I still have not painted my Ranger but I have done a considerable amount of clean up and prep! I have been so busy for a year or so, working on other things, I'm sure you know sometimes your favorite project has to take a back burner for awhile! I can't wait to get more deliberate about it, I love this truck! It's my daily driver going to work, which racks up an astounding 40 miles a day to and from!! Your truck looks fantastic by the way, you should be very proud of your accomplishment!!! Thank you for your inspiration, because I need to see a very motivated and accomplished painting projects like your Ranger!!
I've owned both iron heads and evos and I luv them, (not the new models however, I hate them) When I was 16 I dreamed of a bored and stroked hot rod Sportster, and low and behold Harley created one, so I bought it! I luv the iron head sportsters cuz they rule as scramblers, the hill climb and dirt track champions for ages and IMO the best scrambler on planet earth, while my XL1200C chop is IMO the best all around street bike I have ever ridden! I've owned and wrenched all kinds of bikes from 4-cylinder Hondas, to Kawi triples, to Yami twins, and while I liked them I absolutely luv my Harleys and would not trade a semi load of anything else for them! They keep me alive cuz when I get down in this good for sh*t world a short ride on my Harley makes me smile, makes me happy, like none of the others ever could! I know why dogs gotta stick their heads out the car window, or luv ta ride in the back of a pickup truck, cuz this old dog luvs it too!
I want to do a solid green like rustoleum army green. It's kind of a tone between olive drab and sage green. I think the reason I'll go with rustoleum is because it's likely to be around awhile if I need to buy more later. Then I want to black out the XLT badges and the grille and grille trim. My reason for picking the color is when I'm parked in the wilderness it will blend in but on the highway and city overall it is a pretty visible color, less likely to be hit. I painted an Aveo Expresso rustoleum 2x latex. It's not terrible to me I like the look but the issue with it is that it's too dark especially for a small car people don't see the thing.
I bought a 87 1100 in marketplace and the thing wouldn't keep running. The owner even said its leaking because its old. The thing had a blown rocker gasket and 883 jugs not even a 1100 jugs.
Honestly, you have the first video I’ve seen on a Solid Axle OBS Chevy/GMC truck that is done with no apologies and it was informative for a guy like me. I am planning out my own build, and our core trucks are identical. I appreciate you sharing the video, and will check out the others.
Dude, I literally just bought a 1994 Dyna Wide glide with 20k miles on it for $3k cash straight off Facebook marketplace. Clear title. Rode it home, did full oil change, primary and spark plugs. Shes a top notch bike mechanicaly and cosmetically a 8.5 outta 10. ALWAYS TEST RIDE A BIKE BEFORE YOU BUY IT CASH. I wish you luck in the future with this money pit.
Umm I just bought stage 5 1992 1200 sportster I’m completely happy with my purchase and yes I had some repairs to do but it is like new again. My advice is don’t buy unless you know how to fix them because they require it
Sick bike! Good luck, sucks man some issues happened but Man, I miss them road trips picking up bikes a little further away then doing a whole new tune up on your own and getting that feeling.
First of all, you need to buy yourself the right length cable. By yourself a front fender or you hate yourself when it rains. Also go through the whole Bike and make sure everything is tight. Those particular years are shakers. They’ll shake everything loose.
1:57 forgot the girlfriend was there, thought the gentleman was saying hello 2:38. With the front end up, spin the wheel and see if the nut moves with it
Hard to find N is that stupid heal toe shifter, I hate that thing. It's a nice bike, just needs a little love. If you got a good deal then keep and fix it.
I wouldn't have touched that bike. Bald rear tire, missing tins, too tall ape hangers, shotty workmanship. Those all add up to a young buck doing burnouts, fantasying about being a custom bike builder and playing an experienced wrench on weekends because his mom let him change the oil in her car when he was14. Then again, I'm an OG and know what I'm looking at.
I had one on my 1998 Electra Glide ,I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't run right until a Harley guru said to me P off the power commander ,I did & have had no problems since
Wheel bearings stuffed axle not supposed to spin , how long you been into bikes mate ? you'd be better off getting rid of that power commander rubbish ,it just piggy backs off the original ECU
My guess, compensator needs to be replaced. Does it sound like a starter problem onces its been ridden for a bit? Or clunky went you try to start it? New compensator would fix it and you'll find neutral really easy.
@Jamescrev451 here were my symptoms. Cold start: was perfect. No issues. Rode for 10 to 15 miles. Stopped at the store or gas station. The restart hot was horrible. Clanking, starter acting like it was jamming. Or a big click and no power like my battery was low. Then started. Hard to find neutral. I was first told my starter clutch was bad. Nope, not it. The compensator springs collapsed. Installed a new comp and she was like new again. Zero issues.
@@Jamescrev451 Yup, without being there with a stethoscope to really pinpoint the knock. Sure sounds like the compensator springs are shot. Especially if that bike was beat on, which she has all the signs.
