I wouldn't have touched that bike. Bald rear tire, missing tins, too tall ape hangers, shotty workmanship. Those all add up to a young buck doing burnouts, fantasying about being a custom bike builder and playing an experienced wrench on weekends because his mom let him change the oil in her car when he was14. Then again, I'm an OG and know what I'm looking at.
Dude, I literally just bought a 1994 Dyna Wide glide with 20k miles on it for $3k cash straight off Facebook marketplace. Clear title. Rode it home, did full oil change, primary and spark plugs. Shes a top notch bike mechanicaly and cosmetically a 8.5 outta 10. ALWAYS TEST RIDE A BIKE BEFORE YOU BUY IT CASH. I wish you luck in the future with this money pit.
First of all, you need to buy yourself the right length cable. By yourself a front fender or you hate yourself when it rains. Also go through the whole Bike and make sure everything is tight. Those particular years are shakers. They’ll shake everything loose.
Sick bike! Good luck, sucks man some issues happened but Man, I miss them road trips picking up bikes a little further away then doing a whole new tune up on your own and getting that feeling.
I bought a 87 1100 in marketplace and the thing wouldn't keep running. The owner even said its leaking because its old. The thing had a blown rocker gasket and 883 jugs not even a 1100 jugs.
Umm I just bought stage 5 1992 1200 sportster I’m completely happy with my purchase and yes I had some repairs to do but it is like new again. My advice is don’t buy unless you know how to fix them because they require it
I had one on my 1998 Electra Glide ,I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't run right until a Harley guru said to me P off the power commander ,I did & have had no problems since
My guess, compensator needs to be replaced. Does it sound like a starter problem onces its been ridden for a bit? Or clunky went you try to start it? New compensator would fix it and you'll find neutral really easy.
@Jamescrev451 here were my symptoms. Cold start: was perfect. No issues. Rode for 10 to 15 miles. Stopped at the store or gas station. The restart hot was horrible. Clanking, starter acting like it was jamming. Or a big click and no power like my battery was low. Then started. Hard to find neutral. I was first told my starter clutch was bad. Nope, not it. The compensator springs collapsed. Installed a new comp and she was like new again. Zero issues.
@@Jamescrev451 Yup, without being there with a stethoscope to really pinpoint the knock. Sure sounds like the compensator springs are shot. Especially if that bike was beat on, which she has all the signs.
Hard to find N is that stupid heal toe shifter, I hate that thing. It's a nice bike, just needs a little love. If you got a good deal then keep and fix it.
Wheel bearings stuffed axle not supposed to spin , how long you been into bikes mate ? you'd be better off getting rid of that power commander rubbish ,it just piggy backs off the original ECU
1:57 forgot the girlfriend was there, thought the gentleman was saying hello 2:38. With the front end up, spin the wheel and see if the nut moves with it
