Yes, you will. I’m doing the same. I loved your idea of only purchasing during special occasions, and I’m going do the same. Only during my birthday and our wedding anniversary. And it’s probably not gonna be handbags, it may be jewelry from Cartier.

🦄 I have watched your videos for many years but actually just subscribed over the weekend. Your latest videos have really resonated with me. I have had a similar handbag journey as you described and often wondered if that was part of a mid-life crisis or a way of dealing/escaping from things going on in my life at the time. I went a little crazy selling my bags once I really thought about what was going on and I now have a very small collection and could not be happier. I’m right there with you when it comes to all the stress of buying and selling online. I sometimes lose sleep over worrying myself about bag related issues. Have you considered journaling about your feelings when looking for that high of buying a new bag or jewelry? This might be helpful even when you’re hunting. What’s happening? Are you bored, lonely, sad, tired? You didn’t fail last year, you simply didn’t meet your goal. That’s the point of goals, not perfection, something to work towards. If you purchased consciously then you were definitely making progress towards your goal. ❤

That is a great idea!!! I've been brewing an idea similar but more a video journal idea. Any time I want to buy a bag, I'm going to shop my closet for reasons not to and show my viewers what I find:)...that way I can see if there is a true "need" or if I'm just bored, sad, lonely, etc. This comment is making me think I should also add an emotional part in the video - maybe talk about what's happening in life that would make me want to shop! I am thinking of adding to my collection. I currently have NO luxury handbags and would like to add 1-2. I am interested most in YSL at this time. Can you please make a video show ALL of your YSL and what you love about each? There is a store in Portland it is about 4 hours south of where I live and I am planning on taking my daughter for a weekend when I think that I know what I want. 🦄I no one is more trustworthy in my eyes on RU-vid. Any and all reviews you do I totally believe. The way you care for your items is admirable and inspiring. I love that you are so open with us and take us on this crazy bag journey of yours. I think two weeks is a long time don't sell yourself short! I believe you will find your comfort zone when it comes to shopping again. It's wise keep realistic goals when trying to form new behaviors. You are wonderful!

I like the rules 😁. I would ask myself what three things (higher end bag, piece of jewelry or maybe spa treatment) could you treat yourself to? The less you buy overall the higher the price can be when you do 😉.

🦄 hi! I’m a fairly new subscriber. I’m a collector like you… but what resonates with me is the desire to slow down. I’m at 16, when I started I thought 10 would be plenty. I’ve found that my style is changing and I am no longer reaching for monogram and large logo bags. I just sold 2 bags to fashionphile and I plan to sell another soon- I’d like to keep my number at 15 (counting totes which I have 4). Anyway, just want to say I’m with you on the cutting back. We can hold each other accountable here, right? Have a great day!

yes!! we can definitely hold each other accountable - I would recommend you not sell all of your logo stuff… I swung that way and then swung back because it is so durable and carefree :-). Keep a couple! 💜♥️🥰

@@thehandbaghousewife thanks for that tip, it’s a good idea… I have been watching handbag collection videos so I decided to pull out my whole collection this morning and photograph it - I’m loving it- seems well balanced between black, beige/ white, and brown/tan in sizes/styles for all my occasions in each color. Makes it easy that I’m a neutral gal and haven’t gotten into colored bags. I recently sold 2 black leather LV bags to fashionphile because I got a couple of new black bags that fit my current style better. I just need to pause and enjoy what I have for a while! It does help to see everything all together. I think that’s a great tip for anyone trying to curb their collecting! I’ve been keeping my less used bags in different parts of my home due to burglaries in my area targeting luxury goods with thieves going straight for the master closet. I’m going to enjoy them all displayed on my bed today, and then they will go back to their hiding places. Have a great day!

@@thehandbaghousewife I just started looking into them. I have a weakness for hobo style shoulder bags. Less structure and soft. They have so many styles and leathers that it is confusing. Leaning towards the distressed, less sophisticated look. Have not bought any looking at the moment. I am on ban island. 😢 the customization options are nice, design your own bag is cool.
