Yep, it's completely pointless when the slop from that place didn't deserve more than 4. Its all good though, keep giving 9s and 10s and keep letting the ad revenue roll in.
@@mikestrutter2336 I don't think it's about ad revenue, more being on good terms with the joints...it let's them film, get good service etc. Completely ruins the authenticity of the whole thing though, if you go back and watch his first videos it's clear he wasn't pre-planning his visits to the places he was reviewing.

@@mikestrutter2336 he needs to start giving honest scores, that was a 4 or 5 at best. It makes the scoring seem pathetic when a really nice takeaway may only score an extra point

But he's a nice guy so doesn't beat them down. Tbf we don't even need ratings we can get everything from how he describes it.
Looks like the sort of place you go at 2am after a skinful. Burger and chips looked absolute shite and the fact he only ate one chip says it all. I'm very curious to see what their fish would have been like! Suprised he went as high as an 8, even going by Danny scoring standards. I'd have knocked a point off for the cheeky git charging him for two drinks.
I knew a local chippy that had a £20 minimum order, and charged £5 delivery within 2 miles. They also sold Chinese food. They had like a 2* food hygiene and 3* reviews.
@@bigcee3338 nah Belgium, Holland and Germany are full of places that are coffee shops + bars and many of them are great. I never trust those Curry + burger + pizza takeaway places though.

@@DeathCrunch I've been thinking the same thing. He gets paid to give good scores to places that serve up junk and not to mention the ad revenue from youtube must be nice. All good as he gets by on his fake Peter Kay routine.
Such utter sh*te in this comment thread. He doesn't get paid for anything. He's just a nice guy so doesn't want to cr*p on someone's business. He knows the viewers can read between the lines. We don't really even need scores we can tell by his reaction how good the food is. Most of the time the places he visits are the best of the best. Positivity is what he wants to exude.
The channel isn’t really about the food reviews. It is just a mechanism/structure that is entertaining with Danny’s personality . You can’t review fish ship after fish shop, pizza place after pizza place and expect massive variety.
I am firmly in this Camp.....we have a local Indian Carry out place in our Village and the Indian fare such as tandoori, kebabs and Currys is outstanding and would certainly be in Danny's 10 range, however they have a small "European Dishes" section on the menu like Fish and Chips which is basically a huge frozen fish finger thrown into the deep fat fryer for 10 mins and burgers which fall into the 20p mass produced quality.......so you do have to cherry pick your food in these places.
Sadly he's a victim of his own success . When he first started out with only a handful of followers, i'm quite sure his aim was to give honest reviews of takeaways , good or bad , which he did (with the infamous munchy box one in Scotland). Now, however, i reckon he's gotten to a point where he has such a massive following that he knows that giving a takeaway a low score or saying anything bad will really hurt their business.
I just think he's simply a nice guy. So doesn't want to cause grief for any takeaway. Doesn't matter what score he gives is we can read between the lines. He tries to only goto good places but now and again he's going to he recommended somewhere that doesnt quite live upto anything. Most of the comments on here seem to be disagreeing with the score. So it's not like his score has pulled the wool over anyone's eyes.
As I've said on a previous video Danny needs to revisit theses places the next day and have something different to what he had before ! Because he only showing us what he picked and what the serves recommend
Last time I had a donner kebab at a fish shop it was dry and hard. The place is called the Golden Fry. There fish and chips are nice but there kebabs are terrible
The guy had "can't be arsed attitude", poor service. Clearly food wasn't up to scratch. I'd knock four points off just for that. Danny, you have followers relying on you. You have to score honestly. Stop being so polite, if the outlet doesn't deserve credit just say! As you've started to spread your wings, surely you'll visit crappy places - let us know the good from the bad. Let's be honest about these outlets and use all the digits 0 to 10! Imagine if you were a health inspector, everyone would be 4 or 5 stars. We are relying on your judgement, be honest and score accordingly!

Man, for someone that lives in the States and a bit of a world history buff, I have to say, all that 17th and 18th century architecture really impresses. You don't find ANY of that stateside! All that aside, I'm still watching and although Danny hasn't given his 'rating' yet, to be fair, I'm thinking a solid 8.5. He hated the burger and wasn't quick to rave about the naan pita. Maybe the chicken shwarma could pull that mess out of the basement, hence my prediction. Knowing Danny, he's gonna be too nice...AGAIN!! LoL
You will probably love places like York, Chester, Bath. Or visit Chatsworth house if you ever come to UK. Most tourists are just London focused but most of the history has been replaced for a Metropolitan city.
Bad review. High score. Love ya, Danny; but you need to give more realistic ratings. Your verbal review would keep me from going there. Your number rating was confusing for food that looked so bad-especially the burger and fries.
The problem Danny has is places will just flat out refuse to allow him to record on their premises if he's too harsh to businesses. We all know as viewers that anything 8 and below is dog shit so it's irrelevant.

Totally agree with comments, if the food is crap mark it as crap, also mark down for guy behind the counter just wasn't interested, to give a 8 means the food is excellent, that food and experience was a 4
It's getting increasingly boring and repetitive - just my opinion, but I just find myself fast forwarding until the food arrives. I may not be popular for saying that - but a few videos recently were good, coz he cut out 15 minutes of dead air

I haven't been there for about 25 years. There was a woman working there who always had scabs all up her arms and spuddy himself always wore a cap with the mysterious letters PGFMZ on.
You should visit Abingdon in Oxfordshire, full of little independent restaurants. 'Friends' has the best garlic bread with cheese pizza you will ever taste :)
When Danny gives an 8 you know it’s really bad!!! Wish you would score things more honestly instead of giving 10’s out too often, I know you don’t want to put a company down but to review things you need more than just 10’s
Another 10 mins down the road and you could have paid Dandelion Cafe in Saltaire a visit. Absolutely amazing health veggie food and their burgers are amazing.
