This is if you can find one for 4k new like he did. Here in the midwest am seeing many are trying to import and sell for profit, so asking 6k or more… too much for what it is. 4k is the most I’d pay. And probably would have gotten one already if I could find one at that price. Have a full size backhoe already but this thing can get into the spots, and even slow and weak can build single track trail or earn profit doing certain jobs and underpinning

It's all a trade off. There's nothing comparable to this so you can't even ask yourself if an alternative is a better value. The closest thing is a used Japanese excavator like Andrew said, which would take a lot of mechanical skill and know-how to keep operating as long as a brand new Chinese unit would. If you had that kind of mechanical skill already you might as well buy the best used excavators on the market and fix those up instead and now you're not even in the same ballpark as these mini machinery. Sometimes that extra $1k-$2k is worth it too, just to avoid all the headaches involved with trying to get Chinese exports through customs and into a US port. The political climate around US/China trade is making it a lot harder for normal people to do business in that arena. When you pay a middleman a little extra you're paying for convenience and a higher likelihood that you get your machinery on time in good shape without a week of being on the phone with people who don't care whether you get your Chinese product or not.

Like you said, your video will seal a lot of them and raise the price. Because the stability needs to be watched a proper ropes should be considered vs the rain and sun shield. I bought a used Kubota KH-41 (1 1/2 tons about). 20 years ago and it now has 4600 hours, over double the hours when I bought it. I only rolled it once and grateful for the ROPS. I’m 82+ and still find chores to do year round. Kubota diesel engine a reliable engine and starts no issue even in Canadian winters. I doubt your machine ‘s engine will see 4600 hours but then for the price paid, buy 4-5 new ones as required. I prefer diesel but there is a price.. I consider myself hard on machines but not to your level - I would like your assessment after 500+ hours under your command. Thanks for the video!

Wow, that little thing is a beast in its own right! I have to say at first I’m like that’ll make my grandsons a fine little sandbox toy, but after you showed us its potential I have to say I’m really impressed! Nice score Andrew, that’ll get in and out of any tight spaces for sure and it has some muscle too. Thanks for taking us along brother, this was a fun watch. 👍🏼👍🏼 from this guy. ✌🏼

The lack of weight will significantly impact how to use it and what it can do. Having the fixed thumb, makes you curl the load back in close to help with the load balance. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised with what that little machine (not a toy) was able to do. I thought that the B&S badge, should mean that the motor at least is made in the USA, so likely to be OK for local service and parts, but AGT appears to be Chinese company, so the B&S motor is also likely made in a B&S factory over there.

Also he did the one thing a lot of people miss and mess up on these. They ship with a light break in oil that only is good for about 5 hours, because it is designed to catch all the metal shavings and crap as the engine bores in. When people leave it in, it tends to kill the engine.

Great small machine. I have seen utility companies use them for digging small ditches/trenches for electrical lines and water lines. Good option for a homeowner or a small farm to do some work around.

That’s a great real-world review Andrew. Glad to see this thing put to the test. One weak spot on these things is the swing motor, a friend of mine discovered this and sourced an upgraded replacement

Oh man! This thing is definitely going get the good ol-fashion Camarata durability test. If this thing last a few years under Andrew's ownership, then it will probably last a long time under normal home owner use.

These little excavators do very well. I almost bought one last year, but I found a Kubota U17 w/ 3000 hours for a less than what the Chinese ones cost in my area. Cheapest mini-ex like Andrew’s is $8500 in my area.

I'm kinda impressed watching you wrangle that thing. Ive been looking into one for a couple years for home and for work when we need something tiny or there's some nice small trees to transplant. For that price, I'd get one

It looks really strong. Have you seen the new "rock crusher" attachments for excavators? It might be a good addition for creating 1 and 2 inch fine rock after your main crusher creates 3 and 4 inch crush piles.

My brother had a landscaping company in the Netherlands, I used to go to work with him alot and this machine saved us a TON of work. It fits into the tight backyards we have here, it lifts great and is easy to use and to learn how to use for the new guys. I'm not saying you used it wrong, but if you ever get a job like that in a tiny backyard you'll learn that it really shines in that location.

Neat little machines for what they are. I was looking at getting a 260B backhoe for my John Deere 1025r but they run about $6600. I could just buy one of these and have more capability I guess.

That little machine truly has a niche. Definitely beats using a shovel and has plenty of hyd power. I could see Andrew getting creative and adding a little more counter weight to the rear and hyd thumb. That would be the ticket.

Hey Andrew-I love watching you and the variety that you provide. You have excellent dirt working skills and a nice variety of machines for us to experience. Like the Big and small machines. Very nice to see hard working person with many different skills. Your ability to repair and fix things is amazing. Also excellent job with the cameras, editing, and drone shots, the scenery is amazing where you are. Keep up the good work on all aspects and thank you.

I saw in one of your shorts that it has a pull start--perfect for the inevitable dead battery. And if the engine ever blows up, you could probably adapt a $450 Harbor Freight Predator engine.
