I ended up going to Cordoba on a Monday and the Alcazar and the Casa Viani were closed. I'll have to go back again next time in Spain. You should try the famous pastry. I found it in a café on the main street that's along the park. I wasn't all that impressed with the flower alley. Walk up and down the Roman bridge and that's it. The Mezquita though is worth the trip: beautiful.
@OurTravelPlace
@OurTravelPlace 10 месяцев назад
Ahh shame you visited when they were closed, but as long as you visited the Mezquita then like you say, worth the trip! The Mezquita is the highlight, I think even just visiting the Mezquita and having a bit of a wander around the streets would make for a great day 🙂 Good tip on the pastry!

The bell tower we bought a few days in advance. The mosque cathedral we bought on my phone as we were queuing to get in 😄 There is also a kiosk there where you can buy tickets. If you know when you want to go you can buy in advance whenever is convenient but I don't think it's essential. The bell tower is small groups though so we booked that one ahead of time. How much is the train I want to travel to cordoba and Granada and what would be the best city to stay for easy travel Malaga or the city you stayed Seville
@OurTravelPlace
@OurTravelPlace Год назад
The cost of the train varies depending on time of day, and also the type of train. The slower, regional trains are cheaper. Prices can vary from around 11 euros to 40 euros one way I think depending on train type and time of day. I would suggest visiting the renfe website and having a look at the different options. As for where to stay, I think Malaga is easier for Granada, and Cordoba is similar from both. I can't speak based on experience though as we haven't visited Granada or Malaga yet! Whatever you decide I hope you have a great trip!

You know when you booked the train? Did you also buy a return ticket or did the slow train ticket cover outward and return journey because it says round trip? So confused :(
@OurTravelPlace
@OurTravelPlace Год назад
If you are buying a return ticket first you select the outward journey, then you select the time you want to return. In the video clip it was set as a return journey and then I was showing you the different outward journey train options. Once you select your outward time, at the bottom of the screen a banner will pop up saying "next" - click next and then you can pick your return time. The total cost of a return ticket will be the outward + return journey ticket price. Hope it makes sense now? 🙂

What a beautiful mosque of Cordoba and its beauty eclipsed by Cathedral which could easy have been built somewhere else as Charles V once said "they could have build cathedral somewhere else and let the unique mosque wonder of world stay as it is", but hardliners forced him to build cathedral inside the mosque.

Is three days in Cordoba too much? I guess it just depends on how much I want to see.
@OurTravelPlace
@OurTravelPlace 7 месяцев назад
If you did run out of things to do you could always do a day trip from Cordoba to somewhere else, but I at least think you could comfortably fill 2 days. 1 wasn't enough for us. Like you say, depends what you want to do and also what pace you like to go at. I think it also depends if you are just visiting Cordoba or if it's a multistop itinerary (i.e. do you have enough days for the other places too 🙂). If it were me and I was visiting a few places I would ideally want to spend 2 days in Cordoba if it worked. But visiting Cordoba only then 3 with the option of a day trip if I fancied it! 🙂

To say that Cordoba is for a day trip from Seville is to have very little knowledge. First of all because Cordoba is a city with a lot more things to do than Seville, even being a smaller city. Cordoba is the city with the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world. With that alone I think it's all said and done. To see each of these world heritage sites you need at least one day. Please, let's be serious before making recommendations. Thank you.
@OurTravelPlace
@OurTravelPlace Год назад
At no point did I say you can do everything in Cordoba in one day. In fact, I acknowledged that you can't and that we wished we had longer than a day. However we only had time on our holiday for a day trip, and there will be others in that position too. In my opinion not being able to see everything in one day doesn't mean you shouldn't go, or that it's a poor choice for a day trip.
