It won’t, if they start selling well, Europe will just impose heavy import duties on them to protect their own manufacturers. They’ll do well in South America though.

It would be hard to see Europe antagonising China. The self righteous EU turns a blind eye to China's appaling human rights record and its turning of Africa into its vassal states. This is all because Europe, especially Germany exports massively to China. This includes cars and German companies build many carss in China.

Electric motors are fast spinning and you don't need to wait for a petrol engine to rev up to produce maximum power. Electric motors give maximum torque the moment it spins.

The Dolphin offers a comfort-oriented, Toyota-like ride, and handling characteristics to match. Not slow, but it’s “just” a family car on that regard.

Unfortunately the demand is keeping the price high. A double edged sword as more sakes will help availability in the second hand market which is good

the first half of brake is regen, no brake pad engaged. so the regen isn't weaker, just different design.

@@qilu2004 thats the same with most vehicles except they can employ strong regen without using the brake pedal even to the extent of "one pedal driving" which I prefer.

@@2011ppower most people dislike one pedal mode, according to a survey done in china which represent over 60% of global ev ownership. i personally hate one pedal driving. i much prefer the smooth glide over jerkey slow downs. as long as one generates same amount of energy by using the brake, i don't see the point of one pedal, other than its being a superstition inplanted by tesla.

I too like 1 pedal driving and experienced it 1st in the LEAF. The Dolphin has the same setup as the ATTO 3 so it is minimal

Do you think the Dolphin is sluggish? After this drive we were told it was in safe mode for shipping and all the power wasn't available. I do agree that the MG 4 handles better

@@NevoEVReviewIreland my feeling is that there is an element of price management early doors to limit demand while they establish themselves. Once they are fully set up, I suspect that they will go very aggressive on pricing to ramp up demand.

Thanks for the comment, the car I reviewed was a 60kWh. The smaller battery in a lighter car should see 250km+ in my opinion as heat pump is standard too but only a real world test will tell.

MG IS Chinese. And in fact, it's a 2nd league Chinese manufacturer (SAIC) compared to BYD which is a leader in EVs and batteries both in China as well as globally.

MG4 simply looks cheap-ish. It's obviously a copy of multiple car designs jumbled together (that's how it looks to me).
