That and the forces fighting the Giant Ants use units that GDI fields by 1990 - a mixture of both Allied and Soviet equipment.

Dan Liang Have you tried fan emulations like Open RA or Red Alert 1? I haven't played them much myself, but I believe that both emphasize multiplayer. The latter I feel has a more "authentic" experience while the former made a few changes that help out dated gameplay (i.e. the build tab has it so things like infantry, buildings, vehicles, and defensive buildings each are grouped together in separate tabs like in Red Alert 2). I also remembering downloading the original Red Alert game with modern compatibility from EA's official website for free a few years back, but can't find it for some reason now.

I think it is expansion mission-set :) Not sure tho! In PS1 Red Alert Retaliation there is ant missions and it is expansion :)

chipmunk3k It was the early days. They still hadn't gotten out of their roots from the very first RTS, Dune 2, yet. In fact, the whole concept of Tiberium as a universal resource owes a lot to the "Spice" from the Dune universe.

yeah I never played dune when I was little but after watching game play, there is a lot of similarity's between the two games, not to mention the user interface is near identical

chipmunk3k It's too bad many gamers have no idea just how much of an influence Dune 2 had, though. That's probably one reason why the Dune games were never re-released. Emperor: Battle for Dune and Dune 2000 certainly deserve re-releases. Remember the film title at the beginning of this video, "It Came From Red Alert"? Well, the whole C&C universe came from Dune 2. Maybe it should be "It Came From Dune 2."

Mazryonh Dune 2k was released in 1998. Tiberian Dawn was released in 1995 and Red alert in 1996

+Kevin Crabtree Yeah it is weird. The version that plays this slow is PSX version (I know, cuz I own it). But PC version is much much faster than this. Might be someone has a mod to decrease game speed. I prefer slower gameplay actually, it gives me enough time to micromanagement, even though AIs is quite dumb but they can do this n that in computing speed while I can't.
