BUYING This 69 Cadillac Custom With A MAJOR Surprise (Not Bodies In The Trunk)

The hunt for the perfect lowered Cadillac has been on for awhile. Kyle wanted a cool looking car to cruise around town and almost every one we could find for sale had major rust and of course "they're all like that" in the ads. This 69 Cadillac Deville coupe was completely clean underneath, there was no rust, and it ran and drove great. Kyle bought it, we drove it on the trailer and headed home. The setup in the truck is pretty amazing!

One of the coolest cars you’ve had on the channel, IMO. I love it. I would definitely drive that beauty!

The '69s are awesome Caddys. Those lantern style taillights are super iconic! I'd change the rims out, but it looks pretty sharp otherwise. Definitely would keep all the mods and weekend cruise in it as-is. Whoever modded it did so very tastefully, just the right amount to make it an enjoyable modern-day cruiser without destroying the charm and character.

Just a work of art. It’s amazing comparing a 50 year old car to a car from today. Of coarse cars today are better in sense. They have more technology and faster. But cars all look the same today. Cars back then were so beautiful. This design will be cool forever to me. And cars like this you could teach your your son or daughter how to fix it with basic knowledge and basic tools. I guess that’s how life was back then. I mean im only 40 but life was so much more meaningful back then.

My step dad loved Cadillacs, one of the best ones he had was a 69 Coupe De Ville. It was a smooth driving car with a 472 in it. He finally got rid of it and eventually after mom and he divorced and he retired he bought another really nice one that I got to drive later when he moved to his retirement cabin. I remember how torquey and smooth it was and it fried the right rear tire for a second when I slightly punched it to get onto the freeway. They were very well built comfy tanks. Tell him to enjoy it, really nice cars.

Never understood the low rider shtick. Never the less, this beast is completely awesome. Just enough bling to make you notice without ruining the original look. If I had the budget I would go Holley EFI under the hood and detail the interior including that mess of a trunk. The shift lever gets replaced asap.

It's just another "looking cool" sub-sect of the automotive hobby world. With some of them becoming more art than car. I'm sure a lot of the dudes doing the hydraulic hop contest cars dont see the point in mud bogging, but plenty of people enjoy it.

Double check that the power wire for the HEI is a 12 gauge wire all the way from the firewall to the distributor. I’ve made that mistake on an older truck and had start up issues. And I agree with a previous commenter that the ignition timing may not be correct.

Check the mechanical advance on the distributor. That hesitation on starting could be the timing issue. The HEI sitting way up front had a problem with rust getting to the mechanical advance system.
@armorer94
@armorer94 Год назад
If it has HEI it's an upgrade. Those came with points and a coil.

@Bbutler787
@Bbutler787 Год назад
The HEI distributor still has a mechanical advance mechanism under the rotor, same as the original distributor. Those flyweights will stick in any position if the shaft has been allowed to rust. Then you wind up with an improper timing setting.

i had a 67 coupe de ville. you can swap out that steering box for a 78 trans am unit. its a bolt in, quite a difference in steering responce. id use a edelbrock afb carb or a holley vac secondary 750. A B&M transkit will make the tires chirp on 1-2 shifts, the turbo 400 is very HD. dual exhaust would be good with glass packs. you can add hei ignition from a later model 472, i think a 75 will just drop in. I like the air ride setup on yours. ok
