From what I understand, the charging system is only enough to charge the starting battery. It would drain the battery slower than not having any charging system... But not by much. The main issue is really that you have to be going at 3600rpms constantly to get full charging capabilities out of it... Which I am guessing you wouldn't be on a golf cart. :/

You can actually install extra charging coils to these engines..
