Hes confused with the 500 quadzilla. That was the banshee killer. The 250 wouldnt stand a chance.

Stock for stock the lt250r motor makes more power and will indeed beat a banshee like i said stock vs stock........................

oh and it is the lt500r that was called the banshee killer and the lt250 88-92 power valve motor is the one i'm talking about not the early 85-86....

Sounds like the rod bearing is shot. That happens on the CR500s as well. The little caged roller bearing where the piston pin and the rod meet... when it's time to do a top-end the cage roller bearing sometimes just decides to crap out and it will make that ticking and rattling noise. But a side note, it could just be a bunch of random loose nuts and bolts too. them things shake like Jack hammers ya know?

And as far as people using the stock pipe I've seen it before people do the craziest stuff. Honestly really wouldn't surprise me. Thankfully it's a 2 stroke and they're not that reactive to pipe changes a lot of people think you need to do crazy jetting changes with a new pipe and you don't. At least not for me. I have an FMF gnarly on my CR250 I left the jetting alone and my plug is still a chocolatey Brown. And that's with the stock jetting. I'm not saying the pipe doesn't change the characteristic of the power because it does my bike clearly has more low-end then it did before but it's also sacrificing top end to get it. but still not sacrificing a lot at all. It probably will drastically change the power curve but not really drastically change the jetting. That's all I'm saying I can only go by what FMF recommended to me and they literally recommended me my stock jetting. But then again I do live at sea level and maybe that has a factor as well. I imagine when you live at or near sea level the jetting probably doesn't fluctuate all that often so my statement is definitely open for criticism but this is just what I have discovered on my own and from other mechanics near me. I do all my own work and I can only speak for myself at the end of the day.

@@nitroboynik stock vs stock the quadzilla kills the banshee. Just so much more aftermarket support for the banshee. But mod the 500 to its potential and it would be tough to find a banshee to beat it

I should add on here as well doing a big bore isnt easy on these, on a stock cylinder you can get up to a 69.7mm piston if I remember right but then your only at 265 cc, getting an actually big bore done will put you well over 1000 bucks, you need to remove the old sleeve machine the cylinder, install the new sleeve, machine the cases to accept the larger sleeve, then you've have to port the new sleeve to the desired specs for the application, you'll need either a piston from something else like a trx big bore that has the correct dimensions or get a custom wossner piston made, on top of that already you need to remachine the head to match the squish to the larger piston and last youd need to order custom gaskets from cometic. Its alot of work and money to pull off on one these quads. I'll be doing one on mine but be a 296-318cc if I stay stock stroke.

It doesn't take an expert to tell a clapped out quad from a mint one. This kid is just so clueless its hilarious. Its pretty obvious this kid doesn't learn from time and experience.

The reason he doesn't learn is cause he never truly fixes anything...puts a little paint and cosmetic stuff then ships it off to the next guy

I had a quad racer that would smoke a STOCK banshee. It was modified of course. Now a modified Banshee , would beat me in a drag race but not necessarily on the track.

Hahaha this is funny my brother and his friend they have ltr250 big bore, and a 521 cub banshee and the quad racer wins every time

I wouldn't sell the banshee for that thing the money he would make out of it would have to be put in that quad racer

Banshee is better for sure but the one he just got ain’t junk easy to rebuild motor

I just bought a stock banshee with Toomey pipes and I think I need to rejet it because sometimes it bogs or it has a hard time cutting on. I usually stand the bike on it’s two back wheels until the carburetor leaks out and it kicks over on the first kick every time. I just don’t know what jets to put it the carburetor. I stayed in Columbia Sc, density altitude is between 2800-2200 ft and the temperature is between 90-80 degrees. Oh yeah I also clean the carburetor and it is still bogging and hard start. Do you have any idea on what I should do?

@@bronxnm if you can tell me the jet size I can give an ideal on what area you need to be in. But with what you said I would think a 27.5or30 pilot jet and maybe between a 270&290 main jet. But I can say for sure. Do you still have the TORS on mine was really boggy when I bought it the first thing I did was get rid of the TORS and all was good. Hope this helps if you have anymore qeustion just ask good luck

Main jet is 290 Pilot jet is 25 Float needle was on the 3rd groove, but I changed it to the 4th groove to have it tune for the k&n filter and the t5 pipe. I also found out that the left carburetor float wasn’t at its normal spec so I bent the tab to get it to 21mm. My gas and oil ratio is 32:1 using red line two stroke racing oil. Oh yea the TORS is disconnected too

@@bronxnm I would try a 280 and I would think 25 would be to lean I would try a 27.5 and bring it back to the 3rd groove on the needle, adjust the idle screw all the way out make slide drop all the way then adjust idle screw in until you feel the slides move and then once they start moving go 2.5 turns in then adjust the slides to the center of the glass eyes up top. Then turn the air/fuel screws all the way in and then turn 1.5 turns out and then start it and you should be able to fine tune from there. There is some good video on how to synchronize carbs on southern Texas banshee he has lots of great videos to help I think the videos name on his channel is called how to synch carbs.
