I have been looking for my perfect home for a couple months now. This video will show you what type of house I'm looking for and how I am begininng the search process! FAQ: IG - TeAmoAaron
This video is so inspiring! Great practical tips. I'm currently in grad school and living at home with my parents. I love my people's but trust and believe I am ready to get tf up outta here. 😬 Not an expert by any means but I've heard that a common financial mistake people make is putting all of their money into their homes when they could have invested it (in like index funds). This might be me being nosy, but I was was wondering if that something that you were considering when evaluating how much of a downpayment to put on your first home.
i just purchased a home in ATL in feb! so excited for you and your house hunting journey! small FYIs: depending on where the townhome community is, townhomes don't have the greatest track record for resale value, unless your home is in the midtown, o4w/ponce area. something my husband and i had to learn was to not get too attached to any of the homes we researched because they can go off the market so quickly or have small flaws that cause major issues. ALSO don't forget closing cost fees, earnest money, inspection fees, etc. i wish you all the luck!!!!!!!
Me and my best friend started talking about buying out first home in the next five years. And I referenced your journey!! So happy for you and your progress!!!
I'm 29yo and living at home. People judge but... If my parents get tired of me and kick me out, I can buy a home out right, no mortgage. 👀☕☕☕ I save close to 100% of my income. My parents don't even want my help for groceries. I'll enjoy it while I can 🙃
Congrats! Buying a house can be fun I bought a crib around your age and it will paid off next year... just finished my doctorate program last year, working full time and raised a kid who is 27 now. It took me 15 years to payoff. Moral of the story when your mind is set you can accomplish anything and NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS just LIVE LIFE! Peace to a comfortable and safe home 🙏🏽✌🏽
Oh my goodness Aaron I was so excited when I saw this video (like literally squealed from joy)! I’ve been following you for a little while now and I am really rooting for you! I’ve learned so much about adulting from your videos and I find myself rewatching your financial videos often. I’ve been waiting for this video in particular and can’t wait to watch.
#1 love this for you, have been rooting for you, and I am so happy to see every milestone. #2 I’m finna move to Atlanta if there are houses for $170k... you can’t even get a (nice) condo for that in nyc 😪
Britney Grey It’s actually quite the opposite. If you really want to know why NYC is so expensive it’s 1. Because the population density is extremely high (small space compared to amount of people.) AND 2. Because of gentrification. You talking about NYC is ghetto, but you probably can’t even afford to live here. How you hating from outside the club and you can’t even get in?😂
I'm so excited for you as if you're my own daughter! Great informative video for first time homeowners. Looking forward to your updates. Oh and your hair looks Fab!! 🤗💞
Thank you for always being so transparent, honest, and genuine in your videos (especially ones like these!) it’s so great seeing another black woman thrive and giving others sound advice!!
I’ve just turned 27 and looking for a home in the UK and the struggle is real. I’m not single but I want to buy a house by myself. I’ve said the same thing the house for me will be for me.
I was just thinking about your house buying journey and wondering how it's going the other day. I'm glad all is well and that Corona isn't stopping the hunt. Take your time because you already know what's for you will always be for you. I'm rooting for you and can't wait to see what you buy!
I’m so happy for you! I watch your videos as a guideline 😀 while I’m only a sophomore in college now, I plan to be like you (a boss lady, saving money, and getting those degrees)
Wow the timing of this video is everything....I’m also 28 at home and it’s BEEN time to get out. Looking into grad school and don’t know if I’ll be staying in Atlanta or moving away. New Subbie! Excited for your journey💕✨
Yessss!! I'm rooting for you. This is a major milestone and you should feel so accomplished and proud. I've been watching since the end of high school/beginning of college (around 2014), and you've motivated me to stay focused and driven. I hope you find the house that you love...I can't wait to see the journey!! much love from nyc.
Congrats Aaron! I'm so excited for you on this journey. I love your style so I cant wait to see how you decorate it. I bought my first townhome last year and while it's nice, and the area is very desirable I plan to be here for a few years and move on to something else.
LOVED this video, I am in the same position in the Bay Area. Starting grad school in August and looking for a condo. Hope you keep making videos, very encouraging
I know how you feel, I'm 28 yo and I'll be 29 yo in August too. I'm ready to move and get my own home, no renting. Lol, good luck on your home buying journey. 😋
Congratulations!! I too purchase my first home at 28 (I've been on my own since 19) Couldnt afford it in florida but Texas is where it's at and you really get bang for your buck. I got 2,600 sqft home under 300k I did 6months of research. Sure, my commute to work is an 1.5 each way but I love my home. Welcome to your new home no matter what you choose!!
The goal is to buy a house for my 30th birthday. I got about 3 years and I'm trying to save all that I can to put down a good down payment. Seeing your progress and journey is so inspiring. I hope you can find a home you love!
Clicked so fast! I know this will be good! Congrats Aaron, you saved and were diligent and now you are able to buy a home! Freaking amazing! Inspirational. Okay I’m done with being sentimental now. Is this semester almost over for ya? I know you are killing it with the study game. 😊😊☺️☺️❤️
I love how your channel has grown and evolved from just hair videos. I’ve been here from the beginning and I’ve been on a similar journey to you but you have your shit way more together lol. I’m 27 and just graduated with my MFA in May. I’m moving to LA in August from NY. Cleaning and sorting my room right now lol just took a little break. I’m still waiting to hear back from the landlord about my lease application but I know it’s mine. I even booked my movers! This will be my first time living on my own besides dorm life so I’m excited.
use the redfine app they assign u a agent when u download the app so that is ur go to person for questions ..and as far as financing i used quicken loans app lol super easy!! i pretty much bought my home on my phone 😆
i love love looking at homes especially around atlanta, and Im not even in the buying process lol its just reminds me of HGTV and love looking at different designs, especially kitchen layouts!!. Good luck with your home buying process!
I'm in the same position of buying a home but I'm in Cali and prices are $350k+ smh. My process will be 3 years lol. I'm really taking my time but currently renting an apartment.
Get what you want period and take your time. I'm a little older and I'm looking to purchase soon too. Are you a Leo? If so, I am too 🥳 Many blessings to everyone 🙏🏼 💚
Love this video and series. We are about the same age (I’m 29) and I just purchased my first home in the DMV area and start my doctorate at Howard in August. Good luck, and take your time!
You are an inspiration! I'm 26, and just finished grad school (MBA). I just started a RU-vid posting about confidence, self-growth, beauty reviews. I wish I had filmed my grad school/work journey, but it's never too late to start. Now saving for a home. I pay my parents "rent" that they are keeping for me as a down payment when I ready or if I want to move to another city when it's safe.
Me and my fiancé are thinking of buying a duplex soon and this video was so helpful. I didn’t think of doing some of the stuff you advised on. Thanks so much babe c: !!!!! And congrats on being able to make this big step 😊❤️ happy for you !!
I love watching your channel because it’s real and shows your life especially while adulting. I was wondering what are your religious beliefs? Have you looked at homes and the churches that are near there too?
We're looking for our first home and it's so hard when others are so quick to buy all the cute houses lol. It's been a few days and I'm not even trying to hurry at this point. I'm choosing a bunch and hopefully we'll get one. PS I use the realtor.com site and the first time home owners program. Good luck!
Yess!! Girl it took me over a year but I closed on May 8th😁. Oh so Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.com are pretty slow. You can use the MLS site too! My realtor got me connected. Also keep an eye out for repairs such as my friend had to run coaxial cables upstairs as there were no connections!
I love all your advice in this! I'm 28 and started my home hunt, SO nice to see someone my age on YT house hunting for something reasonable. Most of my search results bring up 18 yr olds in million dollar bungalows lmao
