my advice is buy eBay you can pick up chains for under spot through auctions. Grabbed a 3mm 14k mariner chain for $20 a gram last month. Jacoje charges around $50 a gram if I'm not mistaken

scrap gold price would be around $240 for 14k, he is not buying the bracelets for 240...hes paying around $290-$310 for it so his markup is not high when you factor in the box, cost of packaging, percentage that shopify takes out, paypal fees. if you can find a better deal go for it, but you will most likely get screwed over.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing until I started doing research...I looked at the 20 inch- Approximately 208 grams in 14kt gold rope chain on the website. According to what I have learned, to calculate the weight of the chain that is pure gold, you multiply the purity of the Karat by the total grams of the chain which is 58.3% purity multiplied by 208 grams = 121.68 grams… so from the total weight (208g) of the chain 121.68 grams of it is gold (approximately)...then to calculate the value of gold in the chain based on the spot price, multiply 121.68g by $39.52 per gram (spot price at the time of writing this) which equals = $4808.80 (the price of 121.68g of gold)… I know you want to know what my point is... well here it is...there is a $3,511.20 difference between the spot price and the asking price??? Why??? $4808.80 is the price for pure gold...There are other variables to factor in the $3511.20 difference i.e overhead for manufacture/dealer, PROFIT etc...With this example above I believe he is charging $68.38 per gram which is 28.33 over SPOT(this is another way of looking at the $3511.20 difference)…I'm not factoring the 86.32grams of alloy in the chain (don't believe I'm suppose to?)... This is an industry of business and for someone to sell a finished product for less than the value of the raw material they must have a surplus of material that they bought really cheap before current pricing, have the hook-up or it's FAKE (my guess)... If I'm off track someone please fill in, I just started researching about this industry last night...if I'm wrong about this then this is GREED or this industry has high profit margin...If the latter is the case, I'm in the wrong business...

In Jacoje's video, he calculates the price/per gram assuming the entire piece of jewelry doesn't contain any other alloys.(His pieces are 14k and 18k which means the weight of his pieces include some other metals) Gold spot prices are based 24K gold. (Pure gold with no other metals)
