I am silently developing an impressive collection of vintage Pokemon cards. I’m all about the odd stuff too, phone cards, playing cards, bus passes, business cards, stickers, etc... 17:10 I feel ya, give it right back, lol. Great video, thanks!
Love me some odds and ends! Legit anything vintage Pokemon or Mewtwo I just have to add to the collection! Congrats on your collection ever growing!! And I definitely would have given a big hit right back! Everyone wins in the hobby with kindness! 🍻🍻
She and her husband were amazing! She made it her mission for 30 mins to hook me up with everything I needed for my binders!! Couldn't ask for a cooler experience at con!
@@PokeGrillz I've heard something similar but never knew the whole story. Been collecting Pokemon pretty much since the start and made a business out of it with their massive collection.

You're crushing your vlogs, Grim! Keep up the great work. That mewtwo piece you picked up is soooooo sick.
Preciate it dude! It was such a solid show! Going to do a live either tonight or tomorrow showing off all the pickups because there was quite a bit more to show!
I am going to do a live this weekend showing off everything I got at con! A lot wasn't filmed! I can only find so many shows I can go to that make sense. Maybe I should hit garage sales every weekend for content haha lmao but much appreciated!
I'm using a second iPhone for recording. I have a chest mount strap off Amazon along with Rode wireless mics. Super simple setup along with being very light.
That is much appreciated! I love all the e-Reader sets now that I have progressed to them and have been hunting them down. You would be surprised on how affordable a lot of them are. At least I have been very lucky with vintage binder buys along with having a lot of friends in the hobby and card shops that hook me up a lot as well. That Tyranitar was the most I have spent in a long time on a single card and it hurt to do so!
@@alceja3522 that's actually awesome! I never thought what I did/made would help others but reading comments like this is awesome. Feel free to ask me anything moving forward! Best of luck with the ex era too! So excited to get to that one day!
Very easy to cave! I always wait until I feel the card is the right fit! Deal, condition, everything. I pass on beautiful cards if they are over priced or I just get bad vibes sometimes from the seller. Or crappy condition cards even if they are way way cheap.
Great condition and both promo cards inside are mint! It's a beautiful new piece to my personal collection. Staying as is and cards aren't coming out/getting graded
Man, love your videos, love the Eseries and I too I am struggling to find that Tyranitar, I need it in Italian and it's impossibile to find at a good price
Oh man I thought trying to find an English was hard enough. Finding an Italian version is probably even more rare, at least without a premium price involved. Thank you so much!!
@@GrimHorizonTV please dont stop!!! some of us never get to go to conventions and see all this cool content and i vicariously live through you collecting these sets! i always feel the win too seeing you finish one off
@@seanolmedo8915 I have no intentions to stop anytime soon! Honestly comments like these make me feel like I have no choice ha I definitely want others to see what I experience. I take certain things for granted but don't realize how many others just love to see the cards and interactions!! Much appreciate you!
@GrimHorizonTV it's honestly the interactions, the community and the love for helping eachother out that brings me back. Something about the pokemon community reminds me of the skateboard community. Just everyone rooting eachother on is amazing.
@@seanolmedo8915 as an ex skater I can totally see the similarities! Just like finally landing a trick at the park and having everyone hype you up big time!
Congrats on you finding yours as well! It is such a hard card to track down in clean shape! I feel like I've been hunting for this one card for the right deal for 4-5 cons now.
@@GrimHorizonTV the hunt at Con’s and card shows is so much fun. Anyone can buy cards online but purchasing them in person brings so much more fulfillment to the hobby. Keep up the great videos!
@@Gruves_Collects totally agree. I don't buy a single card online unless completely unrelated to my vintage sets. I'll buy modern cards I like or slabs on eBay that I can snipe on a good deal. But I'll hunt these sets in person until I'm done!! 🤘🏼
im not sure if its been answered before but how do the lines work at these collectacons? the line you showed was it for everyone or just general entry? How longs it take to get through the line and how early do you recommend getting there? If you go vip is it worth it?
Both the lines I showed were general entry and very long. Anyone with VIP can enter at 9AM (an hour earlier) and skip the general admission line. I typically find VIP very much worth it for waiting in line alone plus you have a special line at the voice actors if you want to meet/greet or get something signed by them.
She hooked me up big time because she knew I was working on a master set. Only took what I needed, hopefully another collector can find more that they need later on! (buy totally get having them all would have been awesome too. They were so minty!)
Heyo! Congrats on getting that T-tar! So that’s all done with the holos? Or the entire set? If not the whole set, how far off are you to completing it now? 🤔 Either way, I’m excited for ya! 🎉 Keep up the great work man!
Thank you so much! I'm only done with actual holos and Crystals. I need a metric ton of reverse holos. I think still over 100 for Aquapolis and 40ish for expedition on reverses
How do you manage to get such good deals all the time? In Australia i feel like I'm lucky getting 10%, and you're nearly getting 50% discounts on these amazing cards!
Honestly depends on the venue. Chicago was very prepared for heavy foot traffic and got everyone in relatively quickly. New Jersey however was a complete shit show and some people were waiting an hour or two plus due to fire marshals getting involved
When we went to this event, it opened at 10am, we got in line a little before 10:30, and were in before 11. The line felt like it was moving the whole time.
@@Tails2Astonish thanks for chiming in! 30 mins isn't too terrible especially if you were moving the whole time. The lines also very well could have gotten longer after I filmed them at 10. More and more people kept walking up from parking.
@@ChillStudyDate Absolutely condition is everything. The best advice is read up on conditions with TCG player. They kinda set the standard for how to identify a cards condition. Then definitely select the proper grade when comping a card. The main thing I run into at these shows is condition/price being a lot higher than the reality of the card. People pricing Moderate Play cards at Near Mint pricing and expecting you to pay it. There are some great vendors out there and then there are some not so great.
Hey man love the work I just finished my vendor pov it's up! I was able to salvage day 1 and wanted to say thank you for trying to help me with my camera when you saw me in distress 😂🫶
Just subbed and will check out the vid! It was no problem at all helping the best I could. Glad you were able to save a lot of the footage. Working with tech can be great and super frustrating at the same time when it decides to just stop working.
