Congratulations! I'm really happy for her. I like the new center console on the Chattanooga built models. After VW goes back to actual buttons on the steering wheel, the ID.4 will be even more fantastic.

McKayla, if you have 2nd thoughts about the extended warranty you can probably request a refund from the dealer (has to be done in writing). We got an extended warranty, but immediately regretted the purchase and after looking at the contract ours indicated we had 60 days to cancel; they did process it without any hesitation but it takes about 6 weeks to finalize. Congratulations on your new ID.4!!!

I took delivery of mine this past Saturday. Same exact model and color! It’s been a few days, and I’m still smiling from ear to ear.

McKayla, congratulations on making such an excellent choice. You look stunning in the ID 4 Pro S. I liked the car's aesthetics, especially the color, which is kinda unique.

We had a reservation for an AWD ID.4 from August 2021 to February 2022. That’s when we got an update from VW that we could expect to be waiting another six months for delivery. I did find an ID.4 at the Ed Carroll dealership but we live in far western Colorado. I just happened to see that a Hyundai dealer in Grand Junction had an Ioniq 5 on their lot we could test drive. We eventually bought the I5 and have very happy with it. I suspect we would have been happy with the ID.4 as well. BTW the Hyundai dealer in Grand Junction recently opened a public ChargePoint DC 62-125 kw charger on their lot. It is right off I-70.

Yeah, I can vouch for the "charge on 110v" being livable, I do it with my Bolt. It all depends on your usage. Even if it falls a little short, there's enough battery to "buffer" the shortages and you can compensate on the weekend

Very nice choice of EV. One the most comfortable riding eSUV on the market today, if not THE most comfortable. And I love the Pure Gray colour. Well done McKayla.

We‘ve had our grey ID4 Pro since mid-December 20221. We‘ve traveled 17.400 miles, happy, quiet, enjoyable and relaxing miles inside Germany where we live and on trips to the Netherlands, Alsace, Denmark, UK, France and Spain. The 3.0 OTA update came through a month ago. We love all of the features mentioned in the video. Best car by a long shot that we’ve ever owned and driven. And IMHO the best bang for your buck which was also a deciding factor for us. We charge and park on the street. No real problems so far.

I have test driven the 2023 ID.4 twice already and planning to buy soon. And I'm grateful for this video because I have learned new tips and tricks already. Thanks and God bless

We’ve had our 22 Moonstone Gray rwd for a month and a half and love it. We also have the latest software(3.1) and have lane changing when in Driver Assist. Congrats to McKayla on her new ID.4!

I would consider the ID.4 more but lacking the heat pump and living in Wisconsin was a big factor for me. I’m not sure lack of the heat pump was mentioned in this video and maybe less of an issue in Colorado.

Great video. A VW dealer told me the rear bench slides front and back in the upcoming 2023 AWD ID4. Can you verify if hers is stationary or on tracks? Would help with fitting stroller and large dogs in cargo area. Thanks Kyle and team! 🙏

I'm replacing a model 3 lease this year and the ID.4 is quickly rising to the top of my list. I like the E-GMP cars, but the price point is pushing it and a Model Y has become ludicrously expensive. The real drawback for me is I live in a non-supercharger charging desert. The only level 3 charging for 100 miles is at car dealerships :/. Hopefully that'll change soon and/or Tesla will open up the SC network here in the states.

I always enjoy hearing Alisa's observations, and was delighted to "meet" McKayla. They're definitely sisters! Love that the ID.4's binnacle moves with the steering column: a much better solution for clear visibility than Tesla's yoke, IMHO. Also love the capacitance steering wheel, as I'm fed up having to apply torque in my Model 3 on AP.

VW needs to start paying you commissions! I ordered mine about 2 months ago, after watching many OoS videos. I was nervous about the infotainment system (still am), but it was a gamble that made sense based on the closest competitor being $15-$20k more after dealer markups. Thank you VW for keeping your dealers in line. Such bad brand management by Kia/Hyundai with the crazy bait and switch tactics.

Awesome car. Question, my wife bought the Toyota BZ4x and paid over $30 to charge at 80% Price was Same as buying gasoline. Is this normal depending where you charge or something wrong with the charging station? Supposed to be way cheaper otherwise it defeats the purpose of buying electric. I can tell she doesn't care about flooring it from zero to 60 or what the top speed may be. She's truly a responsible and mature driver.

That’s actually my story of how I bought my 2023 Bolt EUV exactly. It had basically everything I wanted plus the redline and illuminated charging port. I really got lucky with how few there were in stock where I live.

Just got mine today! But no floor mats, should I go back and demand them? Also you told her not to get the extra coverage, I did. Should I go back and remove that?

Hey Kyle! Absolutely love the channel! You guys are killing it with the EV content! I'm hoping you can help. The blue Power Display on my 2023 ID.4 AWD Pro S has never indicated full/maximum power after 1,600 miles and 3.5 months of ownership. Although it does not feel sluggish, I'm concerned that there is an issue with the battery or drivetrain that is restricting me from accessing maximum power. The blue Power Display only shows ~85% full when the SoC is 90% and ambient temps were at least 53F. The drive mode was set to Sport and I had temporarily turned off the Battery Care Mode as I had read a footnote in the Owners Manual that suggested I needed a SoC of 88% or greater for max power. Although the ambient temps were only 53F, I do not believe this would be considered cold enough to prevent the battery from maintaining its ideal operating floor temp of 73.4F. I think the only proof that I would have of a battery/powertrain restriction is to throw it on a dyno, but that is not feasible. Any other ideas or solutions?

I bought a pre-owned 2022 ID4 AWD Pro S with 12k miles on it, I liked the old center console set up better with the arm rests that fold up out of the way. It's running 3.1 which is stable and responsive. I got it for just over 30 grand after California's $2k used EV rebate. If VW upgrades the software, great, but what's on it is working well. Only gripe is getting your wallet out in the drive thru puts the car in park. That needs an off switch.

I see they made it look a little more muscular on the outside. And they changed the center console! Kinda like the individual arm rests on the 21’ better. But I bet the storage in the more traditional looking console is a bit better too.

If I were in the market for an EV this would be the one I would want. Sure there are flashier more expensive ones but for just around town and a 75 mile radius it would be perfect. I'm an old guy so not sold on cross country EV driving. When I'm a little older and only driving short distances I plan to get one.

Hey Kyle, we just picked up our 2022 Germany built iD4 Pro S. We waited 14 months for it and are very excited and hope it works out really well. You have so many great videos but we're not in the market for a home charger and have heard that either Lectron or Juice Box work for this one. Can you send back a link in you have a home charger video? And could you do another update on McKayla's mom's new 2023 iD4? We live in northern Mass, near New Hampshire but our son goes to CSU so we're in Fort Collins every so often, so hope we can meet sometime! Our treat for lunch.

Sounds like ‘23 builds out of Chattanooga, TN do qualify for full $7,500 (since built in US), until the battery requirements take effect 01/01/23. Before 01/01/23 may be best time to buy!!

I am not sure if superchargers are open to non Teslas there, where I live in Europe it is open. However the supercharger cables are very short for the charging dock of the VW IDs, I need to take two bays to charge it.

If it is the etron-like charging curve, it is actually better than the peaky fast dropping curve.

That color will actually be called "Pure Gray". Moonstone Gray was on the 2022 German models. The colors are very similar, however they are different.

Wall outlet at home? How do you do that? It seems like the dealer gave you a level 1 EVSE. No one else gets them. And Weathertech floormats? That's special. The Weathertech website does not offer floormats for a 2023 ID.4.

We had or have the option for a 10 year B2B 150,000 mile warranty on our '22 Pro S AWD. Do you think we should have taken it? I know warranties in general are a scam, but with the amount of electronics in this car, I'm not sure. Thought?

think 2023 ID.4 are not "moonstone gray" anymore, new color is "pure gray". Did hers come with the wall outlet? My GF has one coming Dec-Feb. Don't know if should buy VW charger or aftermarket one, we live in apt.

My understanding is the 22+ ID4 will do about 170wh charging. I think you're going to find this will do well over 130wh.

McKayala or Kyle, do you know if this car built in Chattanooga qualifies for the federal tax rebate? The one we ordered is due at dealer between December 17 and January 6, and I think the battery requirements kick in January 1st. Thanks.

Kyle, please please do more videos on women buying EVs . It seems the EV market has been geared more toward men and women buy EVs for different reasons. I have a 2023 ID4 and love it. My first EV and I had some of the same questions/concerns as McKalya did. My first EV new car at age 50 and I love it. I got my car the same as McKayla, buyer backed out and I was on the lot looking at a used MachE. I'm a VW girl and waiting for the Buzz. Also if you have any pull with EA please ask them to design the stations where you can pull through to charge rather than backing up. It makes me so nervous to back up and its stupid they design charging stations where you can't pull through.

Is she having any software issues that everyone else is having? Considering getting an ID 4 but all the software problems I'm hearing about are starting to sway me in a different directions

What is the name of the color on this ID4? They have a few different gray colors available and it’s hard to tell on the website vs the color in real life.

That’s a 3.0 software. I really think VW has drop the ball with software upgrades on the iD4 on older models. I am upgrading to the Q4 E-Tron. The iD4 is a excellent car. Once the software is updated and improvements are made this can really be very competitive.

Did the dealer mark up the price over the MSRP? Here in SoCal I was offered a 2023 ID4 cancellation for $5000. I’ve heard of other dealers charging a $10,000 premium over MSRP. I told the dealer I would patiently wait for my order from Chattanooga to arrive. By the way, VW changed from moonstone gray to a darker pure gray in the 2023 model. It’s a little hard to tell from the video but if she got moonstone gray I believe she has a 2022.

that VW looks so nice.. wish we had charging stations where i am .. the first electrify america one is 2 hours away and other other one is 3 hours away... Tesla ones are 60 miles NE and 80 miles NW, which is about an hour and an hour 15 minutes. So i would be charging just at home no matter which ev i would choose. I like those Prostar 2 also but read that company was having some financial issues lately. Plus living this for south with 110 heat not sure how much it would drain the battery just with A/C, and trying to get out during hurricane evacuations with bumper to bumper traffic with chargers so far away would also be an issue I think .

Does the Ioniq 5 have an option like that where I can keep the climate running as I leave the car to plug in the charger? Or do I have to turn the car off, start charging, go back in and start the car to continue to warm the cabin while i wait for charging? Thanks!

Where does the power come from in CO? Electricity where I live is expensive, so I charge my plugin hybrid at night when PGE has the lowest rate. Can't afford pure electric. Wish my plugin had horsepower.
