I'm so familiar with the models of the game that I can't even tell that they're old. Generals and Warcraft 3 really made my childhood, it's just a shame RTS is dead and is replaced by MOBAs and RTTs

Ah uberdanger. The perfect balance of sseth's chaotic-neutral and mandalores lawful-good.

Aaah generals zero hour. SO many hours playing this. So many china tanks and GLA demolitions defeated with my favorite US airforce. And when you play this game you go "hang on a minute, it feels like this game is incomplete?" Thats when you download the Shockwave mod. When you go "hang on a minute, what about Russia and europe?" Thats when you download the Rise of the reds mod The base game and the 2 mods alone, easily give you hundreds of hours of fun.

The game being unbalanced is what makes it fun. Ah, the memories of harassing my friends as the GLA.

The soundtrack of this game is low-key a banger. Nothing hits harder than the USA battle theme as you roll in late game with a fully upgraded army.

C&C Generals and Zero Hour expansion have been one of if not my most favorite game, RotR mod increased that love to a new heights, sadly the mod havent been updated AFAIK tho ive seen footage for the latest version

If there'd be one thing I'd use from Finnish primarily to fuck with people for a faked bad english-as-a-second-language thing, it'd be echoed responses. If someone's asking if we're doing something, we repeat the verb or the negatory of it. Otherwise you're rude or lazy. But I'm picturing it being either comical, standoffish or ominous in english.

Good old C&C, my favorite game series, and while Generals was not as good as previous ones it definitely had its own vibe going on that i loved alot. Btw, did u miss the C&C Tiberian dawn and Red Alert 1 remake 2 years ago? its a great back to basics game that i still enjoy. I still have the cd rom version of this game and its expansion so no messing for me with Origin.

I actually know one of the voice actors/actresses of RotR, the dutch-accented driver of the ECA Excavator is DragonNOR, he also voiced some units in the most important mod for C&C Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge: Mental Omega.

If you downloaded the contra mod, the mod deals with all the command and conquer mods you have meaning if you ran contra mod by 1080 all command and conquer games will also be force to run in 1080 without the blackbars or bad stretch to your monitor.

When I run out of good content to watch, I start watching other people watching good content to see what others think of what I like. That is what lead me to this channel in the first place.

The game and the mod are absolute gems.

One fun thing that happenede ONCE while playing this game. I was playing as USA. I was harassing my opponent with Stealth Fighters. At one point the other player sent a couple battlebuses and a radar van to take them out right next to my base. They caught my squadron on the return trip and destroyed it. Almost! One of the stealth fighters managed to land and enter the repair hangar when the missiles struck. The enemy units were taken out as they launched the last salvo. The plane exploded on the hangar but somehow survived. I guess the game couldn't handle wether the unit was dead or not and simply repaired it to full health. So I had a Stealth fighter with a wing missing, burned black from the explosion, and was still perfectly fine. And best of all: it was inmortal. It would fly, attack, get it's health depleted and breakd own mid air, continue flying, land, "repair" and rearm, then go again. It did 6 more sorties into heavily defended enemy positions until it was hit by a superweapon from another player causing it to explode into confeti. We had a great laugh with the zombie stealth fighter.

"ill build anywhere".. seconds later "Uhh cant build there, cant do that", perfectly encapsulates US sad economy and infrastructure now.

I loved the madness of Command and Conquer generals.... All the mods that made everything insane and everything was great.

They're not balanced at all but the original C&C games are not devoid of merit, in fact they were crucial to the development of the genre and are worth a play. The soundtracks for Tiberian Dawn & Red Alert are God Tier and with the remastered collection they reached even greater heights.

It's weird to hear international perspective on your language, sometimes. Before i learned English and got the internet, i had no idea Russian language sounds intimidating to some people. Like, people get this reaction to the most innocent (to my ear) things said in Russian. I guess this is kind of like the way i percieve German.

Space lasers are a recurring thing in Command & Conquer.

I like better resolutions in games, meaning the units and terrain and everything looking more detailed. But I hate when the resolution makes my units so tiny I can hardly see them, then I rather stick with resolution like 1024x768.

C&C has a history of being altered quite a bit for the german market. Such as that all the infentary back in Command & Conquer: tiberium dawn, the very first game and onwards until RA2 i believe, were called Cyborgs in the german editions. The sound they made when roadkilled by vehicles was crushing an aluminium can. There were ALOT more censorings and alterations to be count up here but C&C generals zero hour is one of the most weird ones for sure. Also, the latest thing that came for the still living C&C fanbase are the Remastered versions for C&C 1 Tib dawn and Red Alert one. They are quite worth checking out in my opinion!

It's not about graphical fidelity and pixel count. I'll take Warcraft III (original, not that turd Blizzard made recently) over nearly any game, because it is way more fun. Red Alert 2 is far more interesting than Red Alert 3.

While I never played generals zero hour since my very first pc game I ever played was my buddy's copy of coc generals and I loved it even when I got it a year or 2 back for myself I still loved it, I highly recommend it since it is alongside red alert the highest rated coc games even to this day.

The Dawn of War black bar problem is just an aspect ratio problem. Any resolution of 16:9 aspect ratio worked fine for me, although I only played Dark Crusade & Soulstorm so I don't know if they had 16:9 aspect ratio resolutions for the first Dawn of War.

To me... Generals, Zero Hour, RA3 and so on... were the dying days of the RTS genre... though Starcraft 2 was good by Blizzard but after that, EA and Blizzard just didn't care anymore and me being a lover of RTS games, it hurts.

9:05 thats not correct Germany has 2 different banning systems everything with a NS symbol is for bitten at all, while games like c&c generals or doom 1, postel, mortal combat 1-9, are seen as dangerous for teenanger and Younger so you can't advertise them or have them openly to pick up, but it's completely legal to buy, sell and play them.

NOT a revival but EA realesed remastered version of the first command and conquer. So as I said not a revival but it is more like a reminder of what was good back then. And as you said the mobile game shitstorm that EA created, the first big step to downfall was when they realesed Tiberium Twilight, most hated game in the franchise and the 5th or 6th worst reviewed game on Steam I think. Then there was some talk that they were making Generals 2 but sadly game never came and it was a sad moment, after the mobile game incident it was imo the final nail in the coffin for the franchise. The only thing they can do now is to remaster the old ones and then leave it be.

Command and conquer shockwave is better then rise of the reds, they were made by the same team. I was apart of both projects I recommend shockwave more if you want to experience closer to standard game without the mod makers own audio . The voice work was from people who worked on the mod, testers and others.
