercom was by far the best thing about the whole video. Just imagine when that girl grows up and wonders why everyone else is so "poor" and drives really awful cheap normal cars.
I had a friend who followed the same logic for his blended family of 5 kids. Instead of a gas sucking SUV or mini-bland, he bought a used Lincoln limousine...not a super stretch but big enough for everyone with facing back seats and all the toys of a limo. He put a roof rack and hitch on it to tow a tent trailer. And he paid so much less that a used trendy SUV or van and parts are cheap like Russian tank scrap. Another great review. When are you going to tow a trailer with it? The world is waiting. 😆
The tech might be old but I am amazed it depreciated so much when everything else is so awesome. But I’m sort of glad it did so we get this look at it. Stock up on spare parts unless you are going to sell it down the road. This is pretty cool and I wonder if JR is jealous
And damn! I had heard of the ultra-exclusive Maybach cars years earlier. I saw one driving on the stop and go Hollywood Freeway traffic in 2007. I grabbed a picture of it too. It was a Maybach 62, with dealer paper plates.
That is an awesome family hauler. My wife and daughter would own the back seat. Now when the first repair bill comes...Can't wait until Wizard starts pricing out Gultstream private jets once he gets paid. :)
Well, considering just a regular inspection could run you a million bucks or even more on a Gulfstream, I don't think Wizard, even with Hoovies maintenance work will ever be able to afford one. Probably cost nearly 2 million a year for the airplane and 4 pilots as employees to run one of those. Most large private jets have at lease 4 pilots so the airplane is never grounded for lack of crew.
A great minivan, I agree. If I ever could convince my wife, I'd drive one, too. You just have to appreciate the engineering and attention to detail on these things, absolutely Fabolous. If they had a designer as good as the engineers, the brand would have put RR out of business. But everything happens for a reason. Enjoy the experience and don't just sell it again only because you have to pay 10 grand for a headlight, please. I sure hope this one will stick around.
On TuneIn NPR radio show, car talk, the mechanic brother hosts joked that a car with a partition is perfect for kids, thanks hoovie, you proved them correct:) brilliant :)
