Generally, Chinese battery packs should always be better than western because of safety. Western battery packs use a lot more packing to deduce fire hazards, and slow down fire. If you ever saw EV battery explosion or very quick fire, it's always Chinese car. This is why if Chinese use same batteries, Chinese cars will always have advantage in cost and range, but safety will suffer. Having long and wide sheets of battery seems to be pretty dangerous from design stand point, but maybe there is some technology that makes it safer. The pack needs to be punctured to actually test it, videos like that can't prove anything.

EV sales continue to advance. Only the US is in doubt since none of their traditional automakers capable of making them , and sell them with a profit. CATL world biggest battery manufacturer has a better alternative, and Tesla is their biggest customer.

NO. China manufacturers close to 80% of all ev in the world, and the same percentage of batteries. There is no country that can surpass that ca[\pacity. The US lostthat technological war about ten years ago.

CATL has better technology, and Tesla is the worlds largest customer. They also use BYD, and BYD is a partner for Tesla as expresed by its CEO, and Elon too.
