This can cost you way more than you expected if they are bad on your Lexus IS. Please like, share, and subscribe. Thank you. Strikeforce Energy 20% discount code: AFLANDY4333
Nice ride Andy. Remember, you can get those caliper covers for your Lexus to keep that brake dust to a minimum. I do my own brakes, but I use Akebono brake pads. Much less dust, no break in period.
Even if it’s an independent mechanic they will automatically charge more for a Lexus as opposed to a Toyota as they assume you have money. Also Lexus parts are more expensive
Door lock actuator issue happened to me too after I got! Just bought the parts off Amazon and going to try and do it myself. Wish me luck so I can save $$$!
I have a 17 IS300 AWD. They tend to also have inner tire wear on the front tires as well. That’s fixed by changing the bushings up front to the GSF ones. They are stiffer and it also improves your steering. I’ve had it going on 3 years with no problems so far. She is a guzzler in town though but does well on highways.
.....you can find pads that are virtually dustless....try high end ceramic pads ....... and there is a few high-dollar semi-metallic pads out there as well that will leave no dust....
A little off topic. My 2009 toyota corolla stopped running and would crank but not start. Had car towed to toyota dealership for their $175.00 diagnosis. They told me the fuel pump was bad and they would.replace it for $1,550.00. Again $1;550.00. Told them no thanks. Bought replacement pump for $175.00 and replaced it MYSELF in about one hour using common hand tools.that I guarantee everyone has around the house. Car would still not start. Checked new fuel pump, works fine. Checked old fuel pump and that worked fine. Turns out the ECM was faulty and has to be replaced. The $175.00 "diagnosis" from Toyota was a TOTAL waste of time and money .
@@johnGabryowicz-ev7mz I’ve been there with ford. Bad thing is they will not refund the money and if you would have let them replace the fuel pump you would have just been out that money also. Seems like if they diagnose it wrong they would have to refund that money because that’s what you paid them for.
Dont get the IS 250. Direct injection only i believe. You want the IS 200T. That is the turbo with Direct and port injection. Funny thing, in 2018 the 200T became the IS 300. Same engine as before. Scratches head. Go figure.😅
Red Stuff ceramic brake pads little to no dust. Shorter stopping distance than oem. They do take a while to bed in. Red Stuff ceramic pads last up to twice as long as oem pads.
@@pauldurand1890 nope I only wash my cars by hand when I wash them. I probably don’t wash my cars twice a year. You are doing enough if you have time to wash your car!
Nice video mate. I just bought this car but a 2018 hybrid model. I have been noticing a knocking sound everything I press on the brake pedal at slow speeds. Have you noticed such noises when you are pressing the brakes? Thanks
@@psycheadfuzzfreak830 got it for 3k but ngl once I got home n started cleaning out some things n changing the filters dude ain’t take care of it for shi
both are decent. I own a 2008 IS250 with 140k+ miles, great car they'll last a good 200k if not more. if you're looking for something faster, go with the 350.
I'm looking at getting a 2015 lexus is 250, F sport. If Lexus is saying these last 10 years.. the 2015 is approaching that 5 years mark. Does that mean it won't be wise to buy it? The car does have only 103k miles.
I would recommend upgrade to a 350. The 250 have a weaker engine and is only port injected which will cause carbon buildup over time while the 350 is direct and port injected.
@@ForbiddenDNA na don’t get the T models. They have turbos. If u are low on budget, get a 250 but use Shell Premium 93 once a while to clean the carbon.
@@ForbiddenDNA Turbos are unreliable in the long run. Look at Honda, they putting turbos on everything and they leaking and calling recalls. Safest bet is 250 with proper maintenance or a 350 if u have a bigger budget. Tbh u should be fine with a 250. Make sure to put premium once in a while to clean the carbon. I would recommend Shell. BMW only recommended shell in their cars and Premium Shell cleans ur engine really good.
