Great boats. They are second on my list ONLY because their drafts tend to be a bit too deep for the Caribbean. I really want to experience as much of the Exumas as possible and 6'+ is just too much.

Only thing I myself do not like about some of these models, is the twin rudder.

I agree M.Hoff- But also there 's no protection. A Skeg Hung-rudder is better.

Hello CL. I love these boats and I can see myself with one to sail the Southeastern coast of the US and the Keys/Caribbean during my retirement (2 years from now). I am based in Charleston SC. Can you comment on the normal depreciated price (year over year) on these boats compared to buying new? I am guessing a 2-5 year old Jeanneau is a good spot to target for a second hand vessel - but I would like your suggestion. Many thanks!

4 to five years is generally where the depreciation will level off, the largest being first 1 to 3 years

i prefer the bigger vessels but the draft is seriously much too deep for me. I appreciate the much more room with the width farther aft but i need a 4 or 5 foot keel. Over that is ridiculous for sailing around Panama City Florida. So i'm stuck with a Gemini 105 mc with an 18 inch draft might be perfect for me and soon as i can get money even at 71 years old i might go for it....How fast are these wide boats with duel wheels? A trimaran like a 40 foot dragonfly or a 40 Rapido can get into pretty shallow water too plus they can fold up if needed for a marina space. But i don't know my access to money yet.

i like these too. the drop transoms are very nice. for those that dont know, you should explain the boat legs at 1:39. i use them at the sandbar on my mac26.

He doesn't limit by region so he is also seeing the cheaper deals in the Mediterranean like in Croatia. North America tends to have much higher asking prices.
