There is no reason for any African American male not to know this story. Medgar Wylie Evers was a prince in the line of Dubois, Baldwin, Malcolm X and King. These men are our heroes who selflessly argued the case for the humanity and dignity of Black people. He was what we all should be. Thank God for Medgar and the heroes of his generation.

gdep Man my father told me that Medgar Evers was the civil rights movement. I always had a sour feeling from anyone made famous by the said civil rights movement. Amazing we go back to Harriet Tubman and skeet right up to Obama since I can remember but not one word of Mr. Evers. The voiceless voice that screams angelically without fail through all who were ever directed his way. Man! Just listen!

yeah there is it is called scrubbing history and sanitation of the story to control the narrative and it is not black folk doing that

How incredibly sad. This house was really nice. The way he had the house set up for his families safety speaks volumes about how bad it was in Mississippi and Alabama etc...

I make it my business to make my 7 year old watch and listen. I express how important it is. She doesn't fully understand now , but one day she will. Plant the seed early. The schools don't do it anymore. Our children feel entitled. They do not realize that they are living off of many people's sacrifice. Mine will learn . That's my contribution and the very least I can do.

I'd say that about MLK and Malcolm X too. Three beautiful powerful black men that gave their lives to make this country great. The work continues but we have no more as eloquent as Medgar Evers.

Its really intresting to know about the life of medgar here on the island of jamaica in the caribbean his story is an inspiration to black ppl all over and the house museum curator has done a wonderful biography very touching and powerful story yet we can celebrate the life of this wonderful man in an era when blacks struggled to gain acceptace in the fabric of american society.

Stumbled upon this. I am glad I did. CRT isn't thought in schools K thru 12 but yet its feared. Examples like this must be taut in our schools, media. This is not just a Mississippi story this is America's shady sad and violent history.

Medgar Evers was a great man and American. He fought for Black Mississippians to vote and was assassinated on this day 60 years ago. You deserve as much credit as Dr. King, Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall

I honestly believe that after these men came back from fighting the war for America, this was the time that this country could mend and be made whole and the races mesh together. He was an incredibly brave man. That was our chance, but it didn't happen, and that chance will never come again. 😢😢💔💔
