Despite of the USA’s trade war against China LADOT ordered 130 electrical buses from BYD. However, these buses will be manufactured in the USA in the cooperation between LADOT and BYD. The electrical vehicles will be cheaper in the near future as the battery technology is improving while fossil fuel based vehicles will become more expensive due to the climate change policy and higher prices. Great cooperation between LADOT and BYD.

These are 30' transit busses, not passenger cars. BYD started building electric busses in California 15 years ago, but it's very unlikely they'll sell BYD passenger cars in the near future.

Difference is that EV cars market is much bigger and that will destroy American brands like Ford which cant compete in battery and EV tech.

@@luckyh1217 the only most Americanized vehicle in U.S. is Honda were it is built entirely in U.S. factories while GM, Ford and Stellantis are manufactured and assembled in China, Mexico, Thailand and Brazil

@@ZweiZwolf U.S. can not stop BYD and other Chinese EVs to be sold in U.S., currently Chinese EVs can be sold in U.S. via Mexico because US and Mexico has an agreement of open market and trade exchange, Chinese EVs companies can built their factories in Mexico

Respectful Greetings! To: BYD For years, developed countries have made great strides toward improving air quality in densely populated metropolitan cities and advocated the need to use alternative energy sources to petroleum as the pathway toward reducing transportation-related air pollution. Electric Vehicles are identified as a key solution towards fulfilling fossil-free Public Transport and a stepping stone towards full sustainability. Several life-cycle assessment studies have also found that life-cycle environmental impacts are lower from electric buses than from buses with internal combustion engines if they are powered by renewable electricity. Moreover, municipalities that are planning for more dense cities are considering electric buses as they are getting concerned about emissions and the increasing noise in their cities, especially along Bus routes. Noise from traffic can have negative health effects, decreased dwelling prices, and might cause great societal costs. As you might know, Electric Vehicles are environmentally friendly, quiet, and economical. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation ordered 130 BYD battery-electric K7Mbuses - the largest single order of battery-electric buses to date in the U.S. The project fits perfectly with the Los Angeles’ “Green New Deal”, a set of sustainability goals that includes converting the entire Los Angeles Department of Transportation fleet to zero-emission buses by 2030. The city of Los Angeles has set a bold goal of converting every city vehicle to zero-emission technology by 2050. It is estimated the 130 Buses will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 8,225 metric tons per year and by 98,700 metric tons over the 12-year life of the buses, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 81% compared to Los Angeles Department of Transportation’s CNG Buses. The Buses will be built at BYD’s Coach & Bus factory in Lancaster, Calif. BYD’s zero-emission Buses not only meet but also exceed Federal Transit Administration “Buy America” requirements, incorporating more than 70% U.S. content. The background and recent status of the fuel cell electric Bus demonstration Project in North America and Europe. Key performance metrics include accumulated miles, availability, fuel economy, fuel cost, roadcalls, and hydrogen fueling. An Electric Bus is an electric vehicle powered by electricity rather than gasoline, diesel, or other fuel types. Although some Electric Buses, such as trollies, use an external electricity source, modern models have large electricity storage capacities or batteries onboard. Some hybrid models combine an internal combustion engine, like a diesel internal combustion engine, with electric motor and battery.
