True man. BYU didn't have a ton of offensive weapons without him. I drove up from SLC for the game and during half time remarked that BYU's defense should just play offense too, they were scoring more. Tough game. But it was fun, and you Boise State people are alright.
Not with how bad the offensive line was this whole game. They were lighting up Squally in the backfield and chasing Taysom around behind the line all game
But Jamaal is a much better back that Canada. The O-line was terrible, but Jamaal would have at least been a threat. They had no running threat without him. Also, the play calling for Canada is different than it is for Jamaal because of ball security. I don't think they wanted to put him in a position where he could potentially fumble the ball...it's not really his strong point. Jamaal can wear defenses down because he just keeps going and doesn't fumble.
Rewatching this game now. I understand more why Taysom would not make a good NFL QB. The game is way to fast for him to stand in the pocket with happy feet. This has to be one of his most tentative performances. Love the guy, but I can see a lot of flaws in this game.
What were the BYU coaches thinking? It's 4th and 19 to go, and they have a punter, who runs like a slug, take it just barely out of the end zone, giving Boise State the ball on BYU's 2 yard line! What IDIOTS!
