Yes, seems xclipse does a good job in gpu performance, but battery not so much. This might be great for gamers and we'll see if there's throttling during bypass charging.
@@NasiLemakTechI think Samsung already fixed the Vivid issue. I toggled the option from Natural to Vivid and I am seeing the difference now. Can you confirm? It looks better to me. It must be a silent update/patch coz I noticed that my battery was draining faster in the past 2 days, but now, battery has improved as well. That update must have caused the battery drain but now it is all good on my end.
It's amazing when you think game running at such graphical fidelity, on such a huge display, speakers, OS in the background, etc. is only consuming 4-6 watts. People take all this for granted but this is a technological marvel. :)
Efficiency is bad. If efficiency was just 70% it could change the world. And That 5 watt was probably used by the hand warming feature included in the phone.
@@thejoltmaster1231 Samsung seems to be taking a more conservative approach with their scheduler compared to others. Especially compared to gaming gaming phones.
@@hossamhosny6492 that feature powers the phone directly from the charger, instead of charging the battery. When battery bypass is enabled, your phone will not charge, instead it will use your charger to power the phone
@@hossamhosny6492It uses the power from the cable directly, not using the battery (or charge it), basically like you take out the battery on your old laptop and use power directly from the wall.
actually this feature work on other apps too, if your phone is at 100%, or if you enabled the 85% battey limit, the phone will draw power from the charger, I noticed that while working in DEX mode, it work also without DEX, tested it on S20+, and S23 Ultra
Are u sure about DEX? Because the only reason I stumbled upon this video is having been looking for an answer whether there's a way to bypass the battery in DEX mode, since otherwise using DEX actively would be a pretty negative experience for the battery longevity.
I have been searching all over RU-vid for an in-depth video regarding this feature. Extremely underrated feature. Thanks NLT for the detailed explanation and breakdown!
Thank you for talking about this feature! Now you could also mention that when using a dock with Dex, the story gets a little more complicated regarding compatibility with PPS, but it seems Rog Ally's charger-dock works with Samsung phones. May docks available with PD and 100w actually don't work!
The funniest thing about all this is that I never imagined that this option would be available on some Galaxy A devices, in my case I use an A34 and the option is available, the best thing to do for this is to use the original cable that comes in the box and a charging cube that allows an exact output of 25W or more, without forgetting that the cube can regulate the voltage according to the mobile.
Love 2 things about your channel, honesty and that you explain everything , please keep doind these 2 things , showing everything on camera and explaining everything you make thing clear and simple Also , can you do a gaming test on wild rift on iphone 15 pro? I have a friend that says it lags and its unplayable but on android its just fine and he doesn't even have a new android he tried with mate 20 pro And please i wanna see test on s24ultra after that upcoming update 🙏 Something i want to try and you can try if you want too is, to use samsung dex and bypass charging and console controler and let the phone chill with 1-2 ice cubes on the place where the cpu is to keep it really cool and like this i think you can play anything without throttling and with the better experience with bigger display and controler
I use this feature a alot every day. I wish samsung give option to permanently enable it on normal usages, so I can switch to web browsers from my gameplay to research information about game quests or watching youtube nonstop without worrying if I will charge my phone.😊
Its actually really useful for everytime you don't want to use the battery. I would enable at 65% when Im doing anything and I am at home or have a portable battery with me. If you 60/20 you can guarantee the battery life up to 7 to 8 years. With the portable battery it could be more.
I really wish you get OnePlus 12 somehow.😢.. You doing all the tests I ever wanted... And not just doing camera camera camera like other zombie utubers
To be honest this is a very very nice feature why ? because it actually reduces the stress on your battery as gaming is one of the most battery intensive task , also it leads to phone running cooler because charging does generate some heat , also if use a good quality phoone cooler you would basically have non stop gaming performance .
Red magic has done this long ago and Samsung finally did it! This is a great news for gamers who does not want their battery to heat up like oven during gaming sessions
@@NasiLemakTecheven many budget phones have hardware for this feature, they just don't expose it in gui for whatever reason. you can manually enable it if you have root access and your hardware supports bypass, by running this command: echo 0 > /sys/class/power_supply/battery/battery_charging_enabled (Replace 0 with 1 to turn off bypass)
is it just me or is it normal for the s24 ultra to have noticeable frame drops on games like honkai star rail at the qhd res and high in game settings.
Hey, can you test it with the trick of 85% and see if it bypasses the battery too? (The trick is: turn on battery protection at 85% then charge the phone till 85% start the game with the charger cable in the phone and see if it bypasses it pla)
Something i noticed on my s23u is that the new update for some reason is consuming the battery faster but also noticed that vulkan support is now worse. So going back to OpenCL
I subscribed because you're using a proper tool 😂 keep it up i hope you upload more of these tests in other phones, my phone is not officially supported bypass charging but it actually supports if you unlock your bootloader and change your kernel. I hope they implement this technology in all phones because it's not only useful in gaming.
it is possible for general mobile phones tho i did had a older general mobile phone and it did work without a battery how is it not possible?@@NasiLemakTech
I wish this was also implemented... If you have a power brick of 45W or more, it should ALSO charge the battery and rely on the extra power from the charger to power the phone instead of relying on the battery that IS being charged. Of course, temperature should be considered too, so when the phone is getting warmer than the battery is allowed to, the charging has to stop.
For people worried about thermals, just want to point out that Tester is in Malaysia, a hot humidbtropial country with no winter. So room temperature is definitely higher, possibly 25 degrees celsius
I haven't explore the new area too xD Btw I 'm sorry if i missed it, but after you tested the device with bypass charging, have you compare the performance (average thermal or fps wise) between bypass charging and non bypass charging ? maybe the thermal peak "less" in bypass charging or something ? Hoping you tested the s24+ with exynos one too ! Keep up the good work man
Great review! I noticed this feature when I bought the s24 ultra, but never actually knew what it was for. One question, I noticed in your video that your temp was reaching 46-47 degrees Celsius while playing the game, that being said, doesn't it affect your battery regardless, and the overall functionality of the phone? - I recently downloaded warzone mobile, and my phone gets up to 41 degrees celcius easily. I am afraid that this will damage my phone in the long run. However, I have not played the game while actually charging my phone. Is there some feature in these new phones, where they can handle this amount of heating?
the question is if this bypass feature offers a better performance but you did not test the phone in normal mode, without it being connected to anything... how can we see the two different performances if you only test one? where's the comparison? the word "better" implies there's two or more things, we get to see only one...
All phones should support bypass charging like laptops... Very useful in some cases like for gaming. I have a phone that has bypass charging feature like the infinix note 30 5g, been using the bypass charging when im gaming everyday and my battery can last longer than not using bypass mode.
I assume you are using Unifi or Maxis home fiber or mobile data service. Not sure about other telcos, but I see lots of comments from user of both telcos experiencing ping spikes on Genshin at peak and night times. Last night I accidentally connected to a Malaysian server of a VPN, and the ping suddenly becomes normal until I disconnected the VPN. I guess this might be because of DNS routing-ish kind of thing.
I have a major question. How do i measure the screen on time and battery usage from last charge in my s24 ??? Any oppo/oneplus/realme device shows that chart correctly and it's very helpful. I find samsung's battery usage displaying very misleading .
I don’t use screen on time. That measurement is the most misleading thing I’ve seen in my life. It didn’t tell you what brightness, how intense is the world, is it on WiFi or cellular or anything like that. All of these things affect the battery life but the SOT number just ignores everything
How do I get bypass charging working on other phones? Like OnePlus phones? I read that op added this as Idle charging in op9 series, it's not there anymore but I always wanted to have this
Unfortunately no, you have to pixel count to get an accurate reading. You can even test yourself if you use digital foundry pixel count method. It's very easy to do.
E resolve o problema do aquecimento .
Good video. But you should compare between bypass on and bypass off. Which one reaches high temperature first, because I think that's what the smartphone company claims, to reduce heat.
Hi, how do you make 63% survive for 2 days?? as shown around 2:34. I set screen refresh rate to 60Hz, resolution to FHD+ yet Device Care shows life expectancy of only 1d.
Bro don't use FHD option ..it consimes more power to degrade the resolution of screen ...and you can see it the youtube comparison where QHD phone wins with a margin of 30 minutes in the comparison Watch youtube video to make sure
i am pretty sure this is not how its working, nowhere says what you claim, there is no bypass happening, and nowhere is mentioned so this function, "pause USB PB charging when gaming" will pause the charging of the phone while gaming because when you charge your phone the phone will heat up as the charging process includes heating cycles, but if you are also gaming while you are charging, this can lead to overheating as gaming will force the processor unto working at 100% constantly, heating the device further nowhere in that option says that the phone is powered by the charger while the battery is bypassed. what it says is that while you are gaming, and the battery is above 20%, the charging will be disabled to avoid overheating
have you actually tested it? it does stop the charging. the phone doesn't get cooler because the chipset is still being powered. throttling still happens if the game demands too much of the processor, but the battery percentage doesn't change. i've done this several times now
Its weird. I havw the base s24(exynos version that usally gets hoter than snapdragon version) and my phone heats up to 44, max 45°C when running on max graphics and battery power
I'm so sad that this feature isn't always available. If you use your phone at home a lot, this could be tremendous for battery longevity, and could probably do have clever applications in preventing overcharging/over night charging degradation
Has anyone tried using bypass playing retroarch and other emulators like duckstation and Nethersx2 and so on so forth? Cause I tried and for some reason the battery bypass does not work for these emulators. Or is it just me and my setup...
Can I use my 25 watt samsungs fast charger for the same, also does it affect the phone health ( both battery and the chipset) cause its for my long term use so will be using this feature alot, please do help me out
Hey there is a way to max stress in a game, go to league of legends wild rift, then go to practice tool, pick aurelion sol, level up aurelion sol to max, spawn 5 target dummies, and spam E and R abilities on them for some time
Battery bypass means your battery wouldn't heat up but that means more thermal headroom for the chipset. Essentially if we look at the peak temperature, it'll be the same. Performance though, will be slightly better. Maybe intangible.
