My oldest sister had a brand new 1990 Fox body GT, that was strawberry red with the five speed transmission. We went to Mountain View Ford in Chattanooga Tennessee, and I helped her pick it out. Even though it only had 225 HP and 300 lbs of torque, it was a very fun car to drive. It's hard to believe that we have cars like my Chrysler 300 SRT8 now, and the 2021 Super Stock that I just sold that had over 800 HP. That was a little bit too much for the street, but damn it was amazing how quick you can hit triple digit numbers on the speedometer. My wife said that I was going through a midlife crisis whenever I bought it, but she helped me get over it really quick after she drove it the first and only time. LoL That's okay because there is a RAM TRX that I have my eyes on, I'll have to hide the paperwork from her this time. She'll never want to drive it, because she hates pickup trucks thank goodness. Great video thanks for sharing.

Thinking why not push auto tech schooling with some of the younger people ?! They could help themselves with their own cars and make a little income, if not a full time job but maybe with a excellent paying part time , side job . Not to mention an enjoyable job with gratification .Then I get back home and find this channel mentioned and had to check it out. Very well done and it has motivated me into pursuing my first love ( my 2nd love distracted me and kept me from my 1st ! but she's gone now, thank God) and that 1st was working on cars. When you're replacing the distributor cap and wires, you should remove the sprout connector and bump the timing to 14 Degrees at idle, it wakes the stock cars up a bit, it's probably still at the stock 10 Degrees since nothing else looks like it's been touched. 12 to 1 you can't process that from a compression test. That is determined through stoke vs cc.

I'm impressed you still had the catalytic converter, keys and paperwork on it. A rare find these days. We use an old boat gas cell, and an electric adjustable pump for fuel source workaround due to damaged fuel cell or sending unit. That way there's no room for error or fire... That would be bad.

Same here. It was certainly one of them at least. I was 8 in '89 & my neighbor had an '89 5.0 in this color. When I heard him fire it up & saw him getting in with his rat tail blowing around, I knew that's where it was at. Started listening to heavy metal & thrash shortly after also hahaha

The whole fuel thing reminded me of a similar deal of my 1988 5.0 dumping fuel in my ear almost 30 years ago. The fuel ate away some of the scar tissue from a previous flawed ear surgery and I've been able to hear better out of that ear ever since.

Awesome work!! Alex - I know this stuff gives you content, but the truth is, not many people would do what you do - spending your day laying in the parking lot, selflessly helping someone and smiling and having fun the entire time - it’s just awesome. I love your channel, and this video made me love it even more. Thank you 🙏

Wow...the memories! Bought an '87 GT MT brand new when I graduated high school. Exactly like that one, except gray interior. First mod: bypass the coolant line that runs through the throttle body, so that it doesn't run through the throttle body any more. The period correct sound is Flowmasters mixed in with a bit of power steering pump whine.

This was an AWESOME episode!! Thank you Alex and friends! Everyone LOoves an old Mustang 5.0. (These were made for modding. Mo powa and...what did ford call it? Posi Trac? Or was it True Trac? Well an LSD diff anyway. No way that has over 100,000 miles. It's 43 for sure. I think EVERYTHING on that car is from factory. Even the plugs. I also think those mufflers were either an option from OEM or were done by request for the owner by the dealer. IMHO.

SOOO COOL! When I was in 8th grade I had a buddy Matt, that was a senior. He had a '92 🦊 Body & he'd pick me up if he saw me walking to school. We would go do some burnouts & have fun before school. Unfortunately Matt was KIA in Afghanistan about 5yrs later. I think of him fondly whenever I see an old Fox body driving around. Really Fun Cars!!! 🇺🇸🦅

I bought my 1987 Mustang new. I retired it with 306K miles, in the early 2000's. I started it back up 4 or 5 years when the fuel pump died and I am slowly bringing it back. The interior is cherry. It seems like its about 75% of what it used to be. That is still pretty quick!

I used too work in a machining/production shop that finish milled those aluminum intakes as well as final assembly before shipped too Ford. A place called CMI in Southfield Michigan back in the 80's and 90's. We would put out 1000's of them a week. Super popular motor at the time. As I recall we had as much overtime as your body could stand available our Company was so hoppin. We also made the reverse flow Chevy GM aluminum heads of the 80's and 90's as well. Good times.
