I am constantly in awe of Terence who has been my tutor/mentor and inspiration for 17 years. his knowledge and experience are vast and interesting. This is a wonderful therapy that really inspires confidence.
It can be a great help for this sort of thing - you can find a list of practitioners here: www.bwrt-professionals.com/pages/practitioners. They almost all work online as well as face to face, so location needn’t be a problem. Good luck!
I am the same and I'm excited to start my first session with a practitioner next week. I've read a lot of good things about it. See you on the flip side 🙂
I’ve been using Kinesiology for a number of years now, releasing physical and emotional trauma and have been looking for something that works deeper to release issues such as the ones mentioned, permanently. I also work w another modality designed especially for women, that releases emotions at the epi genetic level and it is truly amazing. Is this also working at the epi genetic level Terence? And does it work as well on women as it does on men?
Yes, it does work at an epigenetic level to prevent trauma being transmitted to offspring - and it works on both males and females equally well. The youngest client I know of was 6 years old and the oldest 82, so it has a good spread!
Our practitioners know exactly how to deal with that situation - and though many people think it sounds too good to be true, it's achieving great results. In South Africa particularly, it's now being taught in the Masters Level psychology courses in two universities, is being used by psychologists, psychiatrists, police and military personnel. The best thing would be to have a chat with one of our registered practitioners - you can find them listed on www.bbrs.org.uk and many of them provide a free initial consultation.
Hello Laurie - it's actually 8 years on now and has been available for clients suffering with all forms of psychological illness throughout that time. To find a practitioner, go to www.bwrt-professionals.com
I see a lot of articles and videos on how this is supposedly a great therapy. A descriptions sound a little too good. But there's no actual information on how to do it. How would this help people from just one session. It makes no sense, and how can I find someone who employs this technique?
We have hundreds of practitioners around the world, and most work online as well as face-to-face. Here’s the link to the consumer site: www.BWRT-professionals.com
Well, this is not the place to describe the exact methodology to be used, but it's certainly something that BWRT could help with. The best thing would be to have a chat with one of our advanced practitioners, so go to this page: www.bwrt-professionals.com/pages/practitioners and select 'Registered Advanced Practitioner' from the 'select member grade' dropdown list and you will have a large selection to choose from. They almost all work online as well as face-to-face, and BWRT works 100% as well either way.
Yes - it works every bit as well over video or even telephone, actually. Go to this page and you can check our practitioners out, and you choose USA from the Location dropdown. Email me directly if you need more help: info@bwrt.org
Dear Mr Watts, I was diagnosed with PTSD and GAD during 2018 and I've experienced severe anxiety for most of my life. It's gotten so bad that I've started experiencing dissociation symptoms and emotional numbing. It's horrible. Do you think BWRT could help me??
Hello Aaeesha - sorry to hear of your problem. In a word, YES, BWRT has been successful over and over again with these symptoms. Go to www.bbrs.org.uk and click on the ‘Find a Practitioner’. Type: Level 2 into the lower search box, and you’ll find the most qualified practitioners - many of them work by Skype, so you’ll have plenty of choice. I’m certain we’ll be able to make a difference for you!
Don't worry! You don't have to actually say anything other than when you tell the practitioner what you want to change and how you want to feel instead of how you feel now. Then the practitioner will guide you on every step of the way.
Can't find any peer reviewed literature. Endorsement by NIH or similar?? Practitioners all seem to be hypnotherapists as opposed to psychiatrists, PsyD?? Need PsyD, MD, LCSW.
No you're quite wrong. We have many clinical psychologists, also psychiatrists and even a professor or two. Type 'clinical psychologist' (without the quote marks) into the search box on www.bwrt-professionals.com and you'll those who want to show in searches listed. Or you can go to www.bwrtsa.co.za to check out this listed on our South African division (they are almost all psychologists and psychiatrists). There are no peer reviews as yet - nobody has got around to doing one, though there was a Ph.D. awarded from Lincoln University (UK) in 2018 where the thesis was on BWRT.
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. - Corinthians 15,51-52
This is unscientific nonsense. To suggest, for example, that your mind moves to pick up a glass of water half a second before you actually do it, would not explain how, to use another illustration, the brain would deal with thoughts about whether one should marry somebody or not (something that can occupy one's mind for months or even years - not half a second or so).
On the other hand, when you accidentally knock something off a shelf, your other hand flies out to catch it... but you don't think about it first. There is actually solid science behind it here: www.nature.com/news/2008/080411/full/news.2008.751.html and here: www.nature.com/news/2008/080411/full/news.2008.751.html as well as in many other publications. Our brain responds to stimuli (even the indecision in your example is a 'wait' response to a stimulus) before we are consciously aware of it. Many experiments, including one by Stephen Hawking not long before his death showed the same result and BWRT practitioners are currently doing some great work (pro bono) with NHS frontline workers via the charity Frontline19. I promise, it's not nonsense at all - though I do understand how difficult it can be to grasp the concept at first. To find out more about it, visit our website at www.bwrt.org
@@TerenceWatts1 The science/conclusions behind this are questioned in the very link you provide (you sent two links--but they are identical). Moreover, the points made in the article do not explain how we come to make decisions such as whether or not somebody would be a suitable marriage partner. In this case, and thousand of other similar examples that could be given, we are not talking about pressing a blue or red button like a monkey in a cage. The theory you buy into takes no account of the neurological complexity of decision making.
@@estant5129 Apologies - I inadvertently posted the same link twice. This is the other one: www.sciencemag.org/news/2008/04/case-closed-free-will The articles are not about BWRT, of course, so don't show how complex decisions are made. BWRT is not really designed primarily for relationship work but excels at resolving issues such as PTSD, CPTSD, OCD, addictions and more, though the techniques for such can obviously not be covered here. Our practitioners include psychiatrists, medical doctors and psychologists, and it has even been covered in detail in academic texts. So I agree that life is more complicated than pressing a red button or blue button, but ever more mental health professionals are enrolling for training after hearing of the results their colleagues achieve. The media page on our website shows some 'real world' examples.
@@TerenceWatts1 hi, I note you state that bwrt is not primarily for relationship work. Would it be helpful to get over a relationship ending though, and to stop thinking about an ex partner etc? Thanks
Yes, very effective for complex PTSD, especially with an advanced practitioner, though it often responds well to even Level 1 work. It's been used with both Autism and learning difficulties though some adjustment to the process is needed to get success, which is most of the time!
