Great video. My '89 GT also just turned 36K on the ticker. Big problem even with garage queens are plastic parts always breaking. Good thing parts are getting easier to get.

Did you buy it?
@Nick17354
@Nick17354 5 месяцев назад
@@afdave7 I did not. It was in very, very rough shape. Body lines and panel gaps were good, no major rust, but it needed all of the interior redone. The doors were saggy, all the weather stripping was shot. Aftermarket stereo just thrown in the cubby and not mounted. Steering column was missing top and bottom cover exposing the ignition which means it was probably stolen at some point. The list goes on!

@Nick17354 ouch. Good job you avoided that. I just passed on one tonight. Too much rust. And many other things. Glad to have videos like this to help me know what to look for. Saved me a Ton.

Good video lots of good tips, personally I can't afford a good one so I bought a bunch of clunkers and spent 20 years piecing them together myself but those kind of cars will never have the value of a good original car, although you can go as wild as you want without feeling bad

There are seat track extenders. I'd also recommend getting a Corbeau seat with the bottom cushion shaved to make it lower.

How difficult is it to find parts for foxes or even 94-98 mustangs? Thanks
@Mustang-Geek

Not bad. Depends upon the part. Much of the commonly broken or missing parts are available aftermarket. I like LMR.com as their search function on the website works well.

Would you ever purchase a Salvage Titled (California) fox body Mustang? The car I’m looking to purchase is overall straight and original but holds a Salvaged Title.
@Mustang-Geek
@Mustang-Geek Год назад
I would, and here's why: the pickings are slim. At this point, you're buying this car for its current condition, not its history. If this were a later model car, there'd be more fish in the sea from which to choose...but foxes are getting hard to find in *any* condition, so if the price is reasonable, I wouldn't hesitate. Do you know *why* it has a salvage title?
@raybareng4561
@raybareng4561 Год назад
@@Mustang-Geek I really appreciate that advice. Unfortunately I don’t know the reason. I looked up the CarFax and it shows that it was salvaged in 1992. If I were to guess, it may have been salvaged for theft. The last time it was registered was in 2002 and appears to have been sitting for the past 20 years.
@Mustang-Geek
@Mustang-Geek Год назад
@@raybareng4561 Noted. Look it over carefully. Identify what's "less than ideal" about the car and ask yourself, "Am I able to fix that? Do I WANT to fix that?" Buy a car that is strong in the things you don't want to do, and weak in the things you're good at.

Hey at 3:58 he mentions a “air pump” can some one fill me in on what that does?
@Mustang-Geek

Just pumps air into the catalytic converters. Typical on cars of the era. Usually one of the first things that gets ditched by hot rodders.
