Paradoxically perhaps, Tuohy's second place finishes in the 3K and 5K are said to have been the biggest motivation in her development from that point on, through the outdoor season (fastest collegiate1500 and 5K of 2022; NCAA 5k champ) and on to the XC season (undefeated plus team and individual NCAA champs). Maybe we should give some credit to Crissy Gear for thwarting Katelyn on the anchor leg of the Penn Relays 4 x 1500. Katelyn is said to still be stewing about that one. The addition of Tyynismaa to the Pack is making the 4 x 1500 this year look sweet.
