Thats the thing...I look at it objectively and not through the lens of a 4 year old seeing it in 1984. It literally does have that much energy, and he says it WITH CONVICTION! The lightning flash, grayskull, the Cringer/BattleCat roar. The masculine voice and echo. The theme music. No matter how hard they try they cant re-create it or make old new again. Its one of a kind.
Yeah that original Transformation was a clip that they could play every episode to take up run time and keep production cost down. But that means that they went all out with it. All the future ones try to avoid being so cartoony with the theme music, but it just works so well!. The voice modulation, the way the music plays that low note to build tension and the chorus going goes "He-Man!" when converts. It just carries so much Gravitas.
I have the power.....of decades of advancement in animation! I do like that as soon as they could feasibly do it they started making Adam and He-Man physically different, it sells it more as a transformation rather than "Adam burns his clothes off to gain superpowers." Ah Frank Frazzeta, your style lives on.
As everyone has said, the original wins hands down due to the animation, the voicing and the music. The perfect combination. Now we need a video showing all the reverse transformations.
As I have said, Filmation and "He Man And The Masters Of The Universe" wins easily, the others aren't even close!!!! The Netflix series looks decent to be fair, but as for the New Adventures Of He Man, to say it is dreadful is insulting the word dreadful!!!!! There isn't a pejorative enough adjective to describe how poor that excuse of a cartoon is!!!! Long live Filmation and their He Man, for me 'tis the best and always will be, including epic theme tune, Adam to He Man awesome transformation, fantastic voiceovers; it's the best in its effortless simplicity!!!!
The original had a more powerful actor's voice (amplified echo), better music, better pyrotechnics, and overall more pizazz. I don't know why the newer versions were so weak.
@@mroffice8166 It was on every day, so I believe cost was a concern. However, sometimes less is more. I hate the new CGI they plaster onto the old Star Trek show, it doesn't fit the old sets at all.
That was my introduction to the he-man story and to this day is still my favorite incarnation of all the characters. It also doesn’t help how many of the other characters were voiced by actors who were also part of my childhood. Man at Arms being voiced by Gary chalk being a prime example.
@@hanyoukimura for me I knew his as Optimus Prime first. I didn’t know about beast wars until I was about to enter Middle school and I couldn’t even really get into it.
I like the animation of many of the newer ones, but John Erwin somehow made screaming "I have the power!" sound almost natural. Garry Chalk is possibly the worst of them (he makes "By The Power Of Greyskull" sound like a question), but that's an underwhelming sequence overall. The one for the 2003 show is normally longer than what's shown here (this is the version from the opening credits, which is abbreviated), but I've never been a big fan of Cam Clarke so I can't properly judge his performance.
Sorry... As an 80'S child nothing comes close to the original. Alright?... Maybe the one at 1:48 He-Man Revelations. I thought it was a cool blend of old and new Cool graphics. Similar but different sequences. You know what it is? The 1983 He-Man Says it with CONVICTION! In a deep masculine manly voice despite it being Prince Adam. The music sequence, the bolt of lightning and the Cringer roar still holds up to this day. Hell?.. I think even the SheRA music is cool AF!
The original is great, but it’s so epic when he man is being electrocuted by skeletor and fighting through the electricity to reach the sword and yell I have the power while being electrocuted. One of the most epic sword raises of all time.
It is so weird to me how netflix made both MOTU:Revelations, and the 3d MOTU One's artstyle is so good, the other looks like a terrible nickelodeon cartoon
MOTU 200x have the best He-Man transformation. Second, the original from Filmation, and third the one from CGI... And please put the sailor moon transformation on Sailor Moon's anime.
Filmation wins by an eternity, the Netflix version is alright, the New Adventures Of He-Man is a waste of the animator's pen it is that dreadful, awful version that, and I am being kind to it!!!!!. Long live the original!!!
