I live outside of the UK now but what I miss the most is the diversity in food, culture and community that there's in the UK. So many different tastes. So well rounded. Keep up the good work showing how friendly the people can be and the vast array of food that your country has to offer.
Talk about value for money. That's amazing. That salad is a meal in itself. Also the place was spotlessly clean, even the supermarket aisles. Well done to everyone concerned.
👍 lovely to see the multi cultural people saying hello to one another it makes my heart sing ! The food looks amazing what a brilliant supermarket right weekend sorted now I’m off up to Bradford cheers 🍻
Love when you find takeaways that are little gems in places you would never expect. Price was unreal, if it tastes as good as it looks then its better than a bang on ten!
Food hygiene rating is 2. Kitchen staff preparing food not wearing gloves & the counter glass looked filthy. They probably cloned his card too. Worth visiting if you want to come down with a stomach bug while paying for the privilege. Another 10 from Danny 😂
I was cracking up when I see the waiter come out with trackies on & a woolly hat that’s about 15 years old 😂. Only up north 👍. & before all the northern lads give me grief I actually like all that down to earth shit
Danny and the team often do a great job of finding nice takeaways, but this place looked absolutly amazing, the choice of food, the prices, the super pleasent staff, wow! I so wish they had a store near me. Also the comments on this channel are really nice to read, they leave me feeling heartwarmed, and this time with a lump in the throat, what a bunch of nice people this channel attracts.
Even though Toronto has a lot of Indian/ Pakistani/Bengali grocery shops; none of them have a prepared food counter. This is why the UK is brilliant for South Asian food. It's very well established. People can name kormas and tikkas and bhunas. It's everyday verbiage there. It's awesome. I love Toronto. It's a massive foodie city. But the UK has an appeal.
When you say you are in Bradford & you head to a Pakistani place for food, my heart breaks! The food in Bradford is bloody lovely & so are the people. I used to get thru quite a bit when I lived in Salford, now it's a bit too far where I am now. I'd buy everything with confidence if I ate there. That supermarket looked good as well. If you ever fancy adopting a 55 year old bloke from Cumbria, giz a shout. I'd gladly sit in the back of the car as we drive from venue to venue sampling takeaways! This was a great vlog Danny showcases Bradford at its finest.
@@LINDSAYWINN Lindsay, was lovely to read your comment, only your first comments knocked me for six. I uses to always refer to food or people from Pakistan. I would shy away from adding the i. An old friend from Pakistan told to use the word Pakistani at is a reference to him, his family, his country and his food. The 4 word shortening of Pakistan is incredibly racist & I would never ever use the word. My comment came from my memories, taste memories and my friends, i intended it to show full gusto. Just like my friends mother would send into work on a Monday. There was nothing like it. Prior to my move to the North, I became influenced in my neighbourhood of the East End of London. Whitechapel has massive Bangladeshi community. Restaurants aplenty - but nothing like talking to my neighbours & the plates of food they would knock on my door with. Thank you to my Pakistani, and my Bangladeshi, friends for the teaching me and always - feeding me. My coat would not be off before there would be a knock from a neighbour & I'd be handed a plate. Missing London, Salford was totally amazing & Preston Asian folks. It's a bloody big world - people from Pakistan make it a a bit smaller by their hugs for folk. Pakistani food makes me sigh, heartbroken because I miss the real thing. Hope no offence with my reply. Just wanted to say that my comments are basically how I feel about the culture, the people & of course - the food. Best wishes friend.
@@idavo Just so you know, as a Pashtun with Afg/Pak heritage I see no racism in either your initial comment or this one I am replying to. Both show tremendous respect and admiration. You would be welcomed into any south asian community with your attitude and Birmingham with all its diverse cuisine and backgrounds would be more than hospitable to someone with so many kind words to say as yourself. Thank you
What a gem of a place. The Pizza looked fantastic and for 2 quid ... blimey mate . In fact the whole table full was bang on. A worthy 10 and the locals were so friendly too. For £17 all in I wouldn't choose which one, i'd have the lot no contest.
Can't beat Pakeezah, one of our favourites for a Saturday night take out. The larger kebabs they do which look like half pound burgers are to die for. The fish masala curry on a garlic naan is my go to. If you are having a party they will happily do as many portions as you need. Curry by the kilo, hundred kebabs, few hundred samosas not a problem.
The fish masala is superb. This place was a regular treat for my friend and me and I had almost forgotten about it during lockdown. I think we should start our regular visits again! Can't wait.
Read somewhere the name Pakeezah was inspired by an old Indian movie of the same name that released back in 1972. Not sure why I am telling you this, just heard someone say it a few days ago😂 Anyway, they serve some mouth watering food that's for sure. Excuse me for my useless tidbit
@@razahasnain9326 Pakeezah won Best Art Direction for Kulkarni at the 20th Filmfare Awards, and was also nominated in categories Best Film, Best Director (Amrohi), Best Actress (Kumari), Best Music Director (Mohammed), and Best Cinematographer (Wirsching). Anyway, Gonna try this place next time I'm up, also wanna try Abaseen cos I heard their chapli kebabs are spot on.
@Induxvideos Perhaps renting a small allotment, and growing you own vegetables, would be even more economical to you. As for the price, you have to remember, that this meal would feed perhaps two people.
@Induxvideos Ah! Now I understand what you getting at. Unfortunately that is the sad thing. Food, an essential part of life. Reduced to it's most basic theory, the price.
@Induxvideos Oh, no particular reason, just that from an environmentally problematic side of seeing things. I would have thought you might choose to walk, or even get a bicycle. These are much better, for the environment, than using a bus with all of the carbon emission issues. I believe they run on diesel. And though the carbon emissions are slightly lower diesel fuel contains slightly more carbon (2.68kg CO₂/litre) than petrol (2.31kg , overall CO₂ emissions of a diesel car tend to be lower, if my memory is correct.
Since i moved away from bradford i always get mi mum to bring some scran from there when she comes to visit, its the best food in bradford, absolutely awesome
That food looked the best. One would never have thought it (no disrespect meant to the establishment). The food was simply excellent. Well done Danny for an excellent review and well done to Pakeezha supermarket for such wonderful food. Bradford has a hidden gem in its midst.
That's the thing: it's the unassuming places where one can get the best and most authentic food, made with love and served/hosted with respect. I can't understand how many people think of good food as being whatever you get at Starbucks or Pret when it's factory-made and everyone is an inconvenience to the staff who don't have time for the customers.
OMG I am literally drooling watching this, my husband just said what are you watching as all he can hear is me saying mmmm oh that looks fit 🤣 could literally ring a takeaway now for an order, and that naan bread all the garlic and onions its torture 🙈, and that pizza 😋😋. We have nothing like that round my area, i need a trip to Bradford
7:21: Cameraman is very smart! He did not tilt the camera to show what food Danny was enquiring about otherwise...Peekaboo! We see you! :-D I haven't seen cameraman yet, but look forward to seeing him soon! :-)
Damn them prices are amazing.. my locals does extra large Lamb Kofte which is three skewers at £16 in in SE London, here its £5.99. Taking the piss around here.
You cant go wrong with a table of tasty food like that for £17, I enjoy the way Danny goes through every individual item in fine detail, the pizza looked especially good.
Nice and sunny wth a bit a bit of a chill in the air, love days like that, excellent for a walk with the dog or even a run. BTW @15:19 What was that?😂.
That food was a bargain, it all looked superb, and what a lovely bunch of guys in the shop, so helpful, that place is a winner no problem, the selection of food is mindblowing, they are doing a great job, you lucky guy Danny
You will be laughing, but that's what happened to me and my husband. We got there after being recommended. While we were deciding what to buy to take away, we were told that we can sit there. This was about 6-7 years ago. Those days there was just 1 big table there. Also there were about 5 chairs liyng around, not matching and not paired. Looked like there were nicked from some restaurant. The food always was great though.
The thing about Asian supermarkets like this is I've seen them but never ventured inside. I bet many people who aren't Asian would be the same. It's wrong really lol just because their main clientele is the Asian community doesn't mean everyone shouldn't give it a try.
@@TheBang911 I was thinking that. The Asian community aren't going to be paying high prices. I'll definitely give my local Asian supermarket a try. There's a pretty big one close by. I suppose it just depends how you've grown up and you stick to what you know. Perhaps more people, myself included need to be more like Danny and just give things a go. I'm saying give things a go like it's bungee jumping not simply trying out an Asian supermarket 😂
@@Matt19matt19 I completely understand what you mean about sticking to what you know that’s just how life works I suppose lol. Yes. The options at the butchers are so vast. You can get all sorts of marinade. Most of them a lovely on the bbq
That's handy Danny get your shopping and your lunch in one outing.. Our sainsburys have this going on. Xx 💙 Best wishes from Northern Ireland UK.. And our Euro Spar, They have slices of Banoffee in a plastic tray.Ours is a sit in cafe.Love Naan bread with a curry chip. 😋
It is a little gem and I recommend the masala fish and also chicken and spinach curry is beautiful I have them both on a regular basis with chicken boti and pilau rice and garlic naan shared with my fiancee I would recommend to anyone delicious
Sometimes when you least expect it, you pop into a place and get the most delicious food you have ever tastied, this place looks like a real gem of a find Danny.
Been there a few years ago. It was a discovery then and addiction ever since. Different flavours to your usual Indian. Can't drive passed it without stopping. Any food is nice. Samosas are some of the best.
Indian and Pakistani food- the same thing. In case u lot have forgotten, we were one country 75 years ago. One should be proud of one's heritage, it gives u an identity, it doesn't diminish u in any way.
Wow! I love a good Indian and this whacking great meal looks the business. Would have been nice if the cameraman had panned the camera down when Danny was trying to show us something. Everyone here looks so proud of their food and produce so I don’t blame Danny for a solid 10 on this one!👍
It was chapli kebab. It's like an oversized burger patty. It's traditional to add bone marrow for extra juiciness. If you get to eat chapli with bone marrow, jump on it,.it tastes that good.
We always pop in when we are in Bradford and take their great food back to Birmingham for freezing. Chicken and spinach is a favourite. Been going there for many years and seen the changes in the buildings but the food has always been good.
Goodness Gracious Me - Danny smashed this one outta the park. The food looks amazing. I'm making a trip there from Manchester this weekend just off your recommendation! Keep up the great work Danny love it!
Hey bud, great video. I'm listening to this on a 7.1 on my head set. I did sound like some one tore a bread apart. Very nice. Take care and be safe. 😊👍
Living in Wales it looks odd to see folk in supermarkets without masks. It’s mandated here. I’m sort of glad too after witnessing this. Been many times to Pakeezah and hope to be there next week again. Delicious.
Wow this place looks right up my street. I desperately want to go. Love cooking and world food ingredients and that food looked delicious. Think i need a trip 😍😍😍
As a Foodie you would lose your marbles in that Cafe, food looked amazing and so cheap. Staff so friendly and nice solid 10 no doubt. That Pizza slice looked amazing......that looks like some of the best food Danny has had, like he says thats a bit of me that.
I *love* curries and spicy food, this vid had my mouth watering 🤤 Hands down the best looking and sounding naan bread I've ever seen! And what great value!
Danny, you paid almost £40 for that Thai food recently and only got half of what you got here that Thai place wants to shut down, this looks fantastic and fresh the Thai food came out too fast for freshness
If Peter Kay's character in " Car Share" evolved into another series called "Meals on Wheels " he would be this dude ..it's already written itself . Love this guy and his reviews ..keep up the good work Dan the Man the curry courier ... 👍🙏
