Those look like really nice boards. I have been splitboarding for somewhere around 8-9 years and agree with all of these tips. Except I would add one caveat: I would not want to put poles inside my backpack because I would not want the tips to poke into anything. For me, I use a floatation backpack and strap poles to the outside with tips pointing down so if I ever did have to deploy the float bag, the tips would not puncture it. But, yeah, this advice is spot-on in my opinion. I've tried a few boards without camber and they definitely don't hold as well as a cambered board on the skin up. I have a flat (no camber) board currently and one cambered board. I used to have a splitboard with a small flat spot underfoot but with a rocker profile elsewhere on the board and that small spot underfoot didn't do enough.

Thanks for the comment, agree, wear poles on outside so you can whip them out. Just noted that you can put collapsible poles inside if you want. Have an awesome season!

Hi Håvar, great idea! Stay tuned. I used the Disruptive hardboot last season for about 50% of my touring. On skin track its no question the best thing there is. Traversing is a breece. Riding it's a mixed bag. /Mats

Tnx. I will try hardboot this season. I've heard different opinions. I'm used to stiff boots on snowboard.

@@Haavar994 i am the oposite.. i am a feeestyle snowboarder so i use boots with 3/4 stifness and a great flex... i can do everything, from carving to freeride offpists and of ciurse jibbing and jumping in the park ... i once tryied boot with 7 stiffness and flex and was orrible ... could even do a beginner turn not even possible to link a second turn. i was looking at salomon splitboards and their trekking boots but i m confused and not convinced at all. a video on this topic would be great thank you

@@Haavar994 I always looked for the stiffest softboot I could find, and after getting the Northwave Domain, I felt it wasn't enough... I was using Spark with the velcro strap to get more stifness but it wasn't enough... toe edge would always cause me pain in the palm of my feet.... I was using my fingers to stay on edge... Now I ride Atomic Backland Expert CL, I saw Phantom had a lever you can change and make a custom Phantom hardboot with any Backland boot. I have a very wide feet and the backland is not the best fit, but it's miles better than any softboot I've tried... I might be a wierdo, I bough the Phantom lever with the stiffest spring they have, and the boots felt suuuper soft and "bendy" I Just ride with the original solid lever and let the Boot do the flexing, its a 90 flex and different models are stiffer, I'd say I wish it was a bit stiffer sometimes, but I just tie it tighter... Going up is just unbeatable... I like it so much I use it on resort days... even to do eurocarve with a Korua board... If you already look for stiff snowboard boots, try it. You'll love it!

More surface area is good but wide is a no go? Seems counterintuitive. Even for a large boots above 46 EU size?

Then why do they always make split boards smaller than the solids?
