I would love to buy a Honda marine engine. Is this a four stroke? Can it be quiet down with a muffler? All bancas that I’ve been on are so loud you can’t even talk while driving. The boatmen must be deaf. If anyone has any ideas or tips on making the engine quiet, please leave comments or suggestions. Thanks!
Every engine can be made quiet. You will sacrifice a little power for the better hearing. A stock muffler from a predator 420cc will probably bolt right up to this since it is a Chinese clone of this engine.
@@16driver16 thanks for the info. I appreciate it. The reason that the typical banka is so loud I’ve been told is because using a muffler overheats the engine in a hot climate like the Philippines. When I get around to building one, my top prices is to make it quiet. Thanks again
@@rickbold9337 it could have an effect on the overall temperature, since the engine is only air cooled, id recommend a richer fuel jet than stock that should help it run a little cooler, i think the muffler will have worse effects from the heat than the engine. I don't think you can put an oil cooler on this engine but im not sure.
@@16driver16. maybe I could make a sound proof cowling using heat resistant foam inside of the cover? Also could a small fan blowing into the cowling help? Along with the muffler and the richer fuel jet?
LIke buying a light bulb here in te phils...they need to show you it is ok.. the prob lies with most of these guys have never un-crated one or know anything about it
I think the gx390 is 13hp Gx690 is 22hp. Maybe they tweek it to get more of a stroke. I'm not familiar with Marie small motors unless its attached to a prop. By the way, are outboard motors in the Philippines?
@@LynAnthonylifeinthePhilippines im in europe right now, planning to have a long vacation next year in the philippines. Im a boat builder as well so i need an engine same as yours but i need a higher hp like 22hp or more. So how's the performance of your engine? Manny thanks
Lyn & Anthony life in the Philippines thanks for the reply & the video..i was looking for honda marine engines to replace our GX200 in the future, only for recreational offshore jigging, hope to see videos of your boat after lockdown..keep safe
