I've never seen an engine company get water on a fire so quickly. You folks are pros, volunteer or not. Kudos.

This is what I like about some of these POV en route videos... They give the viewer some idea of how large some of the covered area each of these fire companies are assigned to, as well as just how far the first responders have to travel to an emergency call...

Engine came to full stop, boots on the ground and water under 1 minute after arrival. Well done, Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department!

EXCELLENT job guys, off the engine tool in hand, packed up ready to work, line stretched and water on the fire within a few seconds. Once again.........excellent job!!! I know it's " just a car fire", but it shows how this deot operates

Just started with my dept several weeks ago. We typically only have 1 person on-scene for the first 20 to 30 minutes for most daytime calls. The 1 lane, narrow dirt roads and hairpin turns really delay any backup, plus our population is so light. We don't have a single hydrant in our district, just a bunch of creeks down in the hollers. We had a fire on one of those 1 lane dirt roads several weeks back and a dept that responded for mutual aid had to fill from the creek and drive the engine backwards 2 miles on that curvy dirt road up a ridge to refill the engine at the top of the ridge. Before the mutual aid dept got there my captain was doing what he could by himself with a 2.5 inch hose. He had to do that for about 25 minutes.

I agree with you Fox 100%. I was a volunteer firefighter for five years, if some people don't know what they're talkin about they don't need to comment on anything

I see a lot of complaints about it in the comments here but I thought the siren on this truck was the supreme fire engine siren. Too cool.

When I bought a house In Rohnert Park California, our house was basically across the street from the fire department there my wife's all "great were probably going to have are to here the siren all the time! I said I love it! And low and behold the fire truck Is came out Sirens and airhorn( FULL ON GROVER STUTTERTONE Screaming past our house And I gave my👍 THUMBS UP 👍 as they went past!! Then I started tearing up My wife at the time said why are you crying? I said fuck I Always wanted to be a firefighter , life saver, (A REAL HERO) She put her arm around Me and said why didn't you? I said I just couldn't do it because of what they have to deal with at accident scenes and heights I don't like heights.. but I love my job as a mechanic! I think there needs to be a couple LE’s that follows the truck. Start giving tickets out to the people that don’t pull over. I know you don’t always have time but at least try. They one person in the car that past the truck on the freeway definitely needs to get a ticket. I’m sorry but what if you had a medical emergency. Wouldn’t you want people to pull over so the ambulance/fire truck could get there faster? It’s the law no matter what. Any ways, great video!!

Brilliant work, these volunteer departments really get to it.

Volunteer fire fighters train on a weekly basis and most dept's have between 40-100 Volunteer's. We also train with our surrounding FDs. And closest city depts. These guys go to Lancaster alot. My local volunteer company assists the city of Allentown almost weekly. We have US RT 22 I78 and the PA turnpike northeast extention in our township as well.

They talked a game plan before you got on scene. This is what a lot of departments need to start. This is why this department had water on fire so fast. Game plan ! , ! Can’t say it enough. Communication and be knowing and doing not looking and learning.

heavy on the sirens there, wasn't too much traffic but then again, you can't never to too heavy on the horn

Generally a good job especially for such a long run. Just a few comments: the one firefighter came up to the care without a tool. He should have anticipated what would be needed. When he returned with the proper tool he didn't hustle. A good the thing, the firefighters avoided the tires and the ends of the bumpers. The shock absorbers can burn and shoot to the front and/or rear of the car like canons. Burning tires are obvious problems and it's not safe to stands next to them when they catch fire. Generally, you folks did a great job on adifficult fire.
