This video recaps every hit from Adley Rutschman in 2021 when he was promoted to Norfolk Tides on August 10th. He is MLB's top prospect heading into next year and there is no doubt he will be a future star for many years to come. Adley is a former first overall pick in the 2019 draft. He plays Catcher and is a switch hitter.
AAA Stats:
.312 Avg | 5 HR | 25 Runs | 2 SB | .490 SLG |
My Scouting report on him:
+ Clutch Hitter with solid contact.
+ Consistently getting on base.
+ Strong arm and calls a great games behind the plate.
+ Does well against the shift.
- Below Average runner but not bad for a catcher.
- At the beginning you can see he had a lot of groundball hits, that would typically be an out in the MLB. However, later in the video he adjusted his swing and got more pop on it and that's when you really see his potential.

He needs to be the O's opening day catcher. He'll be 24 this season. It's time.

He should have been their opening day catcher last year. And if time manipulation wasn't a thing, he would have been. He was damn near ready the day he was drafted. Smh.

He destroyed both AA and AAA last year. He's ready. We'll see him in MLB in May (because of course the Orioles are going to play service time games with him).

This guy is Special✅He’s a Switch hitting Catcher👍🏾It’s hard to find Catchers who can swing it like this. He’s a hitting Machine. He will get that Call up to the 40-Man real soon.

Not really impressive…didn’t see overwhelming power but great contact guy..seems more like a doubles hitter with line drive power to gaps

Everyone doesn’t need to be power hitting. A .320 BA is crazy. Shows me he has an eye for the ball. Orioles fans need to be happy about having him.

He’s a catcher. He’s impressive. You might frequently watch RU-vid but you obviously don’t know anything about baseball.
@buddhastl7120
@buddhastl7120 2 года назад
Kinda agree. W/o power and the monster step up in quality pitching in MLB that .320 COULD turn into .260. Would not be hurtful if he was capable of 30 bombs/ 500 ABs.
@harperhomeruns
@harperhomeruns 2 года назад
The guy can homer oppo, pull side, dead center. He focuses on putting the ball into play where fielders are absent. If you’ve watched him at all in your life you’d know he has power. “Not impressive” you couldn’t be more of a casual

This is why the O's are an absolute garbage can because of shit like this 😒 you have this kid raking in AAA and they don't call him up because of money smh if i were him I wouldn't play for that terrible organization

He would've been called up sooner but was dealing with a minor injury. Either way, it was smart to let him tear it up at each level first.
