Each Spice girl is in a genre of film. Baby was in horror more specifically Poltergeist, Scary was in military/ action, Sporty was in martial art/kung-fu, Posh is spy films(Bond films), and Ginger was the golden age of Hollywood era/musicals.

The movie is actually pretty hilarious, the bad acting is all part of the fun. I fricken love the spice Girls. They have so many great songs

(Sporty Spice) in Enter The Dragon (a Bruce Lee film), Geri (Ginger Spice) pays homage to the glamour black and white films from early Hollywood (i.e. Rita Hayworth, etc.) and Victoria (Posh Spice) is Catwoman.

Because it was a video for their movie the director was kind of doing a tribute to movies and the different segments in the video was based on each of the Spice Girl's own film fantasies that they wanted to act out. Mel B's is based on 'Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome'. Emma Bunton's is based on 'Poltergeist'. Mel C's is based on 'Year of the Dragon'. Ginger Spice's is based on an old Hollywood movie called 'Gilda'. Victoria Beckham's was based on Catwoman.

Can ANYONE relate? In the UK, I was 9/10 when the Spice girls came out and EVERONE was obsessed. So in the school playground, all girls would all get in groups of 5 (you had to recruit a friend or something if your friendship group was under 5 people) and all around the playground there were different girl groups singing and dancing to spice girl songs doing impromptu concerts and it was a battle who could get the bigger audience. SpiceWorld is like days in the life of the band! Seeing their struggles with tabloids and rehearsing for their concert. And Too Much is the theme of the movie. The video is a homage to many movies - Scary Mad Max, Baby Poltergeist, Sporty Bruce Lee, Posh 007 and Ginger Casablanca

Each girl is portraying a character from different movies: Mel B ( Scary Spice) the girl on the tank , that was based on a Mad Max movie Mel C (Sporty Spice) the one in the red top & black pants was based on Year of the Dragon Geri (Ginger Spice) the black & white scenes was supposed to be an old Rita Hayworth movie called Gilda Emma (Baby Spice) the blonde girl, her scene was inspired by Poltergeist and Victoria (Posh Spice) in the black catsuit was supposed to be Catwoman from Batman Returns Not sure why they did that for the music video other than entertainment purposes, but it's a fun video so I guess it worked. 😄

Love the Spice Girls! I always was Baby Spice (Emma Bunton), she was/is my favorite Spice Girl but I also like Ginger Spice (Geri Halliwell) too. And this music video was for their movie Spice World (fun movie of them just having fun). But I just caught on today that they were in movie scenes, I'm not sure of what the movies were for the four girls (Victoria, Mel-C Mel-B and Geri) but Emma's part was Poltergeist and she was Carol Anne in her bedroom.

They're in different movies promoting their own movie basically. Baby is Poltergeist, Scary is Mad Max, Posh is Catwoman, Mel C is Some Bruce Lee movie and Ginger is like "Casa Blanca"-ish. There's a version that doesn't have the movie scenes that's more enjoyable in my humble opinion.
