Rare footage of Bygone Liverpool dating back to the 1900's showing the Albert Dock as seen from the Overhead Railway and scenes from the Pier Head, Church Street and much more
Wow! All sorts of things happening in 1900 for whomever's film this was to begin with! I turned the soundbed off; I agree with cybertommo~a bit of early 20th C. music would have been preferable, but I'm SO glad there are people out there who find these pieces of history, convert them, then post them. It's so important, thank you.
great video thank you :) liverpool has such a rich history but people like to swallow lazy stereotypes because it doesn't require actual thought. more films should be made about liverpool!
i used to deliver goods to the townhall its amazing to actually see it in this video from the outside it looks the same but to see them people walking past in them clothes etc is amazing next best thing to a time machine
it would have been good to know the name of that ship ppl were boarding...my grandparents left Europe from Liverpool in 1901 and 1902...but thanks all the same for this great video !
Mixed emotions--ALL footage of this era is valuable. But I too turned off the sound though. My mom was born just off 'Scottie road' in 1905, and would hold our attention for hours, telling us of grim times back then, with amazing details. Pity the film is so off focus, but it can be redone frame by frame with the right software. But not cheap I'm thinking.
Well assembled collection of clips but pity about the intrusive rock track. Something more appropriate for the early 20th century would have made this a great video. Nevertheless, good viewing. Well done!
Wht do we have to listen top the beatles evwery time Liverpool is mentioned? The funny part about it is the film your'e showing was probably before any of them was born,These are the things that put Liverpool on the map not the beatles
really it doesnt matter what the soundtrack is mabe the guy didnt have any rag time songs the video was great it was unique different nearly all the old history vids have ragtime on the track why not try a different sound sometime it can be boring with the same tunes all video and band on the run was cool to me xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You remind of the self righteous brothers played by harry enfield and paul whitehouse,i take it you dont like scousers.the tarbuck comment was funny though.
