This video is about an abandoned house in the south of Brazil. The house has only been half finished but work has stopped and it has been put up for sale in its current state. In the video I will show you this house, how much it costs and the value it could have once it is finished.
I am Swedish and I moved to Brazil 5 years ago and in this video I will share my experiences of living in Brazil.

I believe you made a mistake, where you said to be the kitchen appears to be the laundry room. and the place you said was the laundry room appears to be a half bathroom - lavabo The kitchen is probably open concept with the living room. It's fashionable in Brazil to have a living room, dining room and integrated kitchen.

How big is the lot the house is built on? A bit expensive although it is a nice corner lot, the neighborhood seems to be quiet, green, and clean, and the living room will turn into a gorgeous space with all the surrounding greenery.

The lot is 420m2 (4500 ft2). I agree that its a bit expensive, I need to get the price down. I am looking at other places as well and will do videos showing those as well.

How's the internet in general in the South specially rural areas and do they have fiber??

Most towns in the south have fiber. Where I live, I have fiber with a speed of 300Mbps

600k is way to much. I'd only buy it if the seller reduces the price

have you introduced yourself to all of your neighbours? you will obviously need to hire builders to work on your project and you should ask your neighbours for recommendations on who you should hire (sometimes who you should not hire) for the job. It's a debatable grey area the difference between sense of community and nepotism.

You have to think a little bit, because there’s a lot of things to do in order to finish this house.

Very true, I have not bought it as the owner is not willing to negotiate on the price yet

Could be a nice project, you didn’t mention the size of the land the house is being built on. I feel the price is too high, check how much a lote of similar size costs in the same area, I’m guessing no more than 300k has been spent to get it to where it is now. I would offer around 450k I think that would be a reasonable price. Good luck

It sound expensive. The house is in the middle of nowhere; land is cheap in your area. If the sales price would actually reach 1 million R$, the actual cost will be, besides the land, only $400,000 R$ for the electrics, and complete interior. Much better to buy a fully built property in this case, or build yourself from scratch.

They’re not trying to rip off gringos , i spend 6 months in brazil every year since 2020 specifically São Paulo and the real estate market is super inflated at the moment. Good luck finding a brand new unfurnished one bedroom apartment for under 120k usd in a GOOD area

Is that brick work reinforced with any kinda steel? Could practically blow that over lol. I'd agree with one of the comments down below. That seems like a lota Reais mate for that considering what you still have to spend on it.

The bricks are just stuck with cement mortar, and later will get a cover layer of mortar from 1.5 to 4 cm (thicker on the outside, thinner on the inside), and a very thin layer of plastering to smooth the surface for painting. It gets pretty strong when finished. You would need a sledgehammer and work your ass off to put a wall down. The hollow ceramic bricks are not structural though, they just fill the cavities of a frame constructed with reinforced concrete with rebar.

Hello friend.. How long will it take to get a Brazilian passport after marrying a Brazilian citizen?

Hi, I haven't got a Brazilian passport. I've got a permanent visa which you can get if you marry a brazilian. Not sure if it is worth getting a brazilian passport for myself, maybe in the future. I think you need to live 4 years in brazil in order to apply for a brazilian passport.

Excuse me, Nordic Investor dude, so if I understood you well, the owners are asking 600K in Br reais for the house and the land in their present state, but once the project is finished their selling price will be between 1M-1.2M reais, yes?

The house is for sale for R$600k in its current state. If the person who buys it completes all the work then the estate agent said that the property could be worth R$1m-R$1.2m
