@@EgorZA82 That was a good answer! The Artemis mission fixes the issue of money. They are putting a space station in orbit around the moon. Artemis will doc with the space station around the moon to enter the moon and it docs to leave the moon. The Appolo missions were designed for singular trips. It just ate up money and people lost interest. It took fifty years for interest to pick back up. Also we are doing it right this time. We are shooting for mars and beyond.

So. I can 100000% understand those saying this is an admission we “didn’t go there” and the guy sounds shaken and stirred. However. Considering his age and him trying to apparently frame an answer of substance for an eight year old. When he says “we didn’t go there”. Bret: I think you’re trying to “fill in the narrative” in order to save yourself from the troubled thought that maybe we’ve bee lied to. Why would you want to keep that narrative alive? @@sonicalstudios If you watch the full video, not just the cut version shown here, it becomes much more clear that he’s saying we need to look at why we stopped going in the first place to realize why we haven’t gone back. And there are hours and hours of real footage from the moon. That footage clearly shows an environment that can’t be replicated on earth. And if that’s still not enough, the LRO and other satellites have taken pictures of the Apollo landing sites.

Sounds to me like he's saying IT DIDN'T HAPPEN (meaning GOING BACK) and we need to know WHY it didn't happen (GOING BACK). He's answering the girl's question of WHY we didn't GO BACK. "If we want to KEEP doing something, we need to know WHY SOMETHING STOPPED in the past, if we wanted to KEEP it going." This implies they DID go there initially, but CEASED further persuit. Context is key.

He did answer the question. After this person cherry picked what Aldrin said, Buzz said the reason we haven't been back to the Moon is money. It was very expensive to go to the Moon. Congress had cut NASA's budget which caused the last 3 planned Apollo missions (18, 19 & 20) to be cancelled.

He clearly admitted he didn’t go to the moon, that nobody went there, and he tells the girl to ask herself why people keep lying about going there. He says it in such a confusing way that the little 8 year old didn’t understand anything, but a mature audience cannot not understand what he meant. Edwin Buzz Aldrin a true legend and war hero, a patriot and the second man to walk on the moon. He is talking about the moon missions stopping and wanting to know why it stopped. He was talking to an 8 year old and he wasn't going to tell her that the funding to Nasa stopped because the government didn't think it was as important as supporting wars. Once we won the space race to the moon all interest seemed to end. No one was even watching the Apollo 13 mission until the world found out what happened and that the astronauts might die.

So many think this is real. I'll burst your bubble. Premiere Pro (Photoshop for video) - has a neat feature. You can take multiple interview cuts, and it inserts frames to erase the camera's "cut." It's to shorten interviews. (So it looks like he's continuously speaking. However, half of what he's saying is missing here. ) If you use it for good, only cut out "um" and "gee," and lip smarks- it's ok. If you use it for evil - you create fakeries like this.

For all those taking pot shots at this video....let's see how well you answer difficult questions at age 94 with a career in the harsh conditions of space travel. I will admit he lost his train of thought on the answer here but Buzz Aldrin has been very emphatic going way back that the moon landings were totally legit. There is a MOUNTAIN of evidence to support that and this video in no way changes anything. What has changed is all the voices of doubt that have popped up and folks' unwillingness to believe.

Space Shuttles were designed to only go to low Earth orbit. They were completely different than the Apollo Spacecraft which had a Service Module, a Command Module and a Lunar Module.

After that they used up the rockets they had built in advance, Then the reason to take this crazy effort was over, and they turned back to look at the earth, not the least to set out spy satellites with the Space Shuttle. This is actually a brilliant answer because he didn’t want to lie to the child at the same time he couldn’t tell her the truth caught between a rock and a hard place he managed to say that we didn’t go not that we haven’t been back but that we didn’t go and then covered that up quickly by saying “if something stops in the past it’s good to know why it stopped” This way he’s not objectively having to say that we went to the moon when he’s already said we didn’t so he’s still being honest he’s not saying what’s stopped- that’s why he uses the word something rather than visiting the Moon- All in all you have to hand it to buzz he’s handling being drunk answering small children’s questions and being honest all the same time pretty difficult really

Yeah we only found fast amounts of Helium 3 that we could use for scientific purposes. Further more, A research base on the Moon could provide scientific insights that are difficult or impossible to obtain on Earth. One especially interesting line of research could determine if life ever existed on the Moon. Besides research, a Moon base would be a sensible intermediary step for extending human activities to Mars.

@Jenna Massey Somehow I think you'll chicken out on a response. Please prove me wrong. I know the moon is solid because it obscures stars behind it, it has shadows on its surface which change over time, the craters closer to it's edges are more oblique which suggests it is spherical, and it has a slight wobble which (in combination with observations from all over Earth's surface) reveal enough surface to cover 59% of a sphere. That is, we DON'T just see one side, we see a little more than one side. I know the moon landings themselves are real because they show parallel lighting (which was impossible with studio lighting in the 1960s), a large vacuum environment (larger than the biggest vacuum chambers of the modern day, as demonstrated by the dust never billowing) and astronauts in heavy suits jumping large heights without bending their knees fully and with no credible evidence of wires.

@Jenna Massey That's not the "wobble" at all, it's atmospheric refraction on a bad day for observations. The wobble is over the course of 30 days, the moon pans side to side because it's tidally locked but has an eccentric orbit. If you look at observations over a month, you won't just see one side. You'll see ever so slightly more.

Well I’ll tell you, it(like many other conspiracy theory “proofs”) is a camera artifact. It’s called a hot pixel, it where dust gets on the sensor and causes the camera to register something that isn’t there.
