It's a shame most of people know Bvlgari mostly for their perfumes and not for their achievements in watchmaking. They are incredible and deserve a lot more popularity in the mainstream. Thank you for the video.
Congratulations, great video :) Maybe im wrong, but i feel like 1.8mm is the whole watch (finissimo ultra) and the other thickness mentionned are for the movement. Cheers from france :)
That is correct. It is very random that Alexander mentioned the thickness of the entire case for one watch, and the thickness of the movements for the other 7. There are two explanations: for the most recent record breaking watch, the movement IS the case, so it is impossible to separate the two measurements (the caseback of the watch is the baseplate of the movement). The second explanation that I can think of is that the case thicknesses for the other 7 are not all entirely record breaking, but the movement thicknesses ARE record breaking for those types of movements. For example, maybe JLC or Piaget can claim the world's thinnest WATCH for a given category, whereas Bulgari is claiming the world's thinness MOVEMENT for that category. But I am not sure either. Fantastic video. Loved seeing all the world record breaking watches in one video. I've seen them separately before but this a great video to get someone right into the ethos of the octo finissimo line. Off to watch the video with Jean-Christophe Babin! The gentleman said they did not have any watch to sell , not more , he was not to receptive about my questions. Maybe i did not look $$$ enough for the shop. Ladies shopping for jewelry were more ‘ classy ‘ then me for sure. Anyway my budget was a bit lower then these puppies! Bought somewhere else ….

I stumbled upon this video as I am buying the octofinissimo chrono gmt with rubber/leather band and since i can't wait to recieve it, i watch every video about it on the internet. @@WatchAdvisor Its a fair criticism - they make nice "hero" watches which are genuinely amazing, but these are a tiny, tiny fraction of that Bulgari sells. The majority are generic "fashion watch" looking tat with ETA automatic (if you are lucky) or (more realistically) quartz movements being sold at in-house watches. Bulgari is making high-horology, record breaking watches for the publicity and then trying to use that good-will to offload terrible ones at massively inflated prices.
Alexander put to see the thickness with the caliper. Something is wrong with the measurement of the Tourbillon and Minute repeater. The difference between the 1,8 mm and 1,95 cannot be real as seen in the picture. Is at least double
Good remark! The numbers given do always refer to the thickness of the caliber... The Finissimo Ultra (1,8 mm) has no case, since the base plate is the case... Maybe this was expressed in a misleading way from my side... Apologies!

@@WatchAdvisor yes, I'm impressed by Bulgari, Cartier and Grand Seiko in 2022. Bulgari îs a.fasion brand, but with the Octo line they are on the frontier of watchmaking.
