What I find amazing is living in these days when the Lord has such a wide selection of wonderful individuals to choose from. Invariability he chooses the best but such a host have gathered themselves together in these, the Latter Days.
What an amazing new Apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ we have! His message was wonderful and so inspirational. What a treat to all these BYU-Hawaii students and graduates, 'go forth to the unknown putting your hand into the Hand of God.' 💛Aloha!
Elder Kearon's talk, Refuge From the Storm, was life changing for me. I look forward to hearing more inspired messages from him that will lead us to treat others more like Jesus would have us do.
The Lord has called yet another amazing person as an apostle. I am thankful for all these men, the life they lead and the example they are to us. I pray each day that I can become what God wants me to be. And that person I assume is what I see in the apostles of the Lord.
The Holy Ghost told me one year ago that Elder Kearon would someday soon become an Apostle, during April 2022 General Conference. And it has come to pass. ❤
@@pedroms38hi brother, I'd say receiving the revelation and having the authority to extend the call based on any revelation or impression or prompting are two separate things..
A few years from now, this talk that mentions war, famine, and faithfulness until the End will seem even more inspired. Let Zion be Redeemed! Let New Jerusalem be built up at the appointed center place as a refuge for the saints against the difficult days ahead. 🙏
What an inspiring call to the apostleship! I have connected with Elder Kearon’s words throughout all of his discourses. This is my witness of God’s power and the truthfulness of the Gospel sourced from Christ’s church - known and filled with imperfect, but progressing people.
Yes, he appears to enter the position fully ready to hit the ground running, yet humble. I liked the talk he gave at a conference and the interaction between Elder Holland and him at the first of each other’s talk. Exceptional! Wonderful content and very engaging delivery. I can’t imagine a better choice for the newest Apostle. Has a bit of David O. McKay in him-Faith mixed with kindness and learning. May God bless him, his family, and his ministry.
I love that we get to be part of this. How fresh and raw in feeling. What a neat experience for those in attendance. I am so grateful for technology that I can be part of this too.
Sustaining votes are for us not them. It's a kind of covenant to follow and sustain them. He was appropriately sustained in a meeting of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve and we had the opportunity to sustain him in General Conference. (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a democracy but a theocracy.) He continues to be a member of the Quorum of the Twelve because we continue to uphold him as such.
This is how it's been explained to me. It may be useful. The sustaining in General Conference is a public formality. It doesn't matter if we choose to sustain anyone or not, and most especially as it pertains to General Church leadership, as the Lord has called the person. We just get an opportunity to publicly show whether or not we accept Christ's selected person and are willing to help them fulfill their calling - just as on the local level we sustain local leadership - or not - in the same way.
