Technically BJP did not hold any of the 13 seats - 3 seats in Bengal the MLAs had already defected to the TMC prior to the elections. So technically BJP gained two seats - one in HP from an independent and one in MP from the Congress. Given the circumstances in Bengal it is very difficult for opposition parties to win by-polls since the TMC goons are active and threatened BJP voters.

In the current scenario, LOP means Level One Psychopath. Congress is massively misreading the mandate in their jubilation. On a tweet asking the troll army to go kind on Smriti Ji should be taken with a pinch of salt. Whenever a politician particularly from Congress says don't do violence means they are signalling for more violence. Even Obama said that Rahul has “a nervous, unformed quality about him, as if he were a student who'd done the coursework and was eager to impress the teacher but deep down lacked either the aptitude or the passion to master the subject." The BJP candidate who lost in Badrinath was a sitting Congress MLA from the same seat. He joined the BJP just before elections and lost. We have seen many such candidates from other parties who joined the BJP during elections but lost badly. I'm not an expert, my political experience is almost zero, BJP leadership knows better than me still I believe it's high time BJP should stop doing this. Such Imported candidates add nothing, it creates discontent among BJP workers/local leadership, and the result is well-known. Even in UP (general elections), a big number of imported candidates lost badly. Give chance to the dedicated karyakartas who work 24/7 and devote their lives to the party. Even if they lose, they'll work harder..

Modi must first and foremost shed off the sab ka saat sab ka vikas cloak as that has failed him miserably!! Goimg forward he, BJP and the RSS must purely focus on implementing all the the pro-Hindu policies and bring in pro-Hindu laws! 2. If Modi is stubborn enough to stick to his views and agendas (read as anti-Hindu), he better resign or he will take the BJP down with him in 2029! 3. The thousands of crores that he spends on developing on the Bullet train is a criminal waste of tax payers' monies. He must spend them on setring up temples and temples bases economies all over India, including goshalas, vedic centers, employment for Hindus in the temple eco-complex, etc. 4. He must end quota and reservations for muslims and christians, end Haj subsidies and criminalize conversions 5.The list is long, but for starters the above should suffice. The more he alienates the Hindu voter base, the more disastrous will be BJP's poll performance gping forward.

Modi and shah are not focusing on Hindutva policies and I think it is correct strategy. Look at at Ayodhya and now Badrinath. Both have voted BJP out. If these places can oust BJP after what all the modi and BJP did last 10 years it is very clear many Hindus do not care for their religion or way of life and have not learnt anything what happened to Hinduism last 1300 years. @humanbeing6838 problem is not the person named. What I meant was why he did not do his Dharma of dealing with corruption? That's the root cause for all the problems. Indian in general, lacks ethics. Look at the comments below how they divide themselves into religion. We do not think of good for others. Somehow, God's grace is on us, so we have survived. But at what cost? Wayanad flood did not see the religion. It just took away people who came in the way of nature. The politicians the beaurocrats, whether it is Congress BJP or Left, are all Indians in the end but do not practice their dharma properly. They will take action only if they are personally attacked or they fear losing power or ot will earn them lots of money. And citizens who are greedy will continue to vote for them. Anyway, why wait for politicians, why cannot common man work for the good of his neighbourhood without any ulterior motive? That what we lack. Money is GOd and can buy their soul! Ethics is at its lowest. Parents and teachers are to blame for the rot in society. Everyone should do their Dharma. And that is where every Imdian fails miserably. We should think of good for society you live in always.

I am a big supporter of the stated BJP agenda of National development, eliminating corruption and Hindutva ( in this order). However, based on many viewer comments and crying foul about election officials and people saying only Hindus can resurrect bjp. ( like democrats demanding black votes). Except Bengal, BJP gained in other places. It is a set back for Indi and congress as congress lost one seat in HP to BJP, one seat in MP to BJP, lost second place to BJP in Punjab, loosing sitting seat in Bihar and pushed down to third place. NDA is now in second place in TN by-election. In Uttrakhand both seats were held by Congress and now managed to retain with narrow margin. In Bengal BJP lost because of terror politics of TMC and centre should impose president rule there for saving democracy and free and fair election. In Bengal, in four seats, both Congress and CPM became politically irevalant. So in actuality it is a setback for Congress and BJP is not able to counter this fake congress narrative also. .
