My first 2 suits were pinstripe. Who cares what Bill or Dennis think of your suit? Wear them with confidence and stack those chips.

Pin stripe suits certainly don't have the versatility of the solid navy and grey suits, but they have one advantage that hasn't been mentioned in this video. The vertical stripes can add height. They also add an image of authority. That's why they're often called "power suits."

I've got 5 suits and 2 of them are pinstripe. Personally I prefer my pinstripe ones.

My third was a pin stripe. It's my favorite and my go to suit. It turns head, for sure. It's weird though. It's a 6 button vest with a 4 button jacket.

I do think that it also really depends on the pattern though. A friend of mine has very dark charcoal/black suit with a white pinstripe. The stripe was thin, the black in between was pretty wide. That pattern just screamed and was very recognizable. I myself had a (light) charcoal suit with gray pinstripes. The stripes were as wide as the charcoal in between those lines. It was a pattern easy to the eyes and I actually got compliments every time I wore it. Allthough this is coming from a guy who owns a black suit as first suit (mainly used for Christmas dinners and funerals) and a gray suit as second (to mix up with 2nd Christmasday and weddings). I guess I need some upgrades =p.

I have three, well four, suits; a black suit, a light khaki suit, and a pinstripe. You're right about the lack of versatility in the pinstripe but I found if you wear a plaid tie with the suit it looks classy and elegant.

My first suit was a pin strip suit, my second was a grey suit, and a light chocolate brown suit, my next three where solid navy, double breast navy, charcoal penstrip. A tux and a bunch of kilt outfits

Some of the shown fabrics aren't pinstripes but chalk stripes. You can recognize a chalk stripe from the thickness of the stripe, if the stripe consists of multiple threads, it's a chalk stripe, if it's got only one thread, it's a pin stripe. Kind Regards, Louk

I happen to have a pinstripe suit that I've owned for a while (I know I need other suits first, but it's too late now). It fits me very well but I rarely ever wear it because I just don't know what to match with it. I'd like if you did a video about what shirt/tie combos can match with a pinstripe suit.

Morp is right. Safety is more important here. Standard workout clothes are what you might want while training, and make sure they are functional and protective. Don't get hurt because of the clothes you're wearing.

I cannot agree more, Charcoal and Navy solids are the two first basic suits. I have worked in men's clothing for three years now and wish more people thought as logically as we do.

Pinstripe you can wear anytime.. people don't wear suits as often including in corporate settings . Therefore there no stereotypes with suits anymore Just wear it, because they're great and you love them

Agree that suits such as plain greys and navy are versatile - but somewhat boring. After one navy and one grey/charcoal I'd prefer to go for a glen check/PoW plaid.

Dude, when working comfort and durability should be first priority. Try looking for clothes that's best suited for parkour training and not outfits that you would look really cool in while training. I'm sorry if I sound condescending but I know this from experience.

Some of these advices seems to come out of the 1989 IBM office dress code, where you could wear anything, as long as was a solid navy suid with a white shirt... Most people nowadaws work in something close to or even less than a smart casual environnement. If you can show up in a blue jeans, then why the hell could you not show up in a pinstripe suit? Match it with a red t-shirt, with happy socks, with heavy metal medallions for godsake. Get creative with it!

People won't NOTICE you wearing the same stripe suit every day if wear a DIFFERENT stripe suit every day. That's why your first five suits should all be tasteful STRIPES, pin, chalk, shadow, and mini in navy, charcoal, blue, and BLACK. Once you have this basic wardrobe you can buy the tedious solids to stow in the very back of your closet for the next two years because they can't compete. People don't remember you as the guy who wears the stripes, they remember you as the guy who looks amazing.

I believe profession has an effect on wearing pinstripes. You can sell high-end goods and such, but I would never drive a hearse wearing pinstripes.
