James M the dxe is a pos. I mean if you have no idea what you’re doing then I’d say ok but to change the settings on this tx you have to buy a cable or a Bluetooth device and use your pc or an app that is a pain to do I highly recommend getting a programable tx. Not to mention the dxe only can be programmed for one vehicle at a time.
@@FASTFREDDIE-R.C. Oh I know the pitfalls of this radio but for a beginner that doesn't need to be confused with all the throttle curves and all the other settings in a radio ad that just makes flying even more stressful.
James M I agree with you on that statement but anyone that is going to stay in this hobby is going to have to learn eventually so my thoughts are just get the bnf and use the saved money on a better tx.
@Eddy Jin I have to disagree with your statement. Have you ever opened a dxe before? The gimbals have plastic bushings instead of bearings. Even my hobby king orange tx6i that only cost me $77 has steel bearings.
I wish I would not have sold my hirobo shuttle. Those were days. I tried a trex, and it was nuts.Wish we could have a 450 class that was not twitchy and spastic. But was stable and smooth.
@@mcomet I still got all of them, don't get to much hung up on the safe and bailout. The real helicopter flying is done without. Still it is pretty cool this technology from beastx and spektrum.
Yep, the "bird's head" design is simple and cheap, but the stick tail boom and open back is just ugly. We do appreciate that it complicates the design a bit, but how about including a bird's head for training and a scale body for when we're comfortable?
The best part was not telled for newbies or scale guys or just relaxed scale flight's. Oh..it's safe? What? Come on... It got BANK limits and autolevel... That's what sell's it and is not advertised? That's my opinion that i AM not a 3d guru and if it was... Well more brand's suite the Bill. I Will buy this heli ONLY because of its size and its bank limits/autolevel. Thanks for making it! I fly the 230 S smart RTF. It lets you know when the battery gets too low. On the 330 S, when the battery gets too low, will the helicopter drop like a rock or will it come down gently?

@@jonspikes4935 we have had some customers report back the same problem. A few have played with the gain on the heli, but we are working on a firmware update to help as well.

Hi where can I buy replacement main and tail gears for a 450 plz? I understand that the 330 series has the same size gears. Correct? I also have t-Rex 450 gears but they don’t fit. Thanks if you can help. I’m in Australia btw.
So I use a teranis, (that's what I started out with and I just like the feel of it) but I'm planning on getting a spektrum module for it, would I be able to use the telemetry with that? Thanks :)
Nice presentation. One question I have: I'm flying a Traxxas Aton now. I can fly it in dummy mode and intermediate mode, but not Advanced. (without self-leveling) Would I reasonably be able to fly this one? I don't want a smaller model, they're already hard enough to see, compared to planes and trucks. One suggestion for future models: Put some kind of color splash on the tail to help with orientation; that's the hardest part. Is there any kind of warranty on these? Not for crash damage of course, but for electronics failure?
If you've never flown a rc heli then this is not a good first heli for a beginner. This heli has safe mode but you have to set it up yourself, which isn't easy to do.
I am having problems with the Battery voltage LEDs. They do not turn on to indicate a fully charged battery. Has anyone else have this prob;am with the 330s?
I have this helicopter I’m using it in a 450 size bell 222 scale fuselage, I couldn’t use channel 6 for retracts on stock spmfc625hx reciever. so I changed the reciever to the AR7210bx, I want to use mks ds95 tail servo. Ds95 is 760us 560hertz, would I need a pc to program 560hertz or not? If I change tail servo would I need to change all three cyclic servos?
Very new into helicopters, so not sure if I'm missing something. 330S came back in stock and mine arrived the other day. PROBLEM 1-I'm using a DX6 G3, and Set it up like the book says, even though my TX isn't in the list, I learned a G2 is the same TX +/-. As I go through the settings in the manual, I see there are no directions for setting up SAFE. NONE AT ALL !!! However, it's promoted all over the product box, and even the front of the manual itself. I also have the 230S and that book has directions for that heli, so why can't the 330 have SAFE directions? I tried to use the 230 book directions, and set up SAFE on the 330, but there isn't a MIX 0 option on the TX. I have confirmed that I have the current manual by pub date also (print and electronic). Thanks to china virus, the HH phone tech support is not available, and I haven't heard back on my email inquiry to tech support either. Do I need a 7 channel to actually set up SAFE mode on the 330, and if so, why can my 230 SAFE mode work fine with only a 6 Channel? PROBLEM 2-Also, when spooling up on the ground, the tail rises as though I'm giving forward cyclic command, even though I literally have removed my thumb from the right stick. I've made about 20 flights so far with this heli. Doesn't do it every time, but does it about 70% of spool ups. I've been told that this symptom could be the gyro misreading vibrations from sitting on the ground and I should lift off sooner. Maybe tech support will read this ????

I used the program file to program my dx6 radio that went very smoothly. My question is how do I test panic button by just looking at the radio. Please help thank you
You can test it on the bench. Just be sure you are in normal mode with the throttle at 0. Tip the heli slightly one direction and push the panic button. You should see the swash-plate react and attempt to correct.

I have buy the 330s by my German dealer and it flys absolute horrible. I don't get the Tail stable at all with my Dx7 Gen. 2. I opend several tickets but get no answer from the German support since 3 weeks ago. The dx7 don't let me go to the Gyro Menü to tune the sensivity. Also got no connectivity to the forward programming for calibration. I have the 330s now 4 weeks and still get it in air and no support since 3 weeks with several tickets.. That ist reely ridiculous for that huge amount of Money Horizon products cost in Germany.. I fly so many Horizon Products for Years and make Reviews with my Dealer but this was reely the last Time.
I have had my 330s for a couple of weeks now and cant sort out the tail wobble ...... I have noticed the tail servo creeps to the left ..... I tried to trim it with the radio but if i go to many clicks it starts to go the other way ...... Please can you help James from sunny england ..... oh on the wife’s ipad :]
Mine had a nasty tail wobble also. It was the tail pitch slider nut. It was loose, after I thightend it up the wobble was gone. Also using a longer servo horn to increase throw fixes this issue also from what I've heard.
I would very much like to do heli but I am a beginner. I really like this one but I don't want to screw up too fast. Can this be a Heli that I can use to develop my skill I have a dx6 gen 2 I fly planes and crash too. On the chopper though, I would like to be a bit more careful. Don
Good, I have acquired this model recently, I flew it on one occasion and in the next one being in the air began to turn on itself. Then I try to take it off and the same thing happens to me, it turns on itself, could someone help me?
mine did the exact same thing. I LEVEL THE SWASH PLATE BEFORE I PLUG IT IN. THAT SEEMED TO HELP. MINE ALSO HAS SOME KIND OF WEIRD LAG IN THE MOTOR. I HAVE TRIED TO TONE IT DOWN WITH PITCH CURVE AND THAT HAS MADE IT FLYABLE FOR ME. THIS IS REALLY A 3D SHOW-OFFS HELI. I JUST LIKE TO FLY AROUND. I DO 3D ON THE SIM, CRASHES ARE FREE! I'M USING A DX6 RADIO AND OF COURSE HORIZON DOES NOT OFFER A SET UP FOR THEM IN THE MANUAL. I TRY TO SUPPORT THEM AND GET NEW AIRCRAFT AS THEY RELEASE THEM BUT I CAN NOT AND WILL NOT BUY A NEW RADIO EVERY TIME ONE COMES OUT. I HATE SPENDING MONEY AND TIME TRYING TO UNDERSTAND AN USE A NEW RADIO. HOPE YOU GET SET UP AND GOING.
Is this unit FC6250HX ready for programming or is it locked. Updated my dx6 black gen 2 to firmware 7.02. Took a friends unit FC6250HX and forward programming is not working. The forward programming is in my menu but it failes to connect for some reason. I take the ix12 and it opens right up. Strange....
Robert, the forward program is open/unlocked to any Gen 2 Spektrum transmitter. Try sending an email to our Product Support team regarding the DX6 (you shouldn't be experiencing that issue).
@@HorizonHobbyProducts I got an answer from HH. They want me to send it to them, but i live in the Netherlands and bought it second hand, this is going to cost me a lot. So therefore i will keep it and bring back the FC6250HX to the store, the dx6 gen 2 works fine other than that. I will keep my eyes out for the nx6-nx8 for the future.
They say a Blade 230 is good, there is a guy by the name of Hill that Starts with Blade Nano $99, then he went to 450, he's good flyer and instruction. A sim is a very good thing to have, my brother uses it an hour a day when possible. He taught himself 3D and last heli he built was a Aline 500 a BEAST that is easy flyer untill you push it. We have bought a lot of Blade products, most ,they usually hover out of box, but a newbees are not going to probably. Use sim and take a basic course free online to step by step get to where you want. I had no interest, long time plane flyer, was in accident and flew quads and heli at my house, quads are great, heli take a little work.
