Can someonehelp me with my cl500 its stuck in limp mode the code reads (The signal of the transmission output speed sensor is implausible compared to that of the wheel rpm)
I just bought a 2005 CL55 AMG with 93k miles on it for $6,000. It seems like a good car but still learning about it. It has minor issues. I am missing spare tire, jack, spare tire cover, radio comes on for 30 secs then just shuts down, needs an alignment & etc. I think for $6000 & 93,000 miles it was a good deal.
I have 2006 CL500 with AMG package, it has less than 32000Miles on it. I recently had the ABC isuue, so the car sets low. Im selling the car for $12000, if anyone interested, please text me at 16464204069
I have a CL500 2002 with 88000 mile on it I use this car for leisure only Cons: The biggest drawback with CLs are the hydraulic computer control suspension system and if it goes bad it will cost you lot of money to fix it.. Pro: Great Body style, Good Power,, you are buying 90000 dollar car for less than 8000 dollar Recommendation,: Before you buy this car make sure you know a good Benz Mechanic that will not charge you a lot of money for repair ,,, if the suspension goes bad,,, do the conventional shock conversion at the end you will save lot money
The 500 CL starts from as little as £2000 here in the UK, which is so cheap, it's crazy! I was looking at them for sale earlier so thank you for this video as it gives some very helpful information as to what to look out for! That suspension is VERY expensive to fix if it goes wrong! WOW! Thanks for the info!
I was going to buy a 2004, I went instead and bought a 2007 Xj L with 36k miles. The jag was a better buy but I love the styling of the cl 2000-2006. I still will get one eventually.
ive got 2006 CL500 with only 32000 miles. the car has the ABC light on, and it needs AC boiler. im selling it for $12.000. if you are interested text me at 1 6464204069
One thing that scares me off to buy this car is the price of that hydraulic suspension spare parts. Imagine paying more for 4 of those shock absorbers than for the actual car, there's no budget replacement parts of those. And the service cost of this feature is not cheap either, you need special diagnostic equipment that not every mechanic have and prices at authorized dealer service are high.
MG Todeskult Do what I did and swap out the ABC suspension for fully adjustable coilovers then get it set up by a specialist. Then you have a bargain GT car
C215 was the last beautiful design cope . Don’t like the new version that came after this with the fenders on wheels. Same story with the W220 . Last beautiful and smooth design . Bruno Sacco’s vision.
Well, sounds like you have to purchase a vehicle maintenance service contract from a reliable third party just to be safe ! But having a clean Carfax, 3 or less owners, the maintenance records and not buying one that isn’t/wasn’t registered in a major city would be best !
Abel, that was the smartest thing to do. Congrats! Now, how to remedy the plastic radiator, etc., etc. The one thing that never gave me trouble on my CL600 is the seat, which IMHO, was the most comfortable car seat I have ever sat in.
@@davidwade7681 i know im super late on replying im just seeing these comments, i did the yellowspeed coilovers they are fully adjustable and yes did the work myself its super easy, after installing the coilovers i routed the abc hose from the pump back into the resovoir so the fluid is going from resovoir to the pump then back to resovoir
@@abel_sounds good idea too bad my cl600 blew a head overheated I got sick of the issues so I traded it inn unfortunately but glad yours is running good and thanks for the reply
what is your recommendation to repair the paint bubbles? I have a 2002 cl500 and it gorgeous, but has a few bubble spots that I want to fix. Also I did the ABC delete kit to strut master.. Is there a known way to turn off or disable the ABC alarm?
I'm an old car dude and for years I just had to have one of these. I bought a beautiful 2003 CL600 that was a blast to drive. But then, the problems started . . . ABC $ystem went out, trunk lift went out, both front plastic fenders cracked, plastic radiator went out (both probably made in China) It cost me $14,000 one year just to keep it on the road!
After you fix a problem you are hoping that it was the only problem but sometimes it continues , after spending thousands it’s difficult to junk it but it’s the most intelligent thing to do,
Do NOT buy a CL500 unless you get it from a main dealer with a warranty. The cost of parts and labour is astronomical. They are prone to suspension and electrical problems, especially with electrical drains. Mine had 2 at the same time and not even the main dealer sorted it! This car spent most of its life on the drive whilst a drove my wifes utterly reliable Renault coupe.
Very useful video! So between this model and previous model 1992-1998 which one do you recommend based on building quality? since the 80-90s S class is labeled as the "legend" and next generation as "a cheap made quality" ...
Yes, the 1992-1998 C140 CL has the same absolutely fantastic build quality as the W140, so if we talk about the build quality itself, then the older CL is the winner. The build quality in this newer CL is also very good, but you know, not that good as in the previous generation.
Nuno Costa it rides smooth when at stock height and shocks are set at the right setting but mine is real low and stanced out so its a little stiffer for me check it out on my instagram @ abel_amg
@@JESUS_IS_GOD if you want power steering still then yes you'll need the abc pump I ran a hose from one of the hard lines under the car that leads to the shocks straight back to the reservoir bypassing the lines leading to the shocks and worked fine, you dont have to plug the shock lines if u do that, the ride isnt bad without the sway bars, you'll notice some body roll if u corner hard .
I have a 2004 CL500 Mercedes-Benz in limp mode can you help me fix it I have changed the vgs conductor plate and still in limp mode should I changed the valve body also I need some help please
The gearboxes in Jaguars of that era (which should be the same as the Mercedes ones ones) are "sealed for life". They do not require an oil change but not changing the transmission oil at any point in a car's life may shorten its (sealed) life span. It's preventative maintenance for such a valuable and rare car.
Suspenssion = 6000€, electric harness that goes through the doors = 2000€, assisted steering colum = 1000€.....so I had to let her go. Great video. Very nice car but few issues
@@stunmachine make sure that sound system and door auto shutdown wotks fine, because is the first sign of elec. Harness failure, and make sure you have somenone who can work in this model at reasonable rates, MB oficial dealer can drain your walet. Aside of that is a great automovile
Acho que c100 mil hoje vc pega uma dessas ..estou solteiro e livre ..tenho um bom emprego e uma boa poupança ...eu pensava em comprar um carro mais simples zero ..mais estou pensando em um carro assim...luxo potência e presença
I just foumd a 2000 amg cl 500 with only 53000 km . It has 0 scratches perfect condition with a spare tyre for 11000 $ . Is it a good deal or does the car cost a lot to maintain
Theres one here for breaking.i drive an e320diesel but I was going to buy everything off the guy to convert mine into the v8 anyone think it's worth the trouble the car I drives body interior is like new and drives like new also so wat u guys think???
