Such a Massive Upset to lose Pete Didn't even find out until this week Really Really Great Shame Fantastic Band Buzzcocks and perfect pop punk rock Gutted Rest in Peace Pete 🎶🎵🎸
I had a leather jacket like that back in the day....loved it....loved the smell of it....wish I still had it.....wish I was that young again....lol....thanks for posting.
I'm supposed to be applying for a job tonight... does anyone else watch old youtube punk videos when they're supposed to be doing something important? Great song.
This is so freakin' cool! The Buzzcocks were effin' brilliant! Pete Shelley is the epitome of style & has the voice of an angel! This is what you youngsters should be listening to nowadays! Get yourselves a dose!
i was brought up on these along side the who, the jam, bad manners and so on thanks 2 my dad. im now 22. i still love my music like, dnb, dubstep and house music but i always come back to my roots now and then... great band
ntratusol give you dad a kick in the ass. This was my soundtrack while growing up. Its all the same, so enjoy it while its there and dont wish to be anywhere else. Peace!
Might as well feel good about it..."it is what it is." I almost forgot about this song. Thanks AARP. I'm about to break something. God, at least Pete Shelley's still alive. Isn't he? Anyway this was always one of my favorite Buzzcocks songs.
i had the absolute pleasure of seeing the buzzcocks as i saw lad along with devo and another band i forget the buzzcocks they epitomise the best of british music, fuck the pistols1,theclash3absolutely love music for working class boys.ANOTHER MUSIC IN A DIFFERENT KICHEN
Damn, this sounds like classic Blur/Albarn britpop. Had no idea the buzzcocks and blur had such a similar sound (at least with this song), seeing as how they were two decades apart.
back in 81' i was shopping at k-mart and i found a orange t-shirt with white letters in bold saying BUZZCOCKS on it dam it was only $3.49 but thought time damm i wish i still had it
My dad raised me on the buzzcocks, television, the stranglers, joy division. Im only 20 but I feel old no one my age knows what the hell im talking about :(
I saw them around '86 (?) at a big dance club that was formally Studio 54. All my friends wanted to go to the VIP lounge and all of a sudden the Buzzcocks were playing on a stage. I couldn't believe it. I said, "That's Pete Shelley!" He played a few songs. (Maybe it wasn't the Buzzcocks, but Pete Shelley. Anyway, my friends didn't know who he was and the crowd was not that responsive. He put on a good show, but I suppose people just don't get him. Pity.
i thought of a song in my class, and i said "everbody's happy nowadays" and my teacher was like "Oh! i know that song!" and i got confused, because i had never heard it before. and i was singing this song. :l
Lots of T.V. shows used to have bands lip sync to studio tracks rather than play live. Just look at the drummer - he's got a practice pad on his snare.
@scobiedog1 Right? This performance was totally synched, however it doesn't cheapen the immediacy of the real feelings exhibited within the material of the songcraft. Take that 2000's era pop-tart!!!
@scobiedog1 I thought it was about Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, mainly because I think a lot of the lyrics and the title are dialogue in it. Could be an illusion of mine tho.
just me or does this particular song sound heaps like the strokes style. ( i am in no way saying that they ripped off the strokes, im not a complete idiot)
